Tisaine was relieved her sister was in better spirits after her trip into town. They spent the day together eating breakfast by their mother's impressive garden. The rest of the family had other affairs to attend to but Tisaine decided her sister might be ready for some company. As the girls sat relaxing Tisaine's mind drifted toward her sister's thoughts but all Tisaine could see were flowers and village houses. upon further prying she could make out the family house and some singing.

"Huh."

"What?" Mira questioned at her sister's puzzled look.

"Your blocking me."

"Huh?" Now Mira was puzzled.

"You are blocking me out of your thoughts... this is not a bad thing just interesting that you seem to be doing it by instinct."

"Oh." Mira didn't know how to respond, she didn't want her sister knowing every inner secret but was it rude to block her out. She quickly decided she didn't care and she preferred it. She would learn to perfect this mechanism.

"Sister."

"Yes Tisaine?"

"I wanted to give you something." Tisaine pulled what looked like a long bracelet out of her work satchel and handed it to Mira. It had a simple silver stone hung by leather thread. Mira rubbed her fingers across the smooth surface.

"It is a moon blocker... I am sorry it took so long to make. It's good that you are learning to block me." She stared at Mira awkwardly, it was strange to see her younger sister that way. She was usually so confident and bold. "This blocks out powers or magic within your mind...

Sorry, again I was so focused on getting you back... You wear it around your ankle. You don't want others to suspect you know a mind reader, although some use it to keep from having visions or their dreams entered."

"Thank you... I was wondering Tisaine, are you engaged?" Tisaine was taken aback for a second. Of course now she couldn't read her thoughts so she had no idea what prompted her to ask.

"No, after losing you, mother and father weren't so focused on becoming a more powerful family anymore. They focused on us, on making us as strong as we could be."

"Is there anyone you are interested in?" She wondered where this was coming from. 'Did her sister still miss the king?' She had been giving Mira space the last couple days and now was blocked from her sisters mind so she couldn't be sure if her older sisters mind still traveled to him. Tisaine answered no to her sister and so they spent most of the afternoon talking of other things. However when Tisaine went about to run some errands by herself later that day her mind flashed back to the man who had been haunting her. She remembered him sharpening his claws with the slab she had been bound on top of. Instead of being scared she felt goosebumps running up her spine at the sound. Annoyed at herself she made sure her face betrayed no emotion beside comfort. She was worried about her dulled power but if she could relax herself she could think her way out. He thought about how attractive she was. 'Good'. She would use that. But then the attraction grew like a force, like a hunger. 'It was so strange. She was in his head and she seemed to feel what he felt, about herself'? Suddenly he snapped himself back to reality, bringing her with him. He had a mission.

"How did you rally that rebellion?" While trying to iron out her thoughts. She calmly told him the truth. She prayed on the human rebellion that would give her the chance to snatch Emiraine. She had no need to lie and knew he was listening for her heart to betray the truth anyway.

She told him who she was but when he threw in her face that her own sister did not know her, she was wanted to pounce on him. Against his own instincts he dug his sharp nails into the wound she received when he tackled her earlier. This was unexpected and she quickly worked to stifle her pain not wanting to give him the satisfaction of her suffering. With a firm grip on his mind she suddenly felt on fire. His thoughts became fierce all of a sudden. She was feeling more then her physical pain, was she feeling her pain within his mind? She was feeling his burning anger until he released his grip on her. At the time she believed his emotional inner anguish was due to his hatred of witch's or a deep denial over what his family had done. However she read his own confusion at his inner conflict. Then she heard it. He gave a speech she could barely listen to over the roaring of his subconscious screaming the words again and again.

"Mate! Mate! MINE. MY MATE!" Tisaine felt the need Damanos's subconscious yearned for. The need to be near her, see her, smell her, never let her go. For the first time that day she was scared. She didn't like how overwhelming his emotions where. His feelings where becoming her own. The craving for herself was overbearing. She was glad when he left her there alone, seemingly ripping his self away from her. She remembered knowing she had to escape soon. If she stayed there much longer she knew the prince would not let her leave, his hunger would not let him. Even worse if she continued to experience this same intense need she was afraid she wouldn't want to.
