25 Little Lath

"She's been kidnapped!" It took a minute for the words the queen repeated to sink in. As she understood her bright green eyes seeped red. An outsider would see only anger in queen Isabella's sharp features. They wouldn't see that she was swarmed with emotions right now. She felt for the sweet mother and father she had hosted in her court many times and the child that if alive may be hurt. She worried at the war that might be unavoidable due to the girls kidnapping. She fumed over the loss of a stronger bloodline. Most of all her heart ached for her child. Her first born. How blessed both families felt when deciding their children's fate that they found the pair were mates. This was not a thing amongst witches but amongst dark creatures this was a very lucky occurrence to find ones mate. You would be stronger, fulfilled. Yes the gods had smiled down upon the future union. "Any word from the witches?" The queen asked her messenger.

"No. They are of course searching for the girl, but they can not sense her so they fear the worst." This tugged at the queens heart.

"Send search parties out in our lands." I don't see how any Dradien could kidnap the girl from a coven of powerful witches the queen thought to herself but either way if an enemy of the witches was hiding on their land she wanted to apprehend them to avoid a war. She wanted to find the sweet little girl, her oldest child's mate and future queen of Dradien.

"Queen Isabella, your child wishes to enter the throne room." F*** the queen cursed to herself it was as if he sensed the bad news.

"Let him enter." A pale little boy with dark hair tied back walked to his mother and gave a short bow. He looked very serious as always. The queen smiled. "Yes Lanthier."

"Is she not coming today." The queens heart stung at the question.

"No son do not worry you can continue to play she is not coming." She said in the most steady voice she could find.

"Good." The little boy replied and turned around to leave the room. The queen nearly cried though she had not shed a tear in years. She saw the red swirling in the little boys eyes. She knew how much it hurt to be without your mate.

Lanthier went to his room angrily. He entered and kicked his favorite toy set he had left on the ground earlier. He hated when Emiraine was so far away. Lanthier was promised she would visit today. He knew her parents were very sweet but the little girl was to adventurous. He knew it was his job to keep her safe. He missed her so much it hurt. He wouldn't even mind if he had to play with her stupid baby dolls if he could keep his eyes on her. The future king tore his room apart breaking many of his things. When his work was done. He yelled out frustrated, then cried his self to sleep in a pile of his toys.
