27 After Them pt.2

Treya hopped off her her horse. Mezo her guard was starting a fire. She was exhausted but she had to gain some ground on her brother. She could feel him close behind for most of the day, but she was the sibling of war. She moved through these forest many more times then her brothers and her senses were heightened the farther away she got from that damn castle. She used shortcuts to put herself ahead but now they needed to rest. Mezo heated up a dead rabbit he had caught earlier on the fire. Just enough to warm it. It was so much easier to travel with a vamp then a man or demon soldier.

"Mezo we are lucky for your catch." She tore a rare piece of rabbit off and chowed down. She loved being away from court she didn't have to be a lady.

"Why anything for you princess." She slapped her guard on the back of the head. He chuckled. She sat by the fire with books and maps from the royal library. She needed to study her enemy.

_______________

Lanthier was trying to gain on his sister all day but the forest was her play place.

"F***, little brat." He mumbled to his self. Everytime he got close she seemed to be able to slip away again. It was his fault really. When his sister said she wished to become a soldier he made her start from the bottom and work her way up. There was no nepitism. She quickly gained the respect of his army. She was the fiercest general at 4'8 ft. and the youngest at 20 yrs. old. She had run many missions through the forest where as he was usually leading his army. Lanthier wouldn't have had this problem if he would have killed his siblings when he received the thrown. This was not something his parents taught him to do but he knew this was common in other kingdoms. He had raised his sister since she was 9 and he was 16, when he took over the throne from his slumbering mother. He had watched over her and been tough on her. He had let fade away most of the teasing and tradition that came with being and older brother. He mostly encouraged her to be strong and murderous. He would not push her into marriage to align his self with another kingdom making Dradien more powerful. He was aggravated at her evasiveness, but he was also proud. Treya was his obstinate daughter showing him up. He decided it was time to stop and rest. He didn't want to, he wanted to catch his sister and make sure she was his allie in catching the witches and if not he would command this rogue soldier to go home. He knew she saw the women as a threat to the kingdom and with no formal orders from his self she was free to make choices as a general, choices to protect Dradien. He tied up his horse and filled his canteens in a nearby stream then bathed in the cool water. This was very refreshing and much needed since he still wreaked of the forest and the animals he had murdered in his demonic state. He some food packed away food. He craved a fresh animal with warmer blood but didn't want to waste any time hunting. He laid down on his knapsack on the forest floor telling him self again he should keep going however, deep down he wanted to sleep, couldn't wait to dream, because sometimes she was there.
