2 The Loss

"Bro wake up we have reached school." Austin shouted while pushing Josh. Josh wakes in excitement and fixes his hairstyle so that he doesn't like he slept even though he had slept. He drinks water and then picks his bag and they both get down of the bus. While waking in the campus they both were quiet and were just looking around at other students who were enjoying alone, talking with, doing homework together and while of this of happening Josh all of this was thinking about Kara "Why do you steal people's happiness if you are self are not happy, if you are happy by seeing others sad then you are nothing but a sadist and a genocide at the same time." Josh went to the computer and technology section of the campus while Alex went to the medical science section of the campus, both were tall brown buildings of 6 floors and each floor had 5 classrooms. The buildings were had huge hall which had big cafeteria where you can buy anything you want but the only catch is that it's little expensive. Josh went to his class and said hi everyone and sat on his table which was made of wood and metal. The first few periods were ok for Josh, while in the break Josh was eating a burger he bought from the cafeteria and then read the headlines of the news," Breaking news, Large plutonium deposit found outside Vegas, will Kara be attracted by this?" Josh laughed and thought," That's not something you ask even though you know the answer of the question." And continued eating his burger and unexpectedly two big students who were senior of Josh and didn't had a good relation with him came and snatched his burger and angrily threatened him," we are in a very bad mood and if you don't want anything to happen to you let us have this or else it won't be good for you." But Josh stood and shouted," That's my burger and if you are in an angry mood don't throw your anger on others and just because you are stronger than others doesn't mean that you will start bullying other people" and the guy said nothing and punched hard on Josh's face, it was so hard that he could feel his face getting squeezed forcefully and he fell on the ground hard. Everyone came and started to circle around him and the two boys, Josh stood up again not giving up but this time the other guy gave him a good punch and he fell on the ground again, as he was struggling to get up he saw everyone were laughing on him. He got up but again fell after eating the punch and was in half fainted condition and as he was about to get another punch the coordinator of the section quickly intervened and stopped the fight in time. Josh was picked up by his friends and took him to the care centre, each building has its own care centre. The care isn't very big but has two beds and 3 cupboards. Josh's face was as red as a tomato and his nose was bleeding. The nurse gave him ice packs to stop his bleeding and to reduce the swelling caused by the punches and he rested the whole day. This was the 5th time in this month and sick of this continuous being bullied by his seniors, even his parents complained but that was not enough. While Alex laughed looking at his face but then asked him," Got beaten again, it's the 5th time this month, why don't you do something about it, back at old times when we were at school every bully use to fear you but what has happened , you were never like this?" Josh didn't said a word and quietly stared outside the window bus.

When Josh reached home, his whole family at night surrounded him and begin to ask him one question over another and Josh answered them all. His mother was psychologist so she knew what kind of question to ask to him," Do you fear those bullies, if you don't then why don't you defend yourself from them?", "I am not sure I want to defend myself against them", "Then you are a coward Josh, is it ok for you to get beaten up every day just because you are too afraid to stand up against someone", "I don't know" Josh noted, from behind his father gestured," Let him be Kassie, no matter how much we tell him in the end it's up whether he wants to come out of his comfort zone or not and you Josh I think your mother is telling the truth you should stop being a coward and show them that they should not take your silence for your lack of grief." Kassie was his mother's name. When she was talking to Josh the redness could be seen on her pale skin and her long blonde hair could be seen flying in the air and trying to cover her small nose but her blue eyes only paid attention to Josh. Kassie calmly told," You are right Sam and Josh please just don't get beaten next time because I can't see you getting beaten up every day." Kassie almost begin to cry but then controlled her emotions and went away and his father Sam followed her to comfort her. Josh sat down in silence with no words coming out of his mouth like his lips must be sealed type of silence and was indulged with self-guilt, it was the guilt of knowing self-defence but not defending from someone. His grandfather sat beside him and put his hand around his neck. He could feel the old thin skin being put around his hand for his comfort. Josh's grandfather always loved him more than Josh's father and even his little cousin brother sat beside and him and put his hand on his feet to comfort him and saying," Don't worry, I know one day you will show them the consequence of taking a fight with you.", " Thanks for your support Alex." Politely replied by Josh. His grandfather also explained him," Son, bullies just show they are strong but they aren't, they are weak from inside but you are not weak from inside and outside and you have the ability to do it then why aren't you doing." Josh replied," it's just that I don't like to fight anymore." "But you are not fighting at all you are just defending yourself from them and there is a difference between fighting and defending." Josh nodded his head and sat down quietly knowing his mistake. His mom came after some asking about dinner but grandfather said that they would eat outside today, he and Josh alone. Josh was very happy and quickly changed his mood and went upstairs to get change. He quickly came downstairs after getting ready and both of them took their raincoats as it was raining outside and exited the house. He and his were just walking and talking about different things and deciding where to go and just then they saw four Kara members were robbing a group of friends and Josh told his grandfather," Let's just leave them we don't want anything to happen or make in them for us." "Josh, I did not expect this from you, they are robbing him and you are watching those people getting robbed but still ignoring the fact, I am going to help them even if you don't want to come." Josh tried to stop him but he did not listened to him and went to help. Josh wasn't confident nor courageous and couldn't make a decision and as his grandfather went closer to them his fear was also growing and he took one step at a time and went slowly to follow his grandfather but by the he could reach him he already started arguing with the members. His grandfather shouted on them" Hey you guys, don't you get satisfied with what you get that you steal other people's money also, you should be ashamed of yourself for doing such act of crime but I know you people are terrorists and you don't feel anything at all, you will always be the same." All the members started laughing and then one of them said, "Shut your trash talk old man and walk away from here or else it won't be good for you and you may not come back single piece." "I am not afraid of your threatening, Leave them alone." And Josh screamed from behind, "Just leave them grandpa, they are not someone you take a fight with and they are very dangerous people please just come back." But his grandfather didn't listened and as he was about turn to their direction those people gave hard slam on his face with gun and he fell down and begin to crawl helplessly towards Josh and Josh ran towards his grandfather but knocked him out also and Josh crashed with a car and fell down on the road heavily injured. Josh couldn't move and tried to crawl towards his grandfather but two of the members started kicking him until blood came out of his mouth and he wasn't able to move at all like all his body parts were paralyzed, then they came towards his grandfather and pointed a gun on his head and Josh shouted," No!! Stop please leave him alone kill me instead of him, please don't do this we are sorry!!" but they didn't listened to him and then Bang!! Josh ears' went blind and all he could see were those people laughing and kicking on his grandfather's body and Josh just remained in the position and he saw blood coming out of his grandfather's head and he was just lying and not saying a word at all. Josh cried for help but the problem was no voice was coming out of his mouth and only tears were seen which were coming out like a tsunami and then he just laid there doing nothing and his vision was getting blurry and could only see people covering them in circle and just watching them but suddenly police and medics came to help and while all of this was happening Josh was just froze and shocked from what happened and wasn't even responding to anyone neither his family nor the doctors.
