26 Immortal General of the Legion [Rewritten]

A high-ranking officer honored every other soldier with her presence. The most bizarre about this officer however, was that she was a woman. Her uniform struck awe and amazement among the human soldiers which laid eyes upon her.

That said, nobody knew her title nor they knew she was a high-ranking officer. All they knew based on their eyes was that she was a military officer. Her uniform was something they had never seen before and quite incredibly and amazingly designed, which made them judge that she was definitely a military officer.

Perhaps if this was their general, they would drive forth into battle with no second thoughts for her. Every man would gladly follow this officer that even for just looking at her gave them motivations. In addition, they sort of wanted to have a glimpse of her face which was covered by a mask. Furthermore, her long hair was so smooth and silky looking, adding that, they imagined that she would undoubtedly be so beautiful that no one would be able to resist her.

However, unfortunately, this officer was an enemy of the humans.

And this officer gave the humans a cold gaze which showed no interest towards them.

This officer was Adrasteia which possessed absolute beauty which was on par with the Holy Maiden of Providence. Even with her cold gaze, all will be bewitched by her unique beauty.

The soldiers had begun their attack and she was about to do the same.

However, she noticed something about the humans. Some of them were, in a word, distracted. They were looking at the Holy Maiden. Of course, such majestic sight would mesmerize anyone who laid eyes on it.

However, they were on a battlefield and they were being distracted by something like that! That was unreasonable.

How foolish. Distracted by something trivial as that. Foolish soldiers.

She thought as she used one of her abilities. Then a large cannon appeared out of thin air which was pointed at the humans. The cannon was also floating which surprised other soldiers who were looking at her. The cannon had a pretty complex design which in a glance, one could think it was futuristic.

Just then, some of the soldiers had finally snapped back to reality. However, before they could manage to shoot, a large blue beam hit them first. The magical beam obliterated every human which was in its way while also creating a gap on their defenses.

Hmm, this cannon is too much.

She thought as the cannon shrank a little.

Well, I never used this ability yet really. So this is a good practice.

She moved inside the defenses of the humans as countless projected launched towards her. However, she paid them no heed. Their attacks were insignificant, therefore there was not a need for a strand of concern.

There were numerous soldiers surrounding her. It would be a hassle to just use one cannon against them. Therefore, she conjured another cannon that was the same size as the first one. Besides, this would be the best opportunity to practice using more than one cannon.

Two magical cannons were now floating on both sides of Adrasteia. In an instant, the cannons revolved on their designated direction of attack. Then, blue beams spat out of the cannons, vaporizing anything in its wake, whether it was humans or objects.

She was unstoppable, she was eliminating targets at a distance with ease. She wasn't even damaged by any attempts of attack by the human soldiers.

She could just increase the power of her cannons. Every attack of her cannons cost a little bit of her mana. Even so, she couldn't just take out all of them in a single strike. There would be no target practice if there were no targets.

Besides, the goal didn't seem to be the total destruction of this town. If destruction of this town was the case, this town would have already been destroyed from the start.

Also, there appeared to be no threats. Therefore, this was a good opportunity for practice.

She unsheathed the rapier given to her by her master from her left hip. She brandished the sword as she tried to get the feel of it. She swung against the air to warm up.

Now, this would be a good chance to practice shooting her weapons while swinging her blade against her enemies.

She peered around to find appropriate targets. Anyone would do; however, it would be best to pick a place where there were more targets for the sake of practice.

In a short moment, she picked her target. Then she quickly went on the move with great speed. In the eyes of the soldiers, she vanished in an instant, leaving only her pair of cannons which was still shooting beams all around the place. Her sudden disappearance struck a feeling of shock on the soldiers.

Then before anyone could notice, Adrasteia already had her target within her reach. In an instant she swung her rapier, decapitating a soldier.

Shocked, the other soldiers frantically turned around to face her and attempted to open fire while some tried to step back. However, Adrasteia's blade was faster.

She swung her rapier all around with profound grace cutting down everything with ease.

As she smoothly switched targets, she dodged the blood flying in the air from the killed soldiers. She didn't want to stain the clothes given to her by her master.

After a short moment, her floating cannons had finally caught up to her and returned to both her sides.

These humans… gives no challenge. They are indeed weak.

She didn't feel tense. The only merit these humans gave was that she got to practice her abilities.

The humans' attempt to resist was useless. In turn, she was slaughtering the humans, slaughtering the weak.

We are indeed preying on the weak. But it doesn't matter.

Even if they prey and slaughter the weak, it didn't matter. No matter if they annihilate an entire city, no matter if they abused the weak or anyone else, Adrasteia will still follow her master. Yes, all that matter was her master and nothing else.

She will follow his command, no matter what the prey and goal would be.

All she cared about was her master. If millions would have to die for her master, then so be it. She will do everything for her master.

She charged again towards the humans. As this General cut them down, more soldiers trembled in fear. A human close to her has lost himself into fear and all that was left to him was his survival instincts. And his instincts told him the only choice was to fight.

That soldier – that was a few meters close to Adrasteia – opened fire while shouting.

"AAAAAHHH!"

As though she didn't care at all, Adrasteia turned her head to look at other places. However, as she did, she conjured another cannon and was pointed at that soldier.

Then, like no time to waste, the cannon opened fire and vaporized the soldier in a flash.

As Adrasteia stood idly, the floating cannons had positioned themselves on her left and right side as well as above her as those shoot beams vaporizing every human caught in their attack.

Even in the intense resistance of the humans, Adrasteia gazed coldly as ice at the humans behind her mask.

And this was Adrasteia, the Immortal General of the Legion. A loyal servant of Xyn Draven Nightfall.

The one who brings the wrath of the Dark Lord. The one who brings down the hammer of her master's wrath upon his enemies. She, herself, was the wrath of the Dark Lord.

She will follow her master anywhere. She will destroy her master's enemies and safeguard him, even at the cost of her own life.
