3 Lunch with new acquaintances

Then I went to my desk, tidied it up and looked around .In the cubical which I was assigned to there were five empty desks and two people . I think this is because office attendance is not mandatory except for certain days as Mr.Roman said. Then I smiled at two people who were present as they came toward me. Thin man with glasses was holding a brown paper parcel and a woman holding a lunch box.

"Hello, how are you? My name is Mike ." "Hi, My name is Melinda nice to meet you. "Said the man and the woman respectively with a smile. Mike is thin and wore glasses. His over sized dress gave him a nerdy look .Melinda on the other hand had a confident look with curious eyes. She had black hair and slightly brown skin tone.

"Hello, nice to meet you guys too. I'm the new member my name is Alan."I also introduced myself.

"Well Alan, we were about to have lunch. Would you like to join us?" asked Melinda. Mike also nodded.

"Of course, let me get my lunch." Then we walked our way to the breaking together.

"So, what are you guys working on?" I asked while we were eating .

"Oh, we are corroborating on a story about an illegal dumping of waste materials. "said Mike " Yes,past few days we have been investigating thoroughly and the issue seems to be quite serious as there are many factories and even hospitals involved . How about you Alan?" Asked Melinda.

Then I said " I'm also working on something similar. It's about water pollution in a village called Dark Hill village and it's effect on residents there. I was contacted by a local and I intend to stay there for few days to get the facts straight and see the issue for myself. "

"How exciting you even get to travel. Still Dark Hill village I could swear I have heard that name before but I can't quite put my mind to it. "said Melinda

"Now that you mention it, isn't that where many people disappeared eight years ago?" said Mike

"Yes Mike you are right. There were many theories about those disappearances but none were proven. It's like those people disappeared into thin air." Said Melinda with a slight frown.

"Well, I wish you good luck ."said Melinda "Travel safely you never know what to expect." said Mike

"Thank you. I wish you guys luck too."
