Prelude

The planet shook violently as it was on the brink of destruction. As vast and as large as this planet was it wasn't meant to withstand the force of two Divine beings clashing in the way that they were. The fight had been raging on for three weeks and it had completely obliterated any living thing that was unfortunate enough to call this planet home. Now the planet itself was next to go. What once was a thriving and beautiful planet was now a wasteland and the stage where this epic battle was about to reach its climax.

Zeva was exhausted, her clothing was ripped to shreds, her body was battered and bruised, and her energy was fading fast. She wiped the blood from her mouth, cursing how weak she was in her current form. Even though every part of her body screamed in agony she knew she couldn't give up here, she wasn't going back there, she'd rather die. She clenched her fist, gathered all of her energy, and charged!

The Warden was growing more and more irritated as the battle went on. It took him years to track down Zeva and a fight of this magnitude was not what he was expecting. Still, he had to admit she definitely lived up to the hype, even after leaving her heavenly body behind when she left the God Realm, she still managed to keep up and even match his strength. But he knew her power was reaching its limits and if he could just withstand her final gambit, he could bring Zeva back and claim his reward. His light, the only beautiful thing in his dark world, and the one thing he would go through anyone and anything to revive. Legend or not Zeva wasn't about to stand in his way, so he planted his feet and took his stance.

Zeva charged leaving a beautiful orange blaze behind her. She was moving so fast the surface crumbled beneath her feet and magma exploded from the planets core. The Warden knew there was no way to dodge this, if the legends held true not even God himself could keep up with Zeva's speed, but there was one thing she lacked in her weakened state and that was power. He tried to make a shield with his energy but before he could even finish his thought Zeva's attack reached him. The sound of the collision was bone-chilling and resounded throughout the entire planet. When the dust settled and the smoke cleared The Warden remained unmoved but not unscathed. Although the left side of his body and face both were destroyed by the attack, in his right hand he held Zeva by her throat.

"Kill me… Kill me please." Zeva pleaded.

"Alive." The Warden responded "A life for a life was the deal I made."

"He's lying he can't bring that girl back to life! And even if he could he wouldn't!" Zeva yelled out desperately

The Warden tired of hearing Zeva's pleading charged his energy, both regenerating his body and preparing for one last attack.

"Even if he is, I'm willing to take that chance." The Warden said as he fired off a huge beam of energy at point blank range obliterating Zeva's body and leaving only her soul behind.

"Nothing matters more to me than her and the light she brought into my life and without her I am nothing, only darkness" The Warden finished as Zeva's soul floated gently into his hands.

The Warden went to close his hands in order to secure Zeva's soul but was met with some resistance.

"Maybe this fight took even more out of me then I thought." He thought to himself.

But as he continued to try and secure her soul he realized it was actually Zeva's soul pushing back out against him.

"Why is she fighting me she lo-." The Warden started.

At that moment a bright light shone around Zeva's soul breaking her free from The Warden's hands and changing her into something different.

"NO! NO! NO! NO!" The warden frantically yelled out as he tried to stop her. He reached out trying to grab hold of the light but it was too late.

"Divine Soul Protection!" Zeva's voice rang out as her soul had now taken the form of a golden sword with a red ribbon around it. The sword simply floated there for a moment radiating light. The Warden himself was taken aback by the swords beauty for a moment before he remembered who it was and his mission. The Warden desperately tried to grab the sword but it flew into space with unimaginable speed before he could even get close.

The Warden not missing a beat quickly flew out into space to try and see what direction the sword took off in. He scanned the surrounding space desperate to find some hint as to where she was going.

Instead he found nothing, nothing but darkness.
