1 Starting College Life
Darby is finally heading out to college. "Are you sure you have everything?" his mother (Mary) asked for the fifth time. "Yes ma, I'm sure. I rechecked everything a few times already." Darby replied. Darby's dad (Sark) "She's just worried another bird is leaving the nest, first your two brothers and now you. Few more years and our only girl will be following suit. So far away 'sigh'" Darby and Sark laugh as Mary playfully hits Sark's shoulder. Darby yells "Is little Marcy (his younger sister) still on her tablet ignoring her older brother as he goes off to college?!" Marcy replies quickly "You're only going to be around an hour away anyway as you get your bachelor's so you'll come home alot anyway ... gosh not like your gonna miss moms Pho because of school!" They have a nice family group hug, and Darb gets in his car and sets off towards this new life awaiting him.
Around an hour later he turns off the highway and sees his campus in the distance. Lots of people roaming around and even more cars. Darby's thoughts "Ugh ... parking may be OH RIGHT THERE!" Darby quickly swerves into a parking space and collects himself. Internal thoughts "You got this man, you GOT THIS none of your friends came to college with you, but I can make new friends and have a grand college experience. I only need one year for my bachelor's anyway then I can transfer to State or Birch to be with my best buds!" Darby gets out of his car and heads towards his dorm building. Inside are two fold-out tables with R.As at them helping people fill out forms and handing out dorm keys. R.A 1 "Hello! and Welcome to Borks! Here are a few forms that you should read over and sign." Darby like most justs signs the papers without reading them. R.A 2 " Thank you! I'll take those papers." The R.A checks the papers then hands Darby a set of keys. Darby walks down a hall towards room 104. He opens the door and finds a room with 3 doors on his left, a bed directly to his right and one exactly like it against the opposite wall with desks between them and a sink embedded into the wall. Darby "Guess my roommate isn't here yet, so I get to claim stuff first!" He sets down his bag on the bed near the window by the sink and goes out to his car for the rest of his stuff. It took him 5 trips to get his belongings in but in the middle of his 3rd trip he ignored a phone call and only looked at it after he was done putting everything up/away. Mary bombarded him "Why didn't you pick up earlier?! Are you okay?! Did you get in a car acc-" Darby "Mom, Ma I'm fine. I'm sorry I forgot to call you when I got here but I wanted to make sure I put everything away first." Mary "Okay, so are you all moved in? Yes, then send me some pictures! Ooh it looks much nicer than when your brother was going there." Darby "Yeah, that's because he was stuck in the sports dorms for that tennis scholarship he got. Well ma, I love you but I gotta go get my books, parking permits, and see where my classes are I'll see you on the weekend."
Darby's inner thoughts "soo many people .. aaaahhh. No you got this let's just get stuff done." He follows signs and some of the crowd towards the student center building and sees multiple lines. He gets his parking permit and books and heads back to his dorms. The door is wide open and he sees a behemoth of a math in the doorway. Darby "Ke.. Kevin! Yo wassup man I didnt know you were going to Bork!" Kevin "Oh hey wassup man!" They fistbump.
