4 Chapter 4

Vale, a lad of thirteen summers, is chopping wood. It is obvious he is a complete beginner shown by the fact that there are more splintered wood than there is properly chopped wood. He pauses chopping and rests for a while as he ponders the events the days before.

Greenwood called so by its inhabitants because it is a green forest. Bounded by the Far Mountains in the north and the Wide River in the east, the home to a diverse number of non-magical and magical creatures. In a small part of this forest, the sounds of the denizens of Greenwood wakes guy up.

Guy opens his eyes. Guy feels weak and disoriented as he looks around his surrounds. Tree, tree, tree, tree, blood... blood!?! Guy sees it's his blood. Notices gore wound on his stomach. He spies the culprit at a distance. A deer twice his size with horns instead of antlers. An arrow piercing it's neck has led to its demise.

[ I warped to another world? Reincarnated? Transmigrated? ] Looks at his hands.

[ Doesn't look my hands. ]

[ System? Magic? Previous memories of owner?] Silence.

Tries to move with difficulty. Manages to prop himself up to a nearby tree.

[ Is this it? Dying immediately after transmigration? ]

Eyes are heavy, labored breathing and the wound feels on fire.

He hears a whisper. "Vale". A little louder. "Vale". He realizes someone is shouting 'Vale'. Guy shouts with all his strength, "Help!". He hears running as he passes out.
