Stay In My Grasp

"I-in the same room? Why?!" James asked in both shock and confusion at the situation. Noel had led him to the bedroom where they would be staying and there wasn't even a second bed! There was only one in the middle alongside some areas to put their clothes.

It wasn't that James didn't find Noel attractive or anything like that. In fact, James thought Noel was one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen.

The only problem was that James thought he may never get any sleep if he was beside such a beautiful woman. He didn't want to be rude and interrupt her sleep with his restlessness either.

"I requested that we be in the same room. If I need your help in the middle of the night how am I supposed to contact you if you're so far away~" Noel said innocently while clearly smirking in her mind.

James had a feeling that she would still be able to message him in some way but there was no way for him to deny Noel's wishes since the sect had left him with this job.

Noel thought she had finally won and smiled as she went toward the bed and got under the covers ready for sleep and possibly something else but instead she heard a sound.

SCREEECHHH!

A loud screeching sound went throughout the room making Noel jump as she looked in the direction of the noise.

In that direction was James who pulled a large comfy chair out from the living room to sit inside the bedroom, "What are you doing?!" Noel asked in confusion.

"I'm getting my bed ready so I can watch over you as you sleep. Part of my job is making sure everything is alright." James said as he sat in the huge chair which was enough to be a small bed for himself.

"T-that's truly not necessary you can sleep right here beside me and still survey the room!" Noel said almost desperately.

"No no, I insist. You go ahead and go to sleep I'll be cultivating here in the meantime." James said before he got in a lotus pose and began taking in the Qi around him.

Noel sat there in shock for a few moments as someone had never refused her like this before. People had asked to sleep in her bed before and even offered many rare items but she never accepted them.

However, now that she finally offered the chance to someone they refused her?! The shock was so much for her that she didn't realize at that moment that the black Qi inside of her began expanding in the trapped area filling half of it now instead of 1/4th.

For a moment Noel thought of grabbing James forcefully and making him lay down beside her with her Qi but she thought a fruit forcefully picked was less sweet so she decided against it.

'You may play hard to get now but we will see how things go from here~' Noel thought to herself with a clear interest in her mind.

It wasn't like she had suddenly found the love of her life or something along those lines. She had simply found someone interesting for one of the first times in her life so she was quite excited to see where it takes her.

After thinking some more on the topic Noel finally closed her eyes looking into her dantian and was shocked to see the black Qi had grown making her smile inwardly, 'So that's how it's going to be?~' She thought before finally falling asleep.

Meanwhile, James was currently sitting in a comfortable chair deep in cultivation.

When he had checked his dantian he was surprised to see that his realm had already been consolidated and there were no cracks to be seen from his breakthrough.

Since there were no issues moving forward he decided to start taking in the Qi around him absorbing it inside his body.

As he was doing this he began to notice his entire dantian full of Qi was getting darker and darker with each bit he absorbed.

He thought it might have been something bad at first but since he felt nothing wrong he only assumed everything was alright and continued on.

As he continued for some reason his mind began unconsciously traveling to other thoughts.

His thoughts began traveling to his parents again. When he thought of them there was an aching feeling in his heart that was driving him insane.

It had been only a few days since he had felt their loving touch and loving hold but something within him felt like it had been years.

This empty spot in his heart had to be filled no matter what the cost. It became so extreme that James entered a trance-like state.

When he was in this state the rate at which he cultivated skyrocketed despite him no longer meditating or being in a lotus position.

This trance state was driving him insane as his entire body convulsed and black Qi began surging around him.

While this was happening to James the two people who had black Qi inside them Cara and Noel began feeling unconsciously uncomfortable. They felt like there was an itch in their soul that needed to be scratched as soon as possible.

James also felt the connection to the two people as if he knew their exact location just from his senses alone.

When he felt Noel so close he began walking toward her in his trance-like state before sliding into the bed with her.

He got under the covers and huddled up close to her body pressing his body onto her own. When James did this the itch in both their souls was slightly lifted and the aching loneliness breaking James was slightly lessened.

However, there needed to be a little more.

From here Noel opened her eyes and opened her arms open for James. James stared into Noel's eyes as well with his pupils dilating into a dark black before he entered her grasp and let his body be enveloped by her arms while he also encircled her with his in a deep cuddle.

They both stared at each other like this for a while before they both fell asleep deeply inside each other's arms.
