Chapter 22:

"Hello this is Devil May Cry, what do you require?" Dante asked in a monotone voice.

???: "Yes, I need you to exterminate some rogue fallen angels for me. They go by the names Dohnaseek and Millet. Can you do it?"

Dante: "Hahahaha, what a coincidence! I have already killed them; they were causing a fuss in a town while I was nearby, and I decided to kill them because they were on the rogue list. Since I have already killed them will you still be paying me or no?"

???: "It is fine. You will still be paid the agreed amount. $100,000 per low-class fallen angel totaling to a total of $200,000 in sum. It has already been transferred thank you for your work."

Dante: "Of course, call again if you have another issue."

With that Dante hung up the phone and pulled out a laptop that has in the desk. Opening up his bank account he sees a sum total of, $5,975,500,500. "Not bad considering that I have hardly spent any money since I started as a hunter." Seeing that there was no more work he went home and enjoyed a 'peaceful' evening before going to sleep.

For the next few months nothing special happened, every morning Dante would pick up Akeno and he would drive her home after her club duties were finished. Every now and then he would do a mission, he did manage to unlock a new devil arm when he stumbled upon a lava dragon that was feasting on the dead corpse of a high-ranking ultimate class devil. "Alright, it should be about time for the fried chicken to arrive. Veronica please give me a status update."

After talking to Veronica Dante went and picked up Akeno and they went to school.

School was normal as always and Dante noticed that Rias was in a very bad mood, as always, as he followed them to the ORC building. Things were going well until a magic circle appeared in a flash of flames. Coming out of the flames was a young man in his late teens wearing a flashy white coat and pants that were adorned with gold and diamonds. "Ah, my wonderful fiancé, it is me your wonderful future husband Riser Phoenix." Rias' face turned ugly. As Riser was about to speak again Dante beat him to it, "Rias I didn't know that you called fried chicken for dinner. I am impressed that you know one of my favorite foods." Akeno didn't hold back and stated to laugh and Rias was barely holding herself back. Riser on the other hand was fuming, "How dare a mere insect insult myself a high-class devil and heir to the Phoenix family. If you grovel at my feat and say I am dearly sorry Riser-sama then I might spare your transgressions with only castrating, you." While saying this Riser had a smug look of superiority. It was Dante's turn to laugh this time, "Hahahah! You! Want me to grovel? Hahahaha, this is best joke I have heard in a while. Are you sure you are a phoenix and not a fried chicken playing clown?" Riser was about to explode as a silver magic circle appeared on the floor near Riser. When the flash from the magic circle dissipated a voluptuous woman in a maid outfit came out, she had short silver hair and silver hair along with a beautiful body that was wasted in a maid uniform if you asked Dante. "Riser-sama, I believe that it agreed that you wouldn't make contact with Rias-sama until the engagement ceremony. I will have to ask you to return home." Riser scoffed at the comment, "Fine, but before I go, I must make this pathetic insect pay for insulting my name!" While they were talking Dante was still chuckling, but his eyes were serious as they watched the maid. The maid looked at Dante, "Hello, my name is Grayfia Lucifuge, head maid, queen, and wife to Sirzechs Lucifer. My I know your name and reason to insult Riser-sama?" Dante calmed himself down, "Hello Grayfia-san. It has been ages since we talked so you honestly not remember me. I'm hurt." Dante faked being offended as he watched Grayfia's reaction. Her eyes narrowed as she tried to figure out who Dante was. "Here this may jog your memory." Dante tossed one of his cards to her and as soon as she laid eyes on it, she started to panic. "Riser-sama we need to leave now! This boy is someone capable of killing Sirzechs-sama should he feel like it." Everyone in the room, minus Akeno and Dante, had clear shock written on their face, "Don't leave so soon Grayfia-san. I have a proposition for the fried chicken. My girlfriend Akeno is good friends with the heiress of the Gremory clan and is her queen, as such I am willing to fight on her behalf to null the engagement." Grayfia was very nervous, she new that Dante could kill everyone in the room and leave her on death-row without even getting a scratch. Riser however wasn't buying it, "Humph, I don't believe an insect can be so powerful. I might accept your challenge if you are willing to offer something of equal the value of my pride." Riser didn't believe he could lose. Dante tapped his chin before snapping his fingers and calling out Nevan in her human form, "Should you win I will offer you my life and my prized servant Nevan that is a high-class servant and a vampire." Dante said this but Riser wasn't listening as he lusted over Nevan's body. "Very well then, I accept." Dante was laughing his ass of internally, "Okay then, Grayfia-san could you be a dear and let Zechs know about our bout and have an arena prepared in 3 days as I am a busy man. Please make it an arena type because I don't want to deal with the issues of buildings, pillars are fine but no buildings as they are a hassle. Oh, please tell my uncle too." All Grayfia could do is nod. "Well then fried chicken I will see you in three days, feel free to use your entire peerage against me as it will at least make the match interesting." Riser didn't get to say anything as Grayfia had already summoned a magic circle and taken Riser back to the underworld.

Rias was sitting in shock at the events that had occurred before her eyes, this boy that she had been attempting to recruit turned out to be a devil-king level figure. Next, he even made plans to break her engagement. "Dante-san just who are you?" Dante just chuckled at Rias' question, "Next time you see that sis-con brother of yours ask him about the white reaper then you will know. Akeno lets go, I feel like going to see the new 'Avengers' movie if your up for it." Akeno looked at him and gave a smile, "I was actually going to ask you to take me to it this weekend, but this also works. See you later Rias-kiacho." Before Rias could comment Dante and Akeno had already left.
