11 CHAPTER 11: Duel With A Familia Member

Aiden stayed up all night again. After resting for a while, he got up and went to the training ground to do his daily quest.

Aiden went back to his room after finishing his night training. Thanks to [Status Recovery], he wasn't sleep deprived. Just as he was going to have breakfast in the morning as if everything was normal, suddenly there was a change.

"Aiden, I've received reports from Tiona, Ais and Lefiya, but I want to see your skills for myself, so I want you to take on a duel." Suddenly Finn said.

"Thank you for seeing me so high, but captain I don't have the slightest chance against you, I'm only level 1 and even if there is someone else, as far as I know there is no one else in familia who is a combat type and is level 1 or 2." Aiden said.

"Don't worry, I won't be your opponent anyway, and we're just testing your skills, so it's okay to fight someone stronger than you."

"O-okay."

Afterwards, Aiden went to the training ground with the other members of Familia. Right in the center of the training ground, Raul was standing with a wooden sword in his hand.

'So I'm going to fight Raul, I don't know what kind of abilities he has, so I have to be careful. And he's a level 4, so he should definitely be strong, because Ryuu is also a level 4 and she is strong.' Aiden thought.

Then the Familia members and Loki took their seats and Raul and Aiden stood facing each other in the center of the training area. Aiden decided to use a wooden sword instead of his fists.

"Are you sure you want to use a sword? You normally use your fists as your main weapon." Raul said.

"No problem, my goal is to learn every weapon and fights are the best. I'll learn while fighting."

"If that's what you want okay."

"3

GO!"

"Here I go Raul-san!"

"Do your best!

*CRACK!

The two wooden swords clashed with a powerful blow. Raul's strength clearly exceeded Aiden's, but Aiden still tried to push back.

Raul was also holding back because he knew that if he swung at full power, Aiden's sword would break and Aiden would get hurt.

*FWOOSSHH

When the first attack was easily stopped, Aiden immediately jumped back and took up position again, but this time planning to use his skill.

"Huuu..." Aiden exhaled a deep breath and...

'[Dash]'

Mana flowed into Aiden's legs and Aiden started to feel the increased speed and...

*FWOOSSHHH!

Aiden rushed forward. Many were surprised by the sudden increase in speed, but of course it still paled in comparison to Raul's speed.

Raul immediately countered Aiden's sword and stopped it with ease.

'I still can't even move him. I didn't know there was such a gap between Falna levels. I thought Ryuu was specifically a speed type, but it turns out it's the stats. I wonder how much Ryuu-san was holding back against me. No, now is not the time to think about that!'

"Aiden, don't push yourself too hard, there's a big level gap between us, this is just a test of your skills." Raul said.

"Ugh!" Aiden retreated again.

'Wait, why do I always attack directly? Just because I have a sword in my hand doesn't mean I have to attack directly!' Aiden thought and a idea came into his mind.

This time, instead of going directly to Raul, Aiden started moving randomly around the training grounds. No one understood what Aiden was trying to do, but Aiden had an idea. He kept moving towards Raul, suddenly changing direction and sometimes attacking. You couldn't tell which one was a real attack and which one was a fake attack.

Meanwhile, he was trying to imbue his wooden sword with shadow mana, and whenever he failed, he discharged the resulting light explosive force by colliding it with Raul's sword.

Raul didn't understand why suddenly every time he collided with Aiden's sword the attack felt heavier than it should.

As Aiden continued to attack and infuse mana, suddenly a faint purple glow emanated from inside the sword and a system message appeared.

[Notice!]

[Effect: Duration of enhancement depends on the user's mana reserves and the quality of the equipment.]

[Item: Wooden Sword]

[Infuseable: 20]

After seeing the information, Aiden infused the wooden sword with 20 shadow mana.

The sword was now emitting a powerful purple light and Aiden knew that even this sword couldn't stop Raul, so instead of attacking Raul when he was right in front of him, he pointed the sword at the ground and the moment he made contact with pure mana...

*Booommm!

Raul jumped back to avoid the blast and the place went up in a puff of dust while system messages appeared for Aiden.

[Wooden Sword's durability reached 0]

And wooden sword broke.

[The skill [Swordsmancy] acquired]

[Skill: Swordsmancy]

[Level: 1]

[Type: Passive]

[Description: Swordsmancy is a basic combat skill that enhances the user's proficiency with daggers and swords, allowing for increased damage output in combat.]

[Effect: Increases damage dealt with daggers and swords.]

'Finally obtained this skill. Now I need to obtain other weapon releated skills.' Aiden thought as he looked at the system messages.

"Okay that's enough." Suddenly a voice was heard in the field. Aiden was still in the cloud of dust, but he recognized the voice and the look, it was Finn.

Then the dust cleared and Aiden and Raul shook hands.

"That was unexpected I'm really schocked. How did you do that?" Raul said with a friendly tone.

Then Aiden showed his sword that only remaining part was the handle.

"Well I infused magic power to the sword and make it explode." Aiden said.

"Wow that's really, unexpected."

"Yeah that was a truly good fight Aiden, also I know you still hide you trump card." Finn said to Aiden.

"Well thank you captain, but you know I can't show everything I have."

"Yeah that's good. Okay that's it everyone." Finn said and ended the duel.

After the duel Aiden moved towards to Hostess of fertility talked with Syr and continued training with Ryuu.

'I need to find an excuse to go on class quest, but what can I say?' Aiden thought.

Meanwhile, Aiden was training with Ryuu. Or rather, he was being thrown into buildings.

They practiced until it was time for Ryuu to start work. Afterwards, Aiden went back to the dungeon to pick up where he left off. At first he decided to finish the title quest and within a few hours he earned gold and stat points by killing killer ants, but these stat points were useless at the moment because Aiden couldn't increase his stat with stat points until he does the class quest or level up in falna.

Aiden went to the tenth floor. The 10th floor was a completely foggy land, home to orcs and monsters called infant dragon.

When Aiden got a little further, orcs started to appear. And Aiden started to take down the Orcs with his newly learned technique, creating explosions by colliding shadow mana with pure mana.

'I wonder if I can shoot this explosion from the tip of my sword or from my fingers.' Aiden thought and took a sword from his inventory.

Aiden took out the wooden sword and started using the [Infuse] skill, but instead of spreading it all over the sword like before, he tried to gather it at the tip of the sword and release it from the tip of the wooden sword.

The tip of the sword began to glow with a purple light and Aiden swung the sword but no energy was released until the tip of the sword accidentally hit the ground.

*BOOOMMMM!!!

A giant purple blast wave was released from the tip of the sword, blasting things in its path.

"That was awesome! It looked like Ichigo's first bankai's blast! I even felt like saying, Bankai! Tensa Zangetsu. But it took too much Shadow mana." Aiden said as he looked at the road of blasted monster's.

Aiden's shadow mana halfed and then Aiden just took all the magic stones left behind and then continued.

This time Aiden started hunting orcs without shadow mana, using only his physical abilities. The process was slow, but he managed to kill a few.

"They are hard to beat without creating explosions with shadow mana." Aiden did so and then killed more orcs for a while, but there was no sign of the Infant Dragon, so Aiden wandered around a bit more and then retreated due to the increasing numbers of orcs and returned to the guild, then to the hostess of Fertility and finally to the familia.

(Time Skip)

One day before Cannon starts and it was Aiden's day off, according to the familia.

Aiden had chosen this day for a vacation and said he was going to randomly walk around the city, and then he quickly went to the dungeon first thing and...

"Activate Class Quest."

The portal began to open in front of Aiden. And Aiden went in.

[Class Quest Started]
