1 Chapter 1: Start

I just died it was not in any kind of grand or spectacular way. It was just not that impressive. I did not save anyone either. In fact I would say it is on the same level as Kazumas from Konosuba. It was laughable. It was extremely out of character. As my name is or was I guess Jack Fallen. At the time when I was on Earth I was known as an expert assassin and hitman for hire. Imagine me a badass assassin dying because I was pushed off by a random person into a car.

Now here I was in a forest by a lake with a new body an a letter next to me with a case. I was hesitant at first. But then I thought oh well I just died who cares if it happens twice. I then read the paper and was shocked by the words on the page. It was a letter from God saying "Hey Jack sorry about the rush reincarnation or I guess transmigration whatever you want to call it. But anyways I read your mind and even though it was not your top choice I put you in Danmachi. However your powers are kind of top choice. You have demon like powers as your magic first off. How you want to advance it is your choice. So first you have control over shadows and dark matter however you have to make a choice if you want fire lighting or blood control as your other power. Any of the three will be demonic in nature. Now I'm the case you will find a sword a knife and two guns as well as your outfit/armor. All the weapons will be soul bonded with you. The two guns you are very familiar with. They are the guns connected with Alucard the Jackal and the Casull. The sword is Ragnarok from soul eater however there will not be a soul but instead it will pair with your new dark matter power. The last is the knife from your last life that you loved. The Ka-bar Marine Corps fighting knife. Then finally your outfit is the same as Chaser John Doe from Dream Eater Merry. Also the cat ears will be replaced by your actual horns."

I had finished the last word and the letter went up in flames and disappeared. I was about to go towards the case when I decided to look myself in the water to see what I looked like since God mentioned I have horns. I looked at myself and saw that I had black horns on both sides and pitch black eyes. My hand were normal except it was almost claw like at my finger tips. I took off my shirt and I had scars as well as a diamond shape pitch black pattern on my chest. At that moment something told me to say out loud the power I chose. At that moment I said "Lighting." Then like that around the black marks and scars as well as my claw like finger tips you could see flashes as well as movement of light blue lightning. My iris in my eyes also turned light blue but the rest of my eyes were still pitch black.

I then saw a screen of my stats at the moment.

Corruption S The user when extremely weakened or damaged. Will find an increase in power but has a possibility of losing control.

Blood of the Fallen SSS Consuming the blood of enemies will help with healing as well as increase power. Leads the user closer to Corruption.

Chosen to the Shadows S Has an easier time hiding in the Shadows as well as during night even under full moon can be extremely hard to find.

Magic

Shadow Sneak S Can form with the Shadows.

Shadow Thorns S Can form spikes from the Shadows to pierce enemies.

I looked at all my stats and was extremely happy some of them were very worrying for me if I lose control. I will have to make sure I do not. I went to the case and put on all my armor as well as the mask. I soul bonded with all my weapons. I decided to hold the knife and the sword on my waist the sword on my side and the knife on my back. However I decided to keep my guns within my soul as I do not want others to see them.

I was then thinking of which way to head to Orario when I saw that it was actually about a mile away from me as I was on higher ground I was able to see it. I took my time walking there thinking up plans as well as hoping I'm in a decent time of the story that way I have some familiarity with it. I was also thinking about what Familia to join. I finally reached the gate and decided to keep my mask on as I do not want people knowing that I look like an in fact am a demon. Because at least right now the horns look like a part of the mask. Plus I think my eyes would throw a lot of people off.

I was stopped at the front gate by a big burly man who was looking at me cautiously. I knew my killing intent was not out so I assumed it was the mask. The big man decided to speak "What is your purpose here." I responded by saying "To be an adventurer." He seemed to relax a bit at my response probably because my outfit matches me more. "That is fine. For adventurers there is no entry fee however you need to get a guild ID within two days or else you will be kicked out or a bounty will be put on your head." I nodded in understandment and said "Don't worry about it not only will I be registered but I will probably already be in a high up familia by then." He just grunted thinking I was overconfident and let me through.

I decided to walk through Orario a bit before I made it to the guild. I never understood how people do not know where the guild is. Like come on the guild is next to the big tower in the sky. While walking I saw all kinds of people. The younger adventurers thought I looked cool or fun to fight. The veteran adventurers seemed wary of me. Then the tough guys who can be considered bad and dumb thought I looked like an easy target.

After walking for a while longer I made it to the guild. I did see everyone's favorite elf Eina but I decided to walk up to a wolf like girl I am not familiar with. However as I was walking up to her I found out what part of the timeline I was. As I heard the door swing open abruptly I turned and saw the soon to be famous Bell Cranel covered in Minatour Blood.
