Chapter 20

After exploring around and the 17th floor and confirming the Goliath is not around. He went towards the stairs to the 18th floor. He saw the ceiling filled with crystals and was amazed a little. He explored through the woods and found the settlement made by adventurer's. He wandered through town ignoring the whispers about his appearance. He confirmed that the prices here were outrageous.

He continued to explore the town and found nothing of interest. He decided to explore the forest a bit to find a good camping area. It took a while but he eventually found it. A nice clearing which was empty except for a pond in the middle. He'll remember this area in case he needs a good spot to rest later.

He decided to restock here even though he doesn't want to but safety first. Eventually he was ready to adventure beyond the 18th floor. After a little bit he entered the 19th floor. He saw a giant tree in the distance and was excited to find what monsters lurked within.

He moved forwards and saw a few monsters in the distance and decided to move towards them. He spotted 3 bug bears just standing around. Though before he could approach them, he was shot in the arm by a projectile from behind. He turned around quickly and saw 2 Gun Libellula shooting more projectiles from their abdomen. He dodged the projectiles with a little difficulty and was about to charge towards them but the bug bears from before heard the noise and came to investigate. Now he's surrounded by 3 bug bears and 2 long range Gun Libellula. The Libellula continued to shoot at Akino while the bug bears blocked his retreat.

They were adamant about not letting him escape easily. Akino decided to ignore but keep his awareness of the Libellula and focus more on the bug bears since once he gets rid of them, he'll be in a much better position. He rushed towards the closest and tried to slash it several times. Just when he found an opening he got hit in the back by a projectile. He jumped back and redecided his priorities. The Libellula need to die first. He used Lightning slash and fire Lance and combined them to create "Electric Pyro". This is his first attempt to combine them in a fight so here he goes. He launched it towards the Libellula and utterly decimated them. It didn't end there though because the explosion that happened swallowed up the bug bears as well and even came close to Akino.

Akino took a knee due to how much mind that attack took. It took about 1/4 of his total mind meaning he can only do it 4 times before he gets a mind down. "It actually worked, Even during the tests they wouldn't do that much damage. So I was only scratching the surface. This is the true power of it". Akino was very happy though he would have to be careful because if he had used darkness embrace, he shuddered to think of the destruction it could cause. Not to mention the mind usage.

Though now he knows the limits to this particular attack, he can use it carefully. He went on to continue to grind on the 19th and 20th floor for a few hours encountering all sorts of monsters like battle boars, lizardmen, firebirds, vouivre, mad beetles, and a dark fungus.

It was a hectic day for Akino but very profitable, earning himself 459,950 valis plus a little extra due to item drops bringing a total of 610,500 valis. Like he said a hectic but profitable day. He went towards the Hostess to buy himself and his Familia some dinner and decided to head home. After walking for a while he finally arrived and handed the food out to which they thanked him and he went towards his room to meditate to help control his mind more and to take a break from everything. He mediated all through the night and in the morning, he opened his eyes and stretched out.

He went towards Miach to update his status from yesterday's fights. His stats look like this.

He was satisfied with this huge jump of stats and was waiting for the day that he'll finally be able to get his revenge on Evilus. Though that's in the future. At least for now.
