3 Chapter Three

It's a wonder.

Why the gods are not united, surely, they would stand a better chance if they piled their resources and used them to make their familia members stronger, much like Zeus and hear Familia did.

That, or kill each other to take each other's resources.

I held up the falcata in my hand, testing the balance which was... not satisfactory. Sighing, I placed the blade back in its place and went on with my inspection.

Seriously, how hard was it to find a decent Smith? But that was too harsh, we had a smith that was always ready to make our weapons, used to our tastes, knowing how to make a specific weapon perfectly.

And so far, all pieces of armor I found were disappointing as well. Too bulky, too thin, why was that one a bikini?

Degenerates. You're making armor, not discount adult video, you can't even record "The naughty adventurer stuck in a dungeon" so why even try?

As my eyes darted around the seventh workshop I visited, I noticed a box that was covered with a cloth. Tilting my head in curiosity and crouching down, I uncovered the box only to see armor inside.

It was white with red linings, not very suited for blending into the shadows. Picking up a chest piece and weighing it in my hand, I rose an eyebrow in surprise.

Perfect weight.

Turning the chest plate over, I saw what I was looking for, the signature.

Welf Crozzo. If this man wasn't a one-hit wonder, I would pick him as a contracted smith.

Placing the armor piece back inside the box, I pick up the whole thing and walk over to the clerk who was looking bored out of his mind.

"Excuse me, do you have any more equipment from a man called "Welf Crozzo"?"

The question seemed to snap him out of the daze he was in and he looked at me strangely.

"Sorry kid, but that's the only thing I have currently, his products don't sell, anyway."

He waved a hand dismissively as if this passable piece of armor wasn't the only thing sealable he had in his shop.

Nodding, I took off my bag and took out the bag of Vali's that I nabbed while returning from the dungeon from one of the stashes the Zeus familia had made.

Thanking my old man mentally.

Taking out the required amount of Vali, I handed it to the Seller and grabbed the box.

"Could you pass on a message?"

The older man tilted his head slightly in curiosity.

"I will be at the guild from 9 to 10 for the next five days, I wish to discuss some matters with him, regarding armor."

He nodded and I left the shop, keeping the box in my hands.

I still needed to find a good smith so that I could make two Kusarigama to suit my tastes. The chains would be a problem, though.

Last time, I had a spell that would extend the storage space of a small box that was situated on my back, with the mechanism to retract the chain when not needed, the scythes were de-attachable, so I could use them without being concerned about my reach.

I could replicate the spell, but could the smiths make the contraption?

Well, there was only one way to find out.

From what my grandfather told me, there was a monster on the thirty-seventh floor that would have a sword that would remain after it was killed, it should be enough for a few years before I had to replace the weapons...

Well, it is what it is. Let the future problems be dealt with by the future me.

___

"I'm back."

I said as I entered the church basement, placing down the box next to the door. I also needed a cloak but that would come later.

"Bell!"

I took a step back and watched as Hestia slammed into the door face-first, sliding down to the ground comically.

"Why did you move away?"

In all honesty, I felt her coming and my body reacted.

"I thought you were attacking me."

She stared at me like I was the weird one, which, considering what just happened, was the other way around.

"Why would I attack you?!"

I just shrugged and took off my clothes. I needed to know how much Excellia, which was basically EXP, I gained from one day to make calculations.

Considering that there were people with years of experience but still level two, it could either be hard, or laughably easy.

"Oh! You want to update your status?"

Hestia jumped to her feet, seemingly forgetting about what just happened, and went for a stack of papers that were on the table, grabbing one and bouncing over to me excitedly.

Taking off my shirt, I turned around and bent down again, waiting for her to get it over with.

"Woah! T-this is... What is this?!"

Woman, I'm standing right here, can you not shout my ear off? Thank you.

"Are you done?"

I felt the paper she had on my back for a brief moment before the light disappeared.

Bell Cranel

•Strength: I-95.

•Endurance: I-91.

•Dexterity: I-97.

•Agility: I-93.

•Magic: I-99.

Magic: élenchos.

Skill: Black Hole.

_

So, this is how it works here.

Instead of giving me experience, or Excellia in this case, the "Black Hole" distributed everything relatively evenly across the board. And I didn't kill that much either, about fifty to sixty monsters.

From what I understand, not all of Excellia was absorbed by the adventurers when they killed a monster, some of it either got dissipated or got re-absorbed back into the dungeon, which never got found out.

It could be the reason why monsters took time to "respawn" after they died like the goliath, that spawned once every twelve days.

But my skill made me absorb everything that was given and answered my question at the same time. This would be laughably easy.

Which was good.
