Honored Orario

"Arghhh, that damn truck." A boy of around sixteen years old held his forehead as he cursed out loud. The people passing by couldn't help but look at him strangely before going their way.

That was the men, the women however took a fiery second look at him as if they were going to eat him alive.

Though the boy's current annoyed expression prevented them from approaching him.

To be honest they couldn't really be faulted as the boy was for all terms and purposes extremely good-looking.

Ha has black, spiky hair that is close-shaven on either side of his head and has a single bang falling down on his forehead, as well as two blue streaks running upward at the front. He has thin and sharp eyebrows that curve upward toward his temples and level out past the top of his ears, light-colored eyes, and a pronounced jawline. He wears a blue jacket with a furred collar over a dark shirt emblazoned with an animal skull,[1] as well as a pair of black fingerless gloves with a backward-pointing metal spike attached to a ring on each finger and thumb, gray pants with a sweater tied around his waist, and black sneakers inscribed with an X on the tongues.

his appearance although unusual for the people of this city was without a single doubt extremely attractive, there was also this bad boyish aura to him that seemed to work like a magnet.

"Hm...? It doesn't hurt anymore... wait, why am I even fine?" He was sure of having been run over by a truck, but here he was fine and healthy with but a passing headache.

[Ding! Congratulation you have been bestowed the gift of transmigration by an unknown entity.]

As he thought, a robotic voice suddenly rang in his head.

"Ha fuck." He was no idiot, putting two plus two together wasn't hard at all. Judging by what the robotic voice said and the fact that he was just run over by the truck, his mind directly came to a conclusion.

Opening his eyes and looking around, thing he couldn't do until now due to the sudden headache he was experiencing, he was forced to accept that this was clearly not his world.

Those streets, those houses, those people, not even talking about their clothing, the fact that there were humanoid people with animal characteristics walking around as if it was a normal occurrence.

"I have become a victim of STBT." STBT meant sudden transmigration by truck, it was a term he used to describe all those fictional characters that have been killed by a truck coming out of nowhere before being transmigrated into another world.

[As a result, you have been bestowed with multiple perks.]

"Hold on." The boy said as he walked toward a bench not far from his current position.

"Go on." He voiced after sitting down and crossing his arms, not bothering with people looking at him strangely because he was speaking to himself, he simply didn't care.

[You have been given a new body in accordance with your inner desire.]

[Your age has been regressed to one that you would consider acceptable.]

[You have been transported to a location you would consider adequate.]

[You have been given the ability to understand the common language spoken in this world]

[Lastly, You have been given a system.]

[Would you like to disable the system?] [Yes/No]

After thinking for a while, he clicked on no, of course, he wasn't going to get rid of his only support in this... new... world, that would be straight-up stupid.

[Would you like to have the system-related information transferred to your mind?] [Yes/NO]

This time he didn't clock on yes just yet, instead, he closed his eyes for a good ten minutes as he was debating mentally and coming to terms with his new reality.

Which as strangely as it would seem was quite easy for him, why? Simply because he had no attachment to his former world.

His name was Mark, and he was a thirty years old office worker who ended up losing his job because of covid, he didn't have many friends, to begin with, but let's just say that after him isolating himself he ended up losing the rest of them. As to his family? His father disappeared on him and his mother one day out of the blue while his mother died when he was twenty. To put it simply, he was alone but he was quite lucky in his own way as he was one of those rare people that are not bothered by solitude so he still lived on quite well.

Until some minutes ago while he was coming back from grocery shopping, he became a victim of a truck accident, a truck that seemed to come out of nowhere.

"No use thinking about it too much." He came to that conclusion as he clicked on yes.

Feeling the information literally flow into his brain, he was satisfied since contrary to what he expected it didn't come with any sign of pain.

"I see, so that's how it is."

"Status."

[Name: N/A (Mark Thompson)]

[Age: 16]

[Level: N/A]

[Magic]

[Skill]

Inventory

Sin of Pride

*

"I have a skill?" He was mildly surprised since he wasn't really expecting anything.

Inventory was system-related and it has just been classified as a skill for convenience purposes, while Sin of Pride was something completely new and probably unique to him.

[Sin Of Pride]: Being a transmigrator, You have pride etched into your bones, making you different from all others. Your talent is only equal to your pride, thus the more prideful you are and act, the more talent you would have and manifest in all and anything you would endeavor.

After clicking on it, the description appeared before his eyes.

This description was easy enough to understand, to put it bluntly, he has a build in plot armor.

"I will take it." He said as he grinned a little, but the grin disappeared as quickly as it came when he started to contemplate another matter: his name.

The system marked it as N/A meaning he had none for now while his past life's was between parentheses. Meaning he had to choose a new one and he couldn't do it half-assedly either.

He always hatted those fanfic authors that would put their main characters into worlds like Naruto and call them Bob or Alex, that was just straight-up disrespectful to the readers.

He had to take the cultural disposition of his current world into account. But that shouldn't be hard since his current world was none other than Danmachi. Althought he didn't know which timeline he was in, he would be a foul to not even recognize the city of Orario considering he watched two seasons of this anime.

"What should it be? I will have to choose and quickly." he muttered as he looked high in the sky at the position of the sun, from it, he could guess they were in the morning, though he wasn't a specialist so he couldn't guess exactly the time.

As to why he had to worry, it was because he had nowhere to go, and nothing to eat. If he doesn't find something quickly before nightfall, he would have to sleep outside, and that was just out of question.

There were many things he could do to remedy this situation, but the one that he favored the most was becoming an adventurer if he did he would be able to join a Familia and at the same time, he would get a place to live at.

Yes it was dangerous and he could possibly lose his life, yes it was a rushed decision and he didn't exactly think it through, but so what? He already decided so, it was only natural he would become an adventurer.

And not becoming one would mean he couldn't really get strong... which in this kind of world may as well be a crime. Not speaking about the fact that he wouldn't be able to get the most out of his system without becoming one, because yes, his system's main function is linked to the falna system.

There is a reason why its name is "adventurer support system" after all.

Now back to the name, what should it be?

"Hm... I have decided." With that, he got up and started threading the main road upward, he didn't want to ask anyone the way there, instead, he just followed his instinct.

As he did walk by some reflective surfaces in which he could see his current appearance, although he knew it, he still found himself mildly surprised, so after looking at himself for a good five minutes, he resumed walking.

And sure enough, he eventually found himself before the pantheon, the main building of the guild. Due to its unique appearance, it couldn't even be mistaken.

So without wasting any time he walked in, ignoring the people that were looking at him due to his abrupt appearance, he eyed the different counters and the people there.

Recognising Eina, the protagonist's adviser, he started walking toward another counter where was a crimson-haired woman with fluffy ears. He didn't want to deal with Eina, they wouldn't get along since he find her too damn annoying.

"Hello I am Rose Fannett, what can I help you with?" She spoke with an indifferent expression.

"I wish to register as an adventurer." He simply stated his business.

Rose wasn't surprised, she didn't remember ever meeting or hearing about someone with such a... unique appearance becoming an adventurer. People like that can't hide even if they want to, whenever they go, they would attract people's attention.

But she didn't really care though, he was probably going to die sooner or later... such was the fate of one who wish to venture into the dungeon.

She still has to go through the normal procedure though.

"Are you sure? Have you thought this through? I have to make sure that you are well aware of the fact that you could potentially lose your life." She voiced professionally, there were no such things as worry or interest in her voice.

"..." He didn't even answer, merely looked at her intently.

"Understood." That was enough of a response for her. Sighing internally about the fact that another promising young man was soon going straight to his death, she took out some files and handed them over to him.

"Please Fill out those files and sign this after reading it. You can do it over there." She indicated one of the numerous boxes where he could comfortably do it. But she then remembered something.

"I forgot to ask, do you know how to read and write? If not, I will have to help you do it."

Hearing her question, he took a quick glance at the paper in his hand and, sure enough, he could understand them just fine, it was rather instinctive as if it was written in English.

"Your help is not necessary." He voiced before walking toward where she pointed him and sat down.

Reading through the questionnaire, it was nothing too difficult, just basic information about himself, like his name, age, where he comes from, and so on. Some were obligatory, others not so much, so it all ended up working just fine.

As for what he had to sign, it was just about admitting the fact that the guild wouldn't take responsibility in case he died in the dungeon and all of that.

It didn't take a long time, it was merely a matter of tens of minutes. And just when he was done, Rose walked in and took the seat opposed to his own.

"I assume you are already done?" She asked.

"Right here." He handed it back to her.

After looking at it for a good minute she found out that everything was in order but she still had to ask one or two questions about it.

"I see that you didn't write down where you come from, nor the name of any relative in case something happens to you?"

"I do not wish to do so as it's... complicated." He said as he let out a sigh, wouldn't do well to speak about other worlds, would it?

Eying him for a good moment, she chooses to not comment and range the files, everybody had their circumstances after all, and there may be a reason why he wishes to become an adventurer other than fame and money, she didn't know and it was none of her business.

"With that aside, you have indicated not having joined a familiar yet, would you like some recommendations? Mr..." She took a second look at it realizing that she still didn't know his name.

But it was useless as he ended up voicing it out himself.

"Noctis... Noctis Caelum"
