Chapter 58: Athena Familia vs Ishtar Familia

(3rd Person: POV)

As soon as Morax pushed Phyrne into the forest Leonmitchelli took command.

Stepping forward she looked at the members of the Ishtar familia in front of her. In doing so she saw a hint of fear in Samira's eyes.

'This is why Morax said not to kill them.' Leonmitchelli thought.

All of them were doing this against their will.

"Hey, we don't have to fight you know." Leonmitchelli spoke.

"Sorry, but we do." One of the amazon's in front of her said. "You don't know Phyrne like we do. What she wants she gets."

"Yeah." Another amazon agreed. "Your friend just should've obeyed her and given her what she wanted. But now that he hasn't and even insulted her there's no going back." She explained.

"She's our captain. No matter how much we dislike her we will follow her orders." Samira said.

"Understood." Leonmitchelli said.

From the look in the eyes of the amazon's in front of her she knew they wouldn't back down.

Which she could respect.

Even if they were doing it for a piece of shit like Phyrne.

So with negotiations finally ending, the battle began in earnest.

The amazon's charged forward towards the Athena familia.

"Diluc, Rogue, Milli protect Echidna and Ryner. You two begin casting now. William cover the rest of us. Everyone else, with me." Leonmitchelli ordered.

As she did so everyone moved in accordance with her commands.

While Ryner and Echidna began preparing magic with Rogue and Diluc covering them. William began firing arrows at the incoming amazon's.

Meanwhile Leonmitchelli led the charge forward with Ryuu, Gaul, and Ardi alongside her.

As the four of them reached the amazon's they began to clash.

Blocking sword slashes from two amazon's with her blade Leonmitchelli held her ground and drove them back. Then once she did so she quickly maneuvered and slashed at them.

However they both evaded her attack easily.

Using her speed Ryuu rushed toward an amazon and moved to slash her across the back.

But at the last second her opponent jumped forward and dodged.

Just as she did so another amazon attacked Ryuu from her left side, landing a punch which sent her flying a few feet.

But due to all her training she quickly steadied herself and parried a sword slash aimed at her left arm.

She then lashed out with a kick, striking the amazon that tried to attack her in the chest.

A look of determination on her face as she did so.

'I won't lose here. Not to them.' Ryuu thought.

Especially given what Phyrne said would happen if she did. Her precious friends killed, and her forced to watch as Jamil raped Morax.

Thinking about these things set Ryuu's blood ablaze.

Not only with the need to protect, but also with jealousy as well.

Rushing forward she delivered a successful slash to the stomach of the amazon in front of her.

Dodging a punch thrown at his face Gaul delivered a kick to the amazon's arm in front of me sending her back and into one of the nearby trees.

Once he did this he prepared to move onto another target.

Only for Samira to appear before him.

"Hey cutie, play with me." Samira shouted at Gaul.

She then moved to drive a fist into his face, but using his left forearm he easily blocked it.

When he did so Samira let out a small wince of pain.

The difference in their power is great after all.

At the moment Samira is only a mid-level two, while Gaul is a level three who leveled up with extremely high stats in almost all categories except for dexterity.

The difference between them is like night and day.

Still, to protect her fellow amazon's Samira won't back down.

She moved to kick Gaul but he easily avoided her blow.

As soon as this happened Gaul delivered several punches to Samira in quick succession, the white-haired amazon barely being able to block them.

"You're pretty good." Gaul told Samira. "But I don't have time to play with you." He said in a serious voice. "Though if you wish to fight me again after you get stronger I wouldn't mind it."

Then just as Gaul said that he delivered a punch right to Samira's gut, before giving her another one to her head, driving it into the ground.

Just before Samira passed out she put a smile on her.

'Strong. And he's not bad looking either.' She thought.

Gaul didn't know it, but an amazon had just taken an interest in him.

Which would make his future very interesting.

But that is a matter for another time.

Seeing Samira was knocked out Gaul focused back on the other amazon and clashed with her once more.

As the vanguard dealt with six amazon's, the remaining four charged toward the others.

Ardi intercepted one, but the other three made a beeline straight for Ryner and Echidna.

Big mistake.

{Pierce, destroy, and rip apart. Hunt them down no matter where they may run or hide. Obliterate!}

Finishing her chant Echidna fired off several heat rays from the tip of her staff Gloom towards the amazon's approaching her.

Seeing this all of them dodged.

But as they did so Echidna simply smirked.

Redirecting the heat rays, she struck them all. Which caused them to cry out in pain.

But she ignored them.

After all they had been the ones to pick a fight with her and her familia, so she will show them no mercy.

They will reap what they sowed.

As the Amazon's fell the ground Ryner hit them all with [Izuchi] once again causing them to cry out in pain.

But just like Echidna he cared not.

Seeing their companions in danger one of the amazon's facing off against Leonmitchelli took out a dagger and threw it in the direction of Echidna.

But before it could reach her Diluc knocked it towards the ground using his Claymore sword.

"Shit!" The amazon who threw the dagger said.

"Hey, don't look away from me!" Leonmitchelli cried.

She then slashed toward the amazon who jumped back and dodged the attack.

Landing she gave a look at her fellow combatant.

Honestly both of them are surprised at the current situation.

To think a group of children who are mostly lower level than them are holding their own in this battle.

The two amazon's will give them respect for that.

However that is all they will give them.

They will achieve victory, no matter what.

Stopping their shared look the two amazon's got up and rushed toward Leonmitchelli with a new ferocity in their attacks.

As she worked to parry and dodged Leonmitchelli found herself being overwhelmed.

And she wasn't the only one.

Against the two opponents in front of her Ryuu ended up getting several bruises in an instant.

Same with Gaul.

Ardi who is facing a scimitar user is doing no better.

Seeing their friends in trouble the rear-guard wanted to help.

But they couldn't.

Since the amazon's in front of them were also counter-attacking with a new ferocity.

Blocking a kick with his claymore Diluc was thrown back.

Using her sword Millhiore parried stikes from the axe-wielding amazon in front of her. Though small cuts appeared on her body as she did so.

Seeing the situation and how it was slowly turning in the enemies favor Ryner decided to try out his new spell gained from his level up.

{I offer up this contract, to unleash the magic beast of light which dances through the skies!}

[Spirit Beast of Light]

As Ryner finished his chant several wolves constructed from light appeared around him.

Once they did he directed them towards the amazon's in front of them.

As soon as they attacked the amzaon's moved to deal with them. But that gave the others a moment to recover and regroup.

While this happened Ecidna once again cast [Jiwald].

As she did so several heat rays appeared and struck the amazon's once again, this time in vital areas.

Seeing the enemy momentarily stunned William placed several arrows in his quiver and fired in their direction.

His attacks stuck true, peppering the bodies of his targets.

But just as this happened Ryuu received a kick to her gut from one of her enemies and was sent flying into a nearby tree.

Then just as this happened the ground near Ryuu opened up and several Trolls appeared.

Seeing this Ryner cast [Spirit Beast of Light] again and his wolves moved to intercept the Trolls.

Allowing Ryuu to down a health potion and changes positions.

Seeing that monsters had now joined the frey Leonmitchelli clicked her tongue.

"Ok, enough of this shit." She said. "Time to end this."

Jumping back from her enemies Leonmitchelli began chanting.

{Black flames, come forth and burn everything until nothing remains!}

[Hellblaze]

As Leontmichelli called out the name of her magic, black flames appeared on her arms and legs as well as her sword.

This is the magic she gained from her most recent level up.

A fire-type enhancement magic known as [Hellblaze].

Once her black flames appeared Leonmtichelli rushed forward and lashed out at the amazon's delivering increased and powerful strikes to their bodies. While also leaving burns on them as well.

Before the two amazon's in front of Leonmitchelli realized they were being overwhelmed.

Their movements also started getting slower as well.

Thanks to the other effect of [Hellblaze].

It drains mind from anyone it comes into contact with, even if that person cannot use magic.

Which makes Leonmitchelli's magic even more devestating.

It also makes her the bane of mages as Morax likes to say.

A sentiment she agrees with.

Five minutes passed before the amazon's in front of Leonmitchelli were down for the count.

Once they were she rushed over to the Trolls and used her flame-cladded sword to cut them down.

Ignoring their screams as they burned to death.

Dodging a punch aimed at his head Gaul grabbed onto the arm of the amazon attacking him and then flipped her over his shoulder, driving her into the ground.

He decided to use throws since head-on attacks weren't working.

As the amazon attacking Gaul landed on her back, he droved his elbow into her gut.

Which make her eyes go wide before rolling into the back of her head.

Ending their battle.

Re-grouping with the vanguard Ryuu began chanting her magic.

As she did so the others covered her.

{In the sky of a now distant forest. Infinite stars scattered in the endless night sky. Respond to my foolish voice, give me now divine protection of starfire. Give the mercy of light to the one who abandoned you. Come, wandering wind, the wandering traveler. Cross the sky and run through the wilderness, run faster than anything else. Imbue the light with stardust and destroy the enemy.}

[Luminous Wind]

As Ryuu finished her chant multiple balls of stardust appeared around her.

One they did so she unleashed them on the remaing amazon's, striking most of them down before they could escape.

Thus this ended the battle.

Giving the Athena familia victory.

As soon as all the amazon's were unconscious the Athena familia began rounding them up.

But as they did so they heard a scream.

Phyne's scream to be precise.

"Agh!!!"

Hearing this all of them smiled.

Since they knew it meant Morax was doing just fine.
