142 Chapter 129: Athena Familia On The Prowl
(3rd Person: POV)
After the Athena familia left the room, Airmid was able to finish up Morax's physical examination.
Once she did so she left.
Then a few moments after she did Ryuu entered the room, and told him the plans Athena had put into motion.
"I see." Morax said. "Well if I'm going to have a bodyguard then I couldn't ask for a cuter one." He said.
"It seems like you really are fine." Ryuu said.
Given the cheesy and shameless comment Morax just made to her.
But that's one of the things she loves about him.
'I'm so happy he's alive.' Ryuu thought.
The moment she heard the news about Morax being attacked she found herself unable to breathe. Her blood ran cold, and she felt as if someone had stabbed her straight through the heart.
But now all those worries had disappeared, and Ryuu is determined to make sure they stay gone.
If anyone comes for Morax, they will experienced the wrath of Sylphid first hand.
Which is the new alias Ryuu received after reaching level five.
Morax being the one to suggest it to Athena.
Because he felt it fit Ryuu perfectly, seeing as how Sylphid is short for Sylph which are spirits of wind back in his previous world.
Honestly Morax couldn't think of better alias for Ryuu.
And she loved it as well.
Moving on.
After explaining the situation to Morax Ryuu stood up from her chair and took off her cloak and boots. As well as her Alf Lumina. She then pulled down her mask and slipped into bed with Morax. Snuggling him close after she did so.
"I see. So this is the kind of protection I can expect from you huh."Morax said.
"Yes." Ryuu answered.
Morax didn't have an issue with it at all.
He simply snuggled up with Ryuu and drifted back off to sleep.
Having no worries since his fairy elf is watching over him.

Leading her group Leonmitchelli arrived outside of the Ganesha familia home.
A few moments after they did so they were immediately escorted to Shaktis' office.
Finding her inside, as well as Ardee.
"Leonmitchelli, how is he?" Shakti immediately asked.
"He's fine. Morax is going to make a full recovery." Leonmitchelli informed the Varma sisters.
Hearing this news both sisters breathed a sigh of relief.
Shakti in particular. Since she is dating Morax.
"Good to know." Ardee said.
"Yes, it is." Shakti said. "But I asume that is not all you came here for?"
"Right." William said. "Athena tasked us with investigating who attacked Morax and why." He explained.
The others nodding their heads in agreement.
"Understood." Shakti said. "So here's what we know so far. All of the dead assassin's had falna. And all of them were forced to attack Morax against their will."
"How do you know that?" Rogue asked.
"They were all wearing slave collars." Ardee explained.
Slave collars. A magic item that forces those wearing it to comply with whatever orders they are given by the one who places it on them. No matter what.
"This just got even more complicated. I mean, who gives falna to people wearing slave collars?" Gaul questioned.
"There is one group in Orario who is known to do this. A crime familia called the Styx familia." Shakti revealed. "They specialize in slavery and human trafficking. Namely sex slaves and battle slaves." She explained.
"So the people who tried to kill Morax purchased battle slaves from the Styx familia, or the Styx familia themselves tried to take Morax out." William spoke.
"The latter." Shakti revealed. "We used status thief on the corpses to confirm this." She said.
Although status thief is an illegal item in certain cases it can be used, and the Ganesha familia is authorized to do so by the Guild for situations just like this.
"Ok. So we know the who, now we need the why." Ryner said.
Since as far as he can re-call neither Morax nor anyone in their familia has had a run in with the Styx familia. Either outside the dungeon or inside.
"Maybe someone hired them to kill Morax." Ariane suggested.
"That's plausible." Ryner agreed.
"But we have no proof to support our claims." Rogue said.
"Then let's just find the Styx familia and beat the answers out of them." Gaul said.
Since he is a simple guy at heart. He sees the solution to this problem to be easy.
And everyone in the room agrees with him.
They are going to track down the Styx familia and get some answers.

Inside of a room several men sat at a table playing cards and drinking boos.
Smiles on their faces as several women dressed in scantily clad uniforms served them.
This is one of the many illegal gambling dens within Orario. Which caters to criminals and the like. So long as you have money and can keep your mouth shut you can enter this place and have some fun.
And not just with the cards either.
But with the woman as well.
As the men in the gambling den continued to enjoy themselves, the door to the establishment was suddenly kicked in. Which caused everyone inside to stop what they were doing and look towards it.
When they did so Leonmitchelli walked in, her blade Elysium casually resting on her left shoulder.
"Evening all." She said.
"Shit, isn't that Cerberus from the Athena familia!"
"Fuck, what is she doing here?!"
Several of the men inside the illegal establishment began sweating bullets when Leonmitchelli entered. Since they knew how strong she was. As well as what familia she belong too.
The Athena familia, which cracks down on crime in the city alongside the Ganesha and Astraea familia. Their allies.
Walking casually over to the card table Leonmitchelli threw one of the men out of his seat and took it for herself. Putting her feet up atop the table after she did so. "So then, who is the boss of this place?" She asked.
"Me." The man sitting in front of her said.
"Good. You answered my question without any bullshit. That will make things much simpler." Leonmitchelli said. "So, you are wondering why I am here?"
The man in charge of the gambling den slowly down.
"Well the thing is my captain got attacked." Leonmitchelli said. "And from the evidence we have gathered it seems the Styx familia is involved, and we heard this place has ties to them. So I'll ask you, what do you know about them?"
"I hardly know anything." The leader of the gambling den said.
The second after he did so he felt an immense amount of blood lust directed at him courtesy of Leonmitchelli.
"It's not good to lie to me." Leonmitchelli said in a calm voice.
But the calmness is what scared the criminals around her even more.
"I'm not!" The leader of the gambling den cried.
"You know for someone who plays cards your bluffing sucks." Leonmitchelli said. "It looks like the easy way isn't working, so now we're going to do it the hard way." She said.
As soon as she did so the man screamed at the top of his lungs.
"Guards! Come and kill her!" He said.
Only for no one to respond.
"What?" The man questioned.
A second after he did so four objects landed on the card table.
They were the heads of his guards.
"Agh!!!" The man screamed at the top of his lungs.
But Leonmitchelli ignored it.
Instead she just stood up from her chair.
Which was the single for her comrades to act.
Bursting into the gambling den the members of the Athena familia with Leonmitchelli and the Ganesha familia members assisting them, quickly secured the place.
They arrested all the patrons and secured all the victims without any trouble.
Shutting down yet another business linked to the Styx familia.
A task they had been doing for the past week.
Ever since the Athena familia and their allies discovered the Styx familia was somehow involved in Morax assassination attempt they had been trying to track down their headquarters. But they had had no luck in that regard.
So Ryner made a suggestion.
Target all businesses and groups with links to the Styx familia until someone gave them up or they were forced to come out of the hiding to deal with the situation.
Seeing the merit in Ryner's idea an operation was organized and then started to do just that.
And the Athena familia is not going to stop until they get the people that hurt their captain in their grasp.

In a lavishly decorated room, a woman sat with her feet up.
The chair and foot stool she is using both being humans wearing slave collars.
This woman is the goddess Styx. Leader of the Styx familia.

And to say she is happy at the moment would be a complete and utter lie.
All due to the efforts of the Athena familia to interfere with her familia's business.
"Looks like I need to put some pieces of garbage in their place." Styx said.
Getting a nasty expression on her face as she did so.
But Styx had no idea she was acting all according to the Athena familia's plan.
