Just Some Basics

For Those not familiar with Falna it is a leveling system based around earning Excelia which can be earned by doing just about anything from sprinting to get agility to healing a accidental burn which would give endurance. Now no 2 people are the same and stat growth reflect this certain races and personalities will be predisposed to leveling certain stats easier. For example elf tend towards magic but have more trouble on physical stats, beast kin are the opposite tending towards physical side of things. If someone has a more timid side and doesn't take attacks head on their endurance would be lower then someone who doesn't dodge or back down.

Well you get the idea. Skills follow a similar pattern just with actual styles or effects not just raw stats. Oh yeah the stats themselves are Strength, Agility, Dexterity, Endurance, and Magic. On to the ranks

I:0-99

H:100-199

G:200-299

F:300-399

E:400-499

D:500-599

C:600-699

B:700-799

A:800-899

S:900-999

This is considered the normal limit the higher the stat is the more excelia it takes to improve it further. This is why most people don't try to max their stats before leveling up. Leveling up moves the previously visible stats to a background state and boosts every aspect of the body and mind before resetting the visible stats for the next level. The process of leveling provides an immediate jump in power while stat accumulating is a slower process. So most adventures would have 1 or 2 stats at B rank with the rest being at least D before leveling these adventures would be average.

The higher tier adventures are ones who maintained a higher stat level before each level up. This also increases the likelihood of being able to advance in level even further. This is because just training or increasing excelia will never level you. Leveling requires one to overload their excelia which is only possible by reaching and exceeding one's limits in a stressful and threatening situation.

This leads to the divide and drop off between levels to become steeper as the levels get higher. For example between level 1 and 2 only around half make the jump. Between 2 and 3 around 30% make the jump.

Development abilities are normally passive skills that can be trained or improve over time they follow the same ranking structure as the stat points. These abilities are normally gained during the level up process.

Spells require incantations to use ranging from single words to entire stories before it is cast. If a cast is interrupted midway is can lead to backlash and injure or even kill the caster and anyone around them. Normally to prevent this one must stay in one place but one can train to chant and move. As would be expected this increases the difficulty of casting correctly by a lot but is immensely useful in a fight so most mages will learn this skill called concurrent casting.

Skills can be passive or active sometimes both usually having a cost or trigger to use. They range in effect from small boosts for fighting certain monsters or in a type of terrain to massively powerful attacking abilities capable or destroying a city or other no chant.

A skill can do almost anything and most things that don't fall under development or magic fall under skills. It is kinda a catch all of abilities and tend to appear more often naturally then spells do and also aren't limited to a max of 3 slots. Within the world no known limit has been discovered for how many skills can be learned.

I think that about covers the basics of falna I will add more if I feel like I missed something important.
