5 05 Deeper floor exploration and... Lili?

D_Ep5

"GYARAAAA!"

"WRAAA!!"

Death doesn't seemed to be an option for the grey-skin goblin lying on the ground, wounded. A deep cut from its left shoulder all the way down to the stomach was fatal with blood oozing out of it. But even so, the goblin still growls at its enemy that stands in front of it wanting to devour him whole.

Puchi!

A short knife comes down from above and accurately pierced through the goblins head, cutting its last breath in this world. Its eyes lost focus and the claws it was branding before finally fell down.

"Aaah.. So troublesome, having to take monster cores like this again and again. Why can't they just simply evaporate after death? Isn't that how they supposed to be?"

Bell always find it troublesome wasting his time like this looting monster cores out from the carcasses of the monsters he defeated. This is definitely not similar to what he remembered from watching the anime series.

Unlike in the anime, the monsters' corpse here remains even after you killed them. The body won't disappear at all or turn into dust particles - not even after you removed its core out of it.

Really troublesome.

Instead of continuously fighting a monster to get more income, one has to loot in each intervals after the fight. Which is a very time consuming thing to do and also, dangerous as the dungeon might spawn another monsters while you are doing that.

Bell pulled out the core and put them inside his leather pouch. He's now good to go.

He has to move forward, go deeper.

Bell is currently at the third floor of the dungeon, still far from his target, the sixth floor for today. But he's not in a hurry.

Taking out the map from his pocket, Bell slowly made his way deeper inside the dungeon while also fighting and looting the monsters he encountered along the way.

Dungeon monsters are really interesting creatures for Bell. The way they bleed when he cuts them, their fierce nature, their savageness, their pure instincts to kill every adventurers they will encounter!

These series of events and observations had ignited something inside Bell. He started to be filled with thirst for knowledge, to learn more information not only about the monsters he slew but the entirety of the dungeon itself.

He suspects that this is probably one of the traits of the souls he fused with. It's being rubbed off onto him.

"You little piece of shit, hurry up! You are cutting my today's earnings. Do you even know how to be useful for god's sake huh?"

As Bell surveys around the fourth floor of the dungeon, he spotted a party of adventurers ahead of him. It was a five member party composed of four grown up men - each in different classes and a supporter wearing a hood. Bell can't figure out his/her gender but he did find this supporter's figure quite familiar.

'It shouldn't be.... her, right?' Bell continue watching from the side.

A man that has scar on his chin sent a kick towards the supporter's stomach sending the poor supporter to the ground in all fours.

"Tsk. Supporter my ass! You are nothing more than a leech. Hurry up and loot those monsters you useless piece of shit!"

Despite the pain, the supporter still tried to stand up and managed to do so with great efforts. On the way up, Bell got a look on the supporter's face under that pale hood and sighed.

It really is her.

Liliruca Arde, the tiny prum supporter that the canon Bell got during his early days as an adventure. The little girl who has a deep hatred for adventurers due to her past experiences for the last fifteen years of her life.

Shaking his head, Bell didn't stay idle anymore and continue making his way down towards the fifth floor of the dungeon. He didn't want to get involved with any of that, Lili's problem.

With his current skills and fighting abilities, Bell is confident he can thrash those four level one adventurers on his own but... what good would that bring him?

Nothing.

Would he just let things go similar with the canon and take this girl as his supporter?

Heck no.

Not the way the prum is right now. She's currently a ticking time bomb and Bell definitely won't take something like that with him even though he kinda need a supporter.

Though saving a beauty might be cool, this is real life - hes not stupid enough to risk his life so easily. And there's not even a beauty to begin with!

At the fifth floor.

Pew! Crack!

As Bell was walking his way on a two meter wide corridor, a blunt spear-like thing made out of flesh suddenly went past his neck. He barely had avoided it due to its speed.

"The fuck is that?!"

A Frog Shooter.

It was the frog's tounge that had attacked him just now. Bell followed the retreating fleshy tounge with his eyes and saw a huge toad like creature, hiding at the darker part of the corridor. There was a cross section there that was barely lit and this frog is taking advantage of it to hide. That was why Bell failed to noticed it just now and almost caused him to receive a hit.

Bell looked at the small cracked on the floor behind him where the tongue landed and can't help but shiver a little. If that tounge had hit him on his neck, even with his Goddess blessings, he might not have survived. After all, neck is a critical part of the body.

"You damn oversized toad!"

Bell dashed towards the frog shooter that continue hiding at the crossed section of the corridor like a stupid animal. It probably still thinking that Bell will be caught off guard by it again if it continue hiding there?

In its dreams!

Bam! Puchi!

Bell sent a kick on the frog shooter's eye before stabbing the back of it's neck. Loosing its sense of sight, the frog let out a shrieking sound and began blindly attack with its tongue hoping it will somehow hit Bell.

Bell sent a slash on the frog's chest but it didn't do much damage due to the frog's tough hide and the mucus that's protecting its skin.

Stab! Stab stab!

Three consecutive stabs on its head finally ended the frog shooter's life. With a 'poof' sound, its body dissipated into dust. It seems like Bell had accidentally damaged its monster core with one of his stabs, what a pity but things like this can't be helped as Bell didn't have any idea where the frog shooter's monster cores are placed. Not until now.

"So it's like that!"

Monster carcasses can do turn into dust without making any mess once their cores are destroyed? But why? What's the difference?

He was not left with nothing though as a long fleshy thing somewhat remained.

"Is this... a tounge? Lucky!"

Bell heard that a frog shooters tounges are considered as a very rare delicacy in Orario. It is a very popular food for some adventurers and some specific races. Not only it's said to be very delicious meat but also extremely difficult to get by as the percentage of it dropping after killing a frog shooter was miniscule. Bell is hoping to get a significant sum of valis for this later.

As for eating it himself, that thought didn't even enter Bell's mind at all as he find it very disgusting.

Bell picked up the two meters long fleshy thing on the floor and put it inside his back pack. Despite its huge size, the tounge miraculously fitted inside without a problem. It didn't even make the bag bulge a little.

It's because Bell's ugly looking small backpack is a magic item. It has a capacity similar to a sack. Bell was quite surprised to learned about this fact this morning as he was tinkling with his items.

Don't get it wrong because this backpack is in no way similar to space ring or storage ring. This bag is only made from a certain skill of an adventurer that has the ability to shrunk object's sizes while retaining its space capacity inside.

In short, Bell's bag was used to be bigger than what it was now before the skill was applied.

The tounge alone was around five kilos of meat in weight, quite heavy. With it on his back, Bell felt that his movements lowered a bit. He didn't like this.

Having no choice, Bell gave up the idea of going down to the sixth floor but instead decided to continue staying at fifth, grinding frog shooters and kobolds he encounters.

Night.

Bell has a bright grin on his face as he made his way back home. On his right hand was box made out of light materials he didn't know. Inside of it was a whole roasted duck he found at the market after selling the frog shooter's tounge there. He also bought some more dried delicious food but they are all his backpack.

Twenty four thousand valis.

That's the price he got for the tounge alone. It's quite amazing.

That plus his earning for selling his monster cores and other drop items all sum up a total of 70 000 valis.

Just in a day!

"I haven't even use my cheats yet but I'm already doing this well. Looking forward to the future." muttered the white haired boy with a grin on his face as he continue making his way back home.
