3 Ch 3 - Skills and Exploration
As I walked towards the light to get out of the cave I collected items from it. I observed the first thing that I picked up which looked to be a stone, I stared at the rock for a good minute.
Anyone that would have seen me would have thought me to be an idiot for staring so intently at a rock, but soon enough.
*Beep*

I found a chunk of flint about 6 inches long which can be used to make a knife and if I can find some more I can make arrowheads as well I thought, bringing a slight smile to my face as I put it in my backpack.

With the first level up nothing should really change, but seeing that the 3x exp gain is taking effect made me want to continue working.

Obsidian.

I found a small chunk of Obsidian about 1.5 inches by 1 inch. The thought that I can find more of these brought another thought to mind, that obsidian is one of the sharpest materials until it's used once.
Knowing that if I can collect some more, I can make some decent arrowheads even if they'll be one use only. So I made up my mind to continue my observations and collect as many pieces of obsidian as possible.

Seeing that I am one step closer to finishing the quest brought another slight smile to my face as I continue to collect and push forwards out of the cave.
As I reach the entrance of the cave I have found 12 total pieces of obsidian and [Observe] has leveled up to level 4.
As I exit the cave the light shines on a picturesque scene of a roof of green, trees everywhere to see and a forest floor of luscious green grass, scattered pine needles and leaves.
Wanting to admire nature longer but knowing that I need to forage for materials and supplies I start looking around.
First, I continue to use [Observe] to find the necessary materials while looking for a safe source of water. Finding a stable source of food comes second while I need to find things to craft some gear.
First, I started collecting sticks needed to make arrows, also I needed to find a stick long enough to make a bow and another to make a dagger using that chunk of flint.
Making sure to remember what direction the cave is in I head out to find those items and collect some long pine needles for fletching while staying somewhat quiet in case I spot danger.

Knowing that my stats are growing quickly I decided to not invest any stat points until each stat gets to 25.

Ok… Maybe too quickly, as I finally started exploring.
As I started exploring this beautiful forest I collected all of what I needed and then some, [Observe] reached level 10 giving me a basic description and stats of stuff in my level range. By this time it was noon but as I was about to head back not far away a red-covered tree caught my attention.
An apple tree I was silently happy as slowly moved its direction watching out for predators. As I made it there and was about to collect an apple I heard something. The noise of something other than the rustling and birds chirping, I turned my head to see about 100 meters away from me a group of goblins set up camp at a stream.
I went deathly still as to see what they were up to and not make them aware of my position, I used [Observe] from afar, unable to see their stats I knew, for now, they were out of my level range probably close to the upper limits to level 0 strength-wise.
But I was more interested in the source of water, but knowing that there will probably be more goblins farther upstream and that I don't want to get too far away from the cave I wouldn't go until I was ready.
Knowing this and that I have enough food to last about a week and enough water to last 4 days. I started planning what I was going to do to defeat them within 5 days. Collecting apples silently I filled about 75% of my camping backpack up.
Turning around to go back to the cave still on edge…

Jumping straight out of my skin because of fright, I stand there like a post in the ground. Quickly that fright turned to anger as I must remember that I need to turn off the notification sound when I get back to the cave.
I started heading back to start working with what I've gained today and before I go to sleep see my new status and skills.
