" Damn it. I REFUSE TO DIE like this! "

Bam bam bam.

In a fit of desperation, the level two chienthrope sent kicks at the back of his three remaining party members pushing them towards the monsters' claws and bloody fangs.

" What are y...!? "

"" WAAAHHHHHH!! ""

Blood splattered, limbs are severed, the monsters quickly started feasting on the still breathing adventurers. It's very a gruesome death. Shocked expression can clearly be seen on their faces as none of them expected this to happen, to be betrayed at the very last moment of their lives.

Though it's given that their situation was already dire and they will still die, being betrayed like that still took them by surprise.

" C-Curse yo-yo....! " said the last man before he took his last breath.

The level 2 guy fell on his butt due the impact but it worked. The monsters that was surrounding them before rushes towards the three fallen adventurers also wanted to take a bite and join the party. He used this opportunity to silently slip away as silent and as quickly as he can.

The level 2 chienthrope can barely feel his legs due to extreme exhaustion and fatigue but still desperately crawled his way forward using his bloody wounded arms. His destination, one of the few dungeon wells that is a few meters ahead of him. Once he got there, he can use that hole to free fall deeper down the dungeon hoping that there's a safer place there he can rest even just for a minute. Anything that has no monsters will do.

He still has one high potion inside his pocket, that will be enough to heal his wounds and recover more than half of his strength. As a level two adventurer, just half of his strength should be enough to secure his safety, enough to return back to the surface.

With an evil smirk pasted on his face, the level 2 adventurer was about to succeed but...

Crack.

It's unknown whether it's retribution or his luck is simply that crap today but...

When he's only around two meters away from the hole, cracks started to appear on the walls ahead. It started from small hair size but are quickly expanding in each second.

Damn it! Damn it!!

He desperately tried to increase his speed. Ignoring the wounds on his body, the chienthrope continue moving forward but.... he's still too slow.

"!!"

His face paled as he watches the cracks got bigger and bigger until monsters finally came out of it. There's three of them, all orcs.

"OOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!! "

Seeing the crawling human in front of them, the three orcs didn't waste any second and raced towards him. It's like a food that has fallen from the sky for them.

" YOU'RE FUCKING KIDDING ME!!! "

Bam!

Three huge fleshy hands landed on his body pushing and pulling mercilessly. All wanted the solely claim of the food for themselves.

A very gruesome scene followed after that along with a bloodcurdling scream.

" How ugly..... " Bell whispered under his breath. He was disappointed.

By now, he's only less than fifty meters away from the scene. He rushed here as fast as he can intending to 'help' these guys out of good will or more like to kill more monsters for excelia but he was taken aback when he saw the level 2 guy tossing his comrades towards their deaths. That completely stopped his footsteps as he knew he won't make it anymore.

If only that guy chose to continue fighting those monsters to the very end with his comrades, Bell probably, no, surely have made it on time. None of these poor guys should have died. What a pity.

But that guy is definitely a level 2 adventurer without a doubt. Even putting aside that prum that had escaped on her own, a party that is composed of three level 1 and a level 2 adventures having trouble dealing with a group of monsters in the twelfth floor -------that doesn't make any sense at all. And they even got wiped out completely!?

Even Bell himself who's still a level 1 was sure that he can handle those monsters alone if he got serious.

Did something happened before those guys came here? Or perhaps that Lilliluka Erde did something?

That's only some of the question inside Bell's mind that remained unanswered.

These guys probably have come from lower floors and got wounded there forcing them to retreat here. Unluckily for them though, they encountered another monster party here. Already wounded without being able to rest a bit or tend to their earlier wounds plus the two sudden betrayals, they all died.

Shing!

Unsheathing his two daggers, Bell dash towards the three orcs first. He took advantage of the thick fog that still covered the area to get near without being noticed.

His footsteps barely produces any sounds like as if they are not touching the floor.

There's no monster that has a strong sense of smell from the first twelfth floor so as long as one is careful enough not to be seen or heard by any monsters, there will be no problem sneaking or slipping away.

Whoosh.

The fog two heads above one of the orcs dispersed as a silver light cuts its way towards its head.

" GUUUUUWRRAAAAA!! "

One dagger accurately landed on its eyes while the other cut the orc's neck.

Orcs are monsters known for their tough hide so it didn't die immediately even after receiving that kind of attack from Bell. It is able to released one short but desperate howl loud enough to alert his friends ----- the other monsters nearby before it finally fell on the floor.

One after another, all the monsters nearby turned their attention to Bell before rushing towards him.

" Tsk. Bring it on small fries. "

" OOOUuuuuUuu!! "

Bell nimbly dodged the ax that came from above, the sharp dagger connected with its left leg as the boy spun backward.

The now fleshy giant lost its balance and was slain as Bell plunged his dagger straight into its body.

"!!"

But he didn't stop there.

Bell ignored the last orc and kicked off the ground in the direction of four imps, the first group of monsters that have arrived first.

These sneaky monsters are fast and their claws are sharp. They have a little intelligence too.

Imps might be small and many times weaker than orcs but definitely are not any less dangerous because these monsters love to pull sneak attacks if they have chance. Like now for example, if Bell had been a few seconds later disposing that orc or if his senses are not sharp enough, he probably got taken surprise by these little monsters. Too bad that's not the case.

Bell only sped up his assaults.

He charged forward planning to take on all these imps at once with his two daggers.

The imps were a moment too late to react.

"" —Giya?! ""

Bell's leading blade plunged into the imp's upper body like a skewer. Purple blood quickly followed up.

Its skinny body crumbled under the power of Bell's daggers, the flesh was torn to shreds in an instant. The creatures didn't even have time to writhe in pain or let out a dying shriek as it slowly fell on the hard floor.

The lights in its eyes cut out, and the imp fell silent.

Bell immediately turned to face the other imps.

At the same time, enraged by the death of their brother, the remaining imps turned to face the boy as they brought down their sharp claws on a collision course with Bell's face.

" Get lost! "

" A…AAHHHHHH!! "

Shing

The imps' knifelike claws slid harmlessly off Bell's silver daggers. A trail of sparks popped up in the claw's edges proving how hard they are.

Bell launched a series of counterattacks. With a quick sidesteps, he came behind the three imps before sending three backstabs.

""" -----Giiiiiiihhhh!!! """

" Shit! "

Bell cursed out after seeing the three small monster bodies turned into smoke. Seems like he had damaged their magic stones with that attack, what a waste.

But Bell didn't have time to complain further as more and more monsters have arrived and he's now surrounded from all sides.

...

Back to the abandoned church.

Miach stands in front of the church's broken door. He came here today because of what Nahza had told him yesterday. This man is tall and lithe. Wearing his aquamarine hair longer than most men, he carries himself like an aristocrat.

The fact that his gray robe is in rough shape doesn't hurt at all; in fact, it adds to his charm. He hesitated for a moment before finally knocking on the door.

" Miach? "

Hestia was a bit surprised after seeing who it was that came knocking to their doors. Miach is one of her very few friends here in Gekai so Hestia can recognize him immediately but didn't know why he came here.

" Good afternoon, Hestia. " his smile didn't leave his face. I have something to discuss with you, can I borrow a bit of your time? "

" Discuss with me? Sure, let's get inside first. "

It's rare for her to receive visitor but Hestia still quickly invited Miach inside the house. They both sat down across each other.

" Blue Papillon wings? "

" Yes. Nahza told me that she met a white-haired young man had come to our shop yesterday and bought some potions. "

Miach then began telling Hestia all the things his familia's sole child, Nahza had told him yesterday.

He also told Hestia how Nahza forgot to ask for the young man's name or address but she heard that his Goddess is a friend of Miach so he started thinking who it possibly was. Miach also said that only Hestia's child fits the description so he's here now.

" I see... so that was the case.. "

Hestia tried to recall her memories of yesterday but it's a little cloudy because she got very drunk last night for some reason. She can't even recall how she got onto the bed or what time did Bell arrived.

" Aahh. Now that you mentioned it, I think Bell did say something about that this morning. That a deity might come here asking to buy something like that but I didn't know it wold be you, Miach. "

" Really?! Then.. "

" Mn. Bell told he will leave it all to me. The items are probably there. "

Hestia pointed at the left side of the bed. There's a small hill of items there piled up with each other along with a few small sacks of magic stones.

" But I don't know what was that Blue Papelsomething you are talking about so, I'm hoping you can help me about that. " she embarrassly said.

Miach on the other hand was a little stunned, those amount of drop items Hestia pointed definitely cost a lot of fortune if sold but there they are messily piled up on the side like trash? Just what is Hestia thinking?

Shaking his head, Miach didn't say anything and simply followed his friend as the two of them began looking for the things he came here for.
