5 Everything as it Should Be

After Kaito and Maki embraced they stayed like that for a couple of minutes, so the rest of the spectators decided to leave the room to give the couple some space.

"I am really happy that they finally got together," Kaede said with a cheerful voice.

"Yeah, even after that class trial, Maki confessed to Kaito. I thought that this love was an impossible one, being separated by death" Shuichi added with a bit of nostalgia in his words.

"Thank you for jumping in and saving me, if you were a couple of minutes late maybe we would've held a class trial Hahahaha" Rantaro added jokingly but neither nor Kaede or Shuichi found humor in his words. Tsumugi as seeing the pair a bit annoyed by Rantaro's jokes gave him a little slap in the head.

"Ouch! What was that for?"

"You know why," Tsumugi said scolding Rantaro.

"Could you stop making so much noise, I am trying to take a nap back here…" Said Himiko while still being held by Tsumugi.

"Anyhow, please tell your classmates that we will be meeting at the front gate in thirty minutes, be on time okay?" Rantaro said to the pair while walking away with Tsumugi and Himiko.

"Those two are closer than what I thought they would ever be" Kaede's words were filled with surprise.

"Yeah, I would've never thought that someone would call Rantaro 'Ran-chan" Hahaha" Shuichi let out a slight laugh in unison with Kaede.

"So..., hey do you want to talk a little bit?" Nervousness could be heard in Kaede's words as she tried to evade eye contact with Shuichi.

"Sure, how about we sit down for a couple of minutes...?" As Shuichi noticed Kaede's voice he slightly blushed.

As soon as they sat down an uncomfortable silence filled the hallway. The kind of silences a couple might get on the first date while trying to figure out what to say next. Shuichi tried to start a conversation with her but, hesitated as soon as he was about to talk. Dead silence filled the air for a couple of minutes until one of them had the courage to express some words.

"So!" Kaede suddenly said as to break the silence between them. "I feel good about Momota-kun and Maki. I think now that they are together, they would make a cute couple…" Embarrassment filled Kaede's words.

"Yes, I feel good for both of them finally they are together after all of that suffering…" Shuichi blushed as he said this, but his mind was thinking about the situation between Kaede and him. As he thought about it more and more his face got brighter and brighter, so he tried talking more about his friends so his uneasiness will just fade away.

"Yeah, I was thinking that as well…" Kaede also with some awkwardness in her words, thought about what kind of relationship did Shuichi and her had, Kaede had complex feelings about him, but she could not gather the courage to confess her feelings for him. She needed time and so as he.

"Kaede…!" both called out each other's name in unison.

*DING DONG*

The sound of a speaker turning on could be heard through all the hallway. As Shuichi and Kaede heard this sound it sent chills down their spines.

"Hello everybody this is Rantaro Amami I need that everyone assembles in front of the main gate in five minutes, please I need everyone there in five minutes!"

As soon as Rantaro finished his announcement the speakers turned off.

Shuichi and Kaede were left there looking at each other, not knowing what to do. Wait for the other one to talk or be the one to talk first. This crossed Shuichi's mind, but he had already made his choice, he then took a deep breath, and ignored his warm bright red face.

"Kaede… I…. just wanted to say….that I....."

*SLAM*

The sound of the opening metallic door interrupted Shuichi once again, revealing Kaito carrying a frail Maki in his back.

"Oh, Shuichi! Kaede! Great timing, we just heard the announcement. Let's walk together to the main entrance, shall we?" Kaito proposed with a smile in his face. Shuichi and Kaede being left with no other choice agreed.

As the four of them walked to the main entrance, Shuichi thought that maybe it was not the right timing to express his feelings for Kaede.

"I will wait until the time is right until I know for sure that it is just Kaede and me, maybe things should stay this way, for now," Thought Shuichi. While Kaede was still wondering what his words were going to be.
