15 Trust and Love

"NARU, I think I understand now why mother chose to stay behind," Shina said to her brother when they sat under the moonlight in yu's cliff.

"I think I do, too," Naru replied after a few moments. Looks like he was thinking of something before finally arriving at his answer.

"Yu said that they cherish everything they have now because they never know when will they see each other again. Nor will they remember this in the next lifetime." Shina continued savoring the night sky. "Cherishing this day, this lifetime, every small thing. This is what mother wanted."

"She created everything but to Gods like us, this is nothing," Shina said as she rekindled her memories of destroying everything. "We would neglect this. Won't appreciate the life she made as we have infinite of that. Thinking that we could create this over and over again…"

"She became sad," Naru continued. "Her efforts were wasted. Thus making these mortals."

"Yes," Shina answered her brother. "She made them with finite moments, memories to carry in their hearts. These mortals were made to cherish everything that she made. Made to take care of all these and be guided by the Gods that mother gave birth to."

"And Izanagi—father, he understood mother more than anyone." With bitterness in his voice. Naru continued. "He knew that if mother would be released from that pit, with her corrupted soul, she would destroy everything that she loves. And father knew that it wasn't what mother's heart really want."

"And she threw us out of the pit not because she doesn't need us but because these mortals, her land, her creation needs us."

Naru didn't say anything to what Shina said. Regret and remorse were written in his face as Shina silently cried. Both were silently hoping that mother would forgive them.

"I'll be staying here."

"You don't need to say that so you could drag me again," Naru snarled at her sister. "I'm staying because I want to."

"It's Yu for me." Shina looked at her brother and smiled. "And I know it was Megumi for you."

Naru didn't smile nor confirmed what she said but Shina could see in his eyes that he was happy.

And they really are.

***********

"Good morning, Shina! How was your sleep?"

Shina looked in the direction where Yu was. Shina and Naru just got out of the house they were living in. Ang the moment they stepped outside, Yu was there, waiting under a tree that was in front of the house.

"Well, that answers the nightmare and dark entity," Naru said in response to Yu's greetings. "Good morning to you, too. You're early. The sun hasn't even risen yet."

"Ah, yeah, I was waiting for Shina," Yu enthusiastically replied Naru. With big smile and bright quirky manner. "I'm going to ask her if she wants to go with me."

"No, she's not."

"To where?"

Shina and Kuni replied in chorus. Shina pinched Naru's arms where she was leaning in. Her brother just gruffed. She just tried her best not to roll her eyes to his brother as she might get caught pretending to be blind. Thus, she just averted her eyes and looked back at where Yu was standing, not directly looking at him but enough to see him.

Like before, his hair was bundled up into a ponytail. But Shina knew that it was longer than it looks like. If he would let it fall, his black hair would reach just above his behind.

His almond-shaped eyes adorned by his black eyes that Shina was afraid of looking at. His stares were giving her shivers that would tingle her whole body and heart. But when he smiles with that bow-shaped pouty lips of his, his eyes would be gone into slits.

Just like now.

"I brought us some breakfast," Yu even showed them a basket that looked tasty from the fruits there. "Elder mama gave us sakuramochi for dessert!"

Shina almost laughed when she saw in her peripheral that Naru's face lifted up. It was his favorite dessert. It has been since he first tasted it and Shina doesn't know how he developed that 'favorite'.

{I can't blame him. That dessert surely is delicious. And you cannot laugh at your brother, Shina you have your own favorite, too.}

Shina just smiled to herself. Her most favorite thing wasn't any food nor drink. But a place where she could be with Yu. Yes, it was Yu.

"Looks like we won't be alone, Yu," she jokingly replied to Yu.

Yu grinned at her before looking at her brother. "Yes. We wont. Megumi would be coming, too."

Shina bit her inner cheek to stop herself from laughing when she heard that. She may be joking that Naru would be tagging along, but her joke bounced back from what Yu announced. She didn't need to look at her brother. Oh, she just knew that her brother now is so very willing to join them. She wanted to protest. Refuse Yu's invitation but Naru was ready to answer.

"Then let's go. We should keep moving, then." When Yu knowingly grinned at Naru, he cleared his throat and composed back to his usual cold self. "I…just want to not waste time. I'm just coming because you invited me and I cannot leave my sister alone." Naru cannot look Shina in the eye. He knew better not to. For she would silently laugh at her brother.

"Yeah, yeah," Yu ignored Naru's reaction and walked towards them. He stopped in front of her and gave her a soft smile. "would you mind if I held your hand and let me guide you?"

"I mind," Naru interrupted them.

It was sort of magical for Shina. She may be pretending to be blind and won't get the chance to look up at Yu, and just stupidly looked at Yu's chest, Now, her brother was ruining it.

"Naru," Warning. That was what Shina wanted to convey when she called him. "Why don't you look for Megumi, she might need some help."

"Oh, yeah, she would be bringing four containers for our tea. Bet it would be heavy." Yu added.

Naru looked at Yu, maybe contemplating if he was going to leave her or not. Shina knew that Naru would leave them. They wouldn't be twins if she cannot know what he was thinking. And with a gentle nod, Her brother let go of her hands. He slowly offered it to Yu.

"I was just letting you guide her as I would be helping Megumi. Do you understand?" Naru demanded and waited for Yu. When Yu nodded to him, he then let him held Shina's hand.

"Remember, I'm not doing this because I want to. It's because—"

"Megumi needs help. Now, go," Shina blindly reached for her brother and softly pushed him.

"I thought you don't want to waste the time? Go now or we won't be able to see the sunrise. By the time we got there, It'll be too late."

Naru stopped in his tracks and looked at Yu. "Watch the sunrise, you say? Is this some kind of a joke, Yu? You know that my sister is blind."

"I know, but it shouldn't stop her from seeing those beautiful things."

"See? Seeing?"

"I know, she cannot see. But she can imagine, right?"

Shina looked down as she smiled. She also cannot help but be proud of this man. This man who were giving her so many emotions. This man, who introduced her to these wonderful things called feelings.
