3 Where Am I?

Birds were chirping and the sounds of insects clicking could be heard as Feng slowly opened his eyes.

'Where the heck am I?' Feng wondered as he slowly got up. He looked around only to see himself surrounded by trees. 'What happened to me...' Feng tried to recollect his thoughts from before he woke up.

'Oh yeah...someone was suffocating me with a bag...' Feng shivered at the thought. He put his hands down to push himself off the ground and noticed something there. A small piece of paper folded up and a sword in a sheathe.

Confused, Feng picked up the paper and read it,

'Have fun and good luck on your adventure, take the sword and go. I think you'll like it' -Renee

Feng stared confused at the paper in front of him. He recalled hearing a girl's voice whispering to him before he blacked out.

"What the heck happened!" Feng screamed as he was trying to figure out how he got here. "Am I still in the forest preserve? It doesn't look like it, the trees here are way too tall... I'm going to have to report to the police when I get out..."

Feng picked up the sword left on the ground and started stumbling through the forest.

Feng noticed a few things out of the ordinary, like birds that looked like yellow hawks with yellow eyes on top of tree branches. Rabbits the size of adult cats running around kicking up dust and dirt, and even something that looked like a snail with water dripping down it's shell as it crawled up a tree trunk.

'That's cool...' Feng got lost in thought as he watched the snail climb.

Suddenly, a low roar sounded close by, and something pounced over and snatched the snail from the tree.

An animal that looked like a cheetah with a long horn on it's head crushed the snail, shell and all in it's mouth and started chewing.

Feng stumbled back and falling onto the ground as he looked at this animal.

The cheetah like creature suddenly stopped chewing and turned towards Feng and growled.

"Good kitty, I'm not food, just a regular person who's trying to get out..." Feng quietly said while backing away from the creature, he noticed few words on the top of the creatures head.

-Horned Cat-

Danger Level: * *

Feng stared dumbfounded at the words, 'wait is that what this thing is called?! That's not a cat!' he retorted to himself as the Horned Cat slowly turned its body around and crouched down, ready to pounce again.

Panicking, Feng realized he was still holding on to the sword that was by the note from Renee. Quickly drawing the sword, he was shaking as he got up and held the sword in front of him facing the Horned Cat.

The Horned Cat pounced right at Feng brandishing it's claws. Feng screamed and stabbed forward with the sword while turning away and heard a tearing sound, but was hit by the right claw of the Horned Cat and tumbled on the ground.

"MREOW!" The Horned Cat howled as it fell over on it's side trying to paw at the sword that was stuck in it's stomach. Without being able to reach the sword, the Horned Cat went limp and exhaled it's last breathe.

"Ugh...that hurt..." Feng slowly pushed off the ground with his arms and looked at the Horned Cat's last moments. "Serves you right, stupid cheetah cat thing..." He mutters. He looked over to his left arm to see blood dripping down from his upper arm to his elbow. He quickly tried to put pressure on it with his right hand while wiping away the blood to see 2 long cuts on it. He took off his hoodie and ripped part of his undershirt off and tied it around his arm to try and stop the bleeding. Putting back on his hoodie, he slowly walked over to the corpse, Feng was vigilant now about his surroundings, almost to the degree of being paranoid.

Seeing nothing around him, he pulled on the sword a few times before removing it from the body. Right after the sword was removed though, the Horned Cat started glowing, and in a flash disappeared.

"Okay what just happened?" Feng said while looking around to see if maybe it was still alive and walking around.

"-Horned Cat x1- Slain!" A voice sounded in Feng's head.

"What?!" Feng yelped as he frantically looked around again. He saw nothing but trees. "Maybe I'm hallucinating from all of the crazy things going on... Let's just get out of here..." he sighed.

As Feng stumbled around the forest, he held on tight to the sword with his right hand while looking left and right every time he passed a different tree. After about an hour of walking he saw a clearing and started moving quicker towards it.

'I'm almost out, I can finally go home!' Feng thought as he jogged forward. As he exited the forest he noticed that in front of him was what seemed like an unpaved road extending parallel to the forest and an open field across. 'If I take this one way or another I should end up in a town right...?' rationalizing in his head. Feng started following the road with a right turn and walked. After a few minutes, he noticed on the open field something big starting to move.

"You've got to be kidding me...is that a dinosaur...?" Feng trailed off "Where the heck am I?"
