9 Juliana's Dream

Despite the circumstances the wind was blowing up a storm causing for Juliana to stumble. The sand blinds her eyes causing her to fall. When she regains herself, then she discovers that she is in a different environment. It is so bright out that she can barely make out the outline of the man approaching her. She starts to question her mind and shivers. He calls her name and she retreats many steps back only to find herself now sitting on a large stone.

"Romero don't come any closer I am warning you."

"Firstly I don't understand why you are so repulsed by my presence and furthermore why? Is it because you hate the site of me so much now in days or is it a forbidden topic?"

"No it is because you no longer fit my requirements as a friend or even as a lover. Seems to me that after all these years that I loved you that you truly didn't feel the same but desired only sexual gratification. You were too afraid of commitment and also afraid of disappointment. I did all I could to make time for you in my school schedule, yet I was less than second priority because you always made an excuse not to text me as frequently. I felt that I was neglected even when you chose to spend a little time with me. I never felt like you truly loved me as much as you said because your actions and attitude always spoke louder than your words. Did you know that day that I wrote in my journal when I was in English 1B that semester that you broke my heart? That day that you said you didn't have a future with me that started me thinking. You never bothered to truly understand why I closed my heart to you. Because of your hurtful behavior and words I had no choice but to close my heart to you since then. Don't even think about finding a place in my heart because someone else has taken that slot."

A slap is heard and a red mark stains Romero's cheek as he stares transfixed as Juliana runs away. The dream fades but the memory of it remains as Juliana wakes up cold sweat covered with a pounding heart.
