Purple runes floated out of her mouth and twisted with strange contortions around Quilon. The sound of glass shattering abruptly broke the quiet in the small room, and Medicus fainted again.

Flexing his muscles after regaining his strength, a savage grin alighted Quilon's face.

...

"Members of Hidden snake confirmed, do we breach and clear? Or do we prioritise saving the young master?"

"Breach and clear, while keeping a lookout for the Young lord. Intel confirms the presence of dragon-kin, so keep your guard up Ghosts. Silence LRC (Long-range communication) and keep chatter local, Carlos out."

"Squad form up, I want ten bunkers to each entrance, fifteen melees, five rogues and mages assign yourself accordingly, but remember that long-range teleportation will be impossible during the operation so use puncture trinkets if you need to escape. Operators, logistics and healers set up an OA (operating area), which will allow you to work at maximum capacity if required, any spare scouts should search for additional exits and seal them up with champion foam while calling for reinforcements. Now disperse."

Like ants leaving a colony, the elite squad of soldiers numbering almost in the thousands set off in various directions to complete given assignments.

Their target was an unassuming abandoned warehouse, paint peeling off, wood rotten, various animal infestations present in the wood, and it stank worse than manure, ideal for any criminal organisation. From the blueprints, the warehouse only had four entrances. But the organisation involved had likely created more, so scouts were required to seal them, and reinforcements were needed for the smart-assess who decide to escape by breaking through the nearby walls.

Using red flares to confer readiness, the commander lit a green flare to covey the start of the operation.

Using hand signs for communication, each squad quickly and efficiently infiltrated the warehouse, quietly walking behind enemies and without a hint of emotion, the forward scouts snapped their necks, used talismans to store a print of the enemies face and then using another talisman, melted the body. The squad would then move on not leaving any evidence at all.

*Kadoom*

The Ghost squad had covertly eliminated all the patrolman and had even wiped out a few barracks worth of men. However, this explosion further down in the facility would destroy their effort of trying to do their operation covertly.

Still not switching to LRC as it might compromise their position, the squads became more open with louder attacks, although the scouts were still fundamental in dealing with small forces quietly.

Following the source of the noise, one squad who managed to infiltrate to the depths of the subterranean facility witnessed the explosions in person, but while drawing closer, were met with a sudden silence. The explosions had stopped, and while their eyes adjusted to the darkness they had been subjected to, it would appear the perpetrators had escaped.

Walking briskly, each Ghost member swept their eyes up and down the corridor wary of everything even the dust that swirled around their body. Swiftly making their way down the corridor, they came across a four-way junction and taking the path most disturbed they came across a bloody room which was empty. Backtracking, they discovered a blood trail, and concerned about the Young lord, broke out in a run.

*Bang* *Rawr*

The Ghosts could smell blood and coupled with that roar of anger, knew trouble was brewing, however by the time they reached the light at the end of the tunnel, it might have been too late.
