Chapter 52 - What?

Why did I reminisce...

I looked at my hands and wiped away at my face again.

Huh?

Looking down, I could see the mark that the succubus gave me, it was glowing.

Is this why?

I wasn't worried about being tracked while I was on the school grounds. I doubted that even the demon king would be able to stealthily visit without being noticed. But if this mark had another feature, I think it's something worth looking into...

I rubbed my eyes again; they were starting to hurt after I rubbed them for so long.

I shook my head and sighed before getting up.

Haah, it's not even the usual time I get up...

I stretched my arms wide before heading to the bathroom., I looked in the mirror and noticed the redness around my eyes.

Haah, damn my eyes hurt.

After showering, I got dressed, grabbed a book and headed to the living room, unsurprisingly it was empty. Considering it was early morning everyone was probably still asleep.

At this point the mark had stopped glowing.

I looked down at the mark before thinking to myself.

I hope one of the teachers knows something more about this thing... Other than the fact that it's a tracker, I had no idea if it did or not. All I remember writing about the mark was the fact it acted as a tracker.

I sat down on the couch and started to read.

I could've stayed in my room, but I wanted to relax in the living room.

A few hours later I was over half-way done with the book.

Haah, I stretched my arms wide and yawned.

The mark hadn't glowed anymore since I woke up, I made sure to keep an eye on it while reading.

I wonder if Mr. Mispholfo is awake yet, I want to ask him about the mark. I could probably ask any teacher, but I trust Mr. Mispholfo the most.

Agh, I also have to go speak with the king later about the succubus and stuff... Haah, there's too many things I need to do...

A few moments later, Kazu walked into the living room.

"Oh! Good morning, Leo!"

"Morning." I responded, it looked like Kazu was just waking up he still had his bed-hair and was in pajamas.

"You're reading a book?" he asked as he sat across from me.

"Yeah, I couldn't fall back asleep, so I decided to read."

"Ah, that sucks, when you came back yesterday, you were pretty tired so it's understandable though." Kazu said, pausing for a moment before continuing to speak, "So, what's the book about? Is it good?"

"Um, I like it so far, the pace is really starting to pick up too. It's like a progression story, a classic weak-to-strong type one." I responded before asking him a question, "Do you want to borrow it after I'm finished? You'll probably like it; this guys a lot like you."

"Eh? He's just like me? Now you have me curious, haha, yeah if you'd lend me it, I'd be thankful."

"Sure, sure."

"I'm going to make some coffee; do you want some?" Kazu said while getting up.

Coffee? I don't really like the taste of it, it's a bit too strong for me.

"No, thanks for the offer though."

"How about some breakfast? I'll be cooking a lot since some of the others asked for it too."

"Sure." I paused for a moment before asking, "How much are you cooking and what are you cooking?"

"Hm... Well, one second let me count..." Kazu looked at his hands and started to lift his fingers up as he started to list off names, "Scarlett, Rylee, Rose, Ally, Chloe, Gene, you and me... So... for 8 people I think. Haha."

...That's a 5/3 ratio of females to males... Are you going for a harem or something? That's way too unreasonable...

I just looked at him blankly for a moment before starting to speak,

"Ah, could you make some for Rio as well then?"

"Sure! Chef Kazu is in the kitchen." He smiled as he headed to our dorm kitchen.

He did say he was taking a cooking class... Was it to pick up girls? I forgot the reason he gave but probably...

I could've just gone to the cafeteria for breakfast if I wanted to, but since he was offering, I wasn't going to say no.

I stood up, stretched my arms wide and yawned,

Haah, well, Mr. Mispholfo's probably up by now, right? I'll go ask him about this mark. The king will probably have someone pick me up later. Haah, I really don't wanna have to leave campus with this thing.

I scratched at the mark before I started to head out the door.

"Ah, Kazu, I'll be back."

"See you in a few! I'll be cooking!" Kazu waved me off as the door closed behind me.

I headed to the teachers' lounge and entered the building.

To my surprise, there were a lot of teachers awake at this time. Some of them in their offices while others were just talking and hanging out.

"Oh? A student?"

One of the teachers came up to me, she had blonde, curly hair.

Who's this? One of the upper-year teachers probably...

"Do you need help with anything?" She asked.

"Ah, I needed to talk to Mr. Mispholfo about something."

She clasped her hands together before speaking, "Ah! You're in Grant's class? Currently he's a little busy but if it's something I could help you with, please feel free to ask!"

"Is he going to be busy for a while?" I asked

"Hm... Who knows when it comes to him, I swear that junior of mine is unpredictable when it comes to doing stuff."

"Oh. Okay, then do you know about succubus's or someone who does?"

She looked a little shocked for a moment before starting to speak in a certain tone, "Oh my... I didn't know my junior and his students were into THAT..." She paused for a moment before continuing to speak, "I'm sorry to say, but illicit actions are not provided on school grounds... You'll have to keep that stuff private in your own room. Unfortunately, I can't help you with that, but why don't you just bring a girl to your room instead of thinking about a succubus? Are you at that age where you're just interested in that type of stuff now? Eh, I'll forward your message to Grant though!"
