Chapter 42 - Flirt?

We headed back to the dormitory and were in front of someone's door.

Reading the plaque on the door it said Danielle Camden? Who's this... I've never spoken to them or even seen them I don't think...

Well, I mean I've probably seen them but just haven't actually noticed them...

Kazu knocked on the door.

"Danielle, are you there?"

I stretched my arms and yawned.

A few dozen seconds go by with no answer.

Kazu knocked again.

"Danielle? It's me, Kazu, your friend!"

Haah, I inhaled a deep breath.

Aren't you friends with everyone or something? And what if she's not even in her room, then you're just knocking on an empty door...

But contrary to my thoughts, I stood around and let him do what he wanted without complaint.

After those words I followed Kazu to the next door, I had no idea whether or not Danielle was actually in that room, but it didn't matter to me.

The next door read Rylee Abel.

Who even is this? Should I pay more attention to my classmates or something?

Kazu knocked on the door.

"Rylee, are you there?"

We could hear a muffled noise coming from the door.

"What do you want?"

Wow? Sassy much? Are you sure you're really friends with her, Kazu?

"Hey Rylee! It's me, Kazu! I was just wondering if you're doing okay, and if you wanted to get some ice cream with me and Leo!"

What? Please... Stop throwing my name around... I never agreed to this... But ice cream does sound pretty good, I'll have to invite Rio. Taku and Ayaka too... Maybe a few others...

"Huh? Ice cream with you and Leo? Why would I want to do that?"

There were two questions there, but you only answered one...

"Because we're friends! And I wanted to eat some ice cream with you! I'll pay!"

Woah, you'll pay? Are you that rich? And... Kazu... It doesn't sound like you're friends with Rylee from her responses... I don't know how to tell you this... So, I won't.

"No. Now go away."

Kazu began to walk to the next door.

The next door we went to read Scarlett Lockwood.

"Scarlett, are you there?"

A muffled voice could faintly be heard through the door.

Why am I even here? I've done nothing except be dragged around and have my name tossed around... Did I come to watch you flirt with multiple girls? What time is it...

"Kazu... I gotta go, sorry." I whispered to him

"Huh? Oh, alright, thank you for coming with me! You helped a lot!"

Uh? Stop lying? I didn't? Huh? Whatever, he's just being nice.

"See you later."

"Alright, bye!"

He waved me off as I headed to Rio's door.

He usually wakes up around this time.

I knocked on his door.

A muffled energetic voice could be heard.

"One second!"

A few dozen seconds later, the door opened.

"Ah, Leo! Good morning!"

"Morning."

"Sorry, I was just getting dressed!"

"No worries."

"Are we going running today?"

I shook my head

"Nah, let's just hangout today."

I remembered back to what Kazu said earlier, something about the Ogre- Eh, I can't remember his exact words, but I remembered the meaning.

Rio looked like he was about to jump for joy.

"Yeah."

We decided to walk around the campus for a little bit, if we saw Taku, Ayaka, Ian, or Kathryn we planned on inviting them.

"Do you want to play a little game while we walk around?" I asked.

"Sure! What're we playing?"

"It's called 21 questions."

"21 questions?"

"Yeah, we go back and forth asking and answering questions 21 times."

"Oo! Sounds interesting! You go first!"

"Sure."

"What's your favorite color?" I asked.

"I really love Green! What's yours?"

"Hm? What a coincidence, green's my favorite as well."

"Really?!"

"Yeah. It's such a pretty color."

"I think so too!

"Then... It's my turn now..." Rio looked like he was thinking to himself.

Even though he already asked a question, I didn't mind.

"What's your favorite animal?"

"Snakes."

"Snakes? Really? That's an unexpected answer." Rio looked a little surprised.

"Is it?"

"Yeah! But I can see it! Snakes are cool!"

"They are very cool." I said with no hesitation and a firm look in my eye.

"Yup! Then... It's your turn to ask!"

"Mhm."

We went back and forth for a few questions before we saw Taku and Ayaka in the distance.

"Oh! Looks like we found them!" Rio shouted, which caused them to look at us. Then started waving at them.

"Yeah, I'll ask one more question then."

"Sure! Go ahead! I'm all yours!"

"Are you still scared from the Ogre?"

Rio stopped moving for a second before continuing to walk next to me.

"Well... To be honest... I was..."

"But..."

I looked at him

"Not anymore..."

He looked back at me.

"Having you here, and your words scared away the scariness!" Rio smiled.

I put my hand on his head and ruffled his hair for a second.

Eh, Kazu made me worried for nothing.

"That's good."
