Grandpa Called Her

Mel decided to create an entertainment company. Even though she knows nothing about the entertainment business, she believes Aunty Bella's capabilities and know-how of entertainment business and people would adequate. Plus, Hiro is also 100% behind the plan.

By now, MT Group has several subsidiaries that handle several different sectors.

MTech and Msoft Games are the two companies she started based on her hobby of building technology-based products. Before she founded her own company, she developed games and then sold them to other companies abroad to be theirs. Most of all, the games she had created were popular.

On the Msoft Games company, she entrusted her best friend Harry to be the company's Director. Harry has the ability and interest in this field.

On MTech, she appointed Sammy as the Director. He is a gifted engineer and programmer, almost at her level.

Then, there is an investment company, namely MT Investment. One of the companies she founded because Hiro is very talented in this field. MT Investment's assets are substantial. If compared to the Tanner Group, Tanner is nothing. MT Investment has significant capital, and most of its investment focused on the big countries out there.

The ones that will be launching very soon are Digital Soft Bank. This company in the banking sector, specifically in digital banks. Currently, preparations for launching are 99% complete. Mel can't wait to launch the company because this business is on-trend in the world, and only a few countries have digital banks. Digital Soft Bank will be a pioneer of digital banking in this country.

MT Group also will set up a new company, an entertainment subsidiary. Mel won't interfere in the setup. She will leave it to Hiro and Aunty Bella. She is confident in their abilities.

In the afternoon,

Mel and Hiro decide to wait at a café inside the station because the train departure schedule is still a few hours away.

"Ice Americano?" Hiro asked her as soon as they entered the café.

"Are you going to kill me with caffeine?" She glared jokingly at him. "Hot chocolate." She said, then left.

Hiro is more convinced that her beloved boss is on her period. So scary! He immediately went to the counter to order.

There were not many people in the cafe; only a few customers occupy the tables. Mel chose a table in the corner of the room, right next to the large glass window.

For a moment, she was amazed at the beautiful scenery that lay before her eyes, the vast mountains dominated by snow, very beautiful.

There was a strange feeling that she felt from deep in her heart. Since she was in this city, she did not hate snow at all?

What's wrong?

Is this the effect of consulting a psychologist?

Or, because she had expressed her deep sadness with Aunt Bella? Something she hadn't done in the last ten years relaxed her. Is it because of that?

Mel exhale deeply; she couldn't find the answer to her question.

She decided to distract her mind. She takes out her laptop; she becomes so immersed in her work and ignoring Hiro in no time.

"Still busy finishing the game?" Hiro asked while placing a cup of hot chocolate and a slice of cake for Mel.

"hmm... The last few days, Harry has terrorized me!" She answered without taking her eyes off her laptop screen.

"Then, when will you launch the new game?" Hiro tried his best not to provoke Mel's anger.

It wasn't only Mel who Harry terrorized, but him too. Harry asked him to immediately push Mel to finish reviewing the game because their release schedule is getting closer.

As the CEO of the MT Group, he would gladly help Harry; however, the problem is that Mel is in a bad mood.

"Just waiting for my approval. I'm still testing the game; I'll finish it in a day or two."

Hiro just nodded and, silently texting Harry, informed him of the vital information he had just heard.

"Hiro!"

He flinched.

He quickly threw away his cellphone and looked at his boss. Does she know I'm spying on Harry? Damn it!

Mel added, "Don't forget to immediately take care of the house and car for Aunt Bella. Buy it, don't rent. And use Aunty Bella's name as the owner." Hiro relieved.

A few moments later, Mel's fingers stopped typing when her phone vibrated. She activated the IA Sticker behind her ear.

Suddenly, Mel heard Max notifying her, "Boss, there's an incoming call."

"Who?"

"Old Tanner!"

Mel frozen.

"Shall I accept or reject?"

Getting up from the chair, Mel walked out of the café. "Accept!" she said.

"Hello, My lovely Melanie? It's me, Grandpa...." Mel heard his hoarse voice.

After ten years, she could finally hear her grandfather's voice that she missed so much. Until today, she never has the guts to call or meet him.

Unwittingly, she clenched her hand, and she just stood still there. She didn't know what to say.

"Hello... Melanie, are you there?"

After a while, she was finally able to answer him, "Y-yes, I'm here."

"My Lovely Mel..." suddenly his voice turned cheerful. "Grandpa wants to see you. Can we meet today?"

"S-sorry Grandpa can't..."

"Why? Are you still mad with me?" his voice trembled. Mel could hear her Grandpa was sad.

"No. I'm not mad..." Mel paused to control her trembling heart, "I'm, I'm still out-of-town." She continued. The truth is, she isn't ready to meet him so soon. "Grandpa, can we meet next week?" Mel could hear Grandpa chuckling on the other end.

Mel smiles silently.

"Alright, Grandpa will see you next week. We will meet outside the Tanner Mansion, is that okay with you?"

"Mmm... Yes, Grandpa. That sounds better." She said softly.

"I will send a car to pick you up."

"No need, Grandpa, just tell me the address, and I will go there by myself."

"Marvelous! My lovely Mel, I'll see you later."

After ending the phone call, Mel stood at the same place for a long time, her mind blurred.

Back to J City.

The long journey from city K to city J goes smoothly fast without any stops. Precisely at 9 pm, Hiro's car has parked near the main gate of Mel's apartment.

Hiro glance at Mel, who is still sleeping peacefully, beside him. He waits for a while before waking her up.

"Boss, we've arrived." He said in a low voice, sounding like he was whispering.

"Huh! Already?" Mel opened her eyes slowly. She yawned and stretched her arms up.

"Why is it so fast?" Mel's asking Hiro.

"No, it wasn't fast. Even there pretty much traffic on our way here. It's you who slept like a baby for almost an hour." Hiro replied with a smile.

Tonight, the streets are so crowded. The journey that should have taken only half an hour, they took almost an hour. Hiro had to suffer driving in silence because his boss fell asleep as soon as she got in the car.

"Okay, see you tomorrow," Mel hastily said because she's still sleepy.

Seeing Mel open the car door, Hiro suddenly remembered something "Boss...."

Mel paused for a moment; she looked at Hiro.

"Did you forget that you still owe me something?"

"What?!" Her browse furrows, and she looks a bit upset.

Hiro chuckles; he knew it! The boss must have forgotten.

"Didn't you promise to tell me the boy's identity?" since last night, he waited for Mel to tell him, but there was no sign that she would say to him.

"Ah... you're right. Sorry, I forgot." She pauses, thinking about something. Moments later, she said, "Hiro, I can't tell you."

Hiro glares in surprise. "Is there any reason why can't you tell me, Boss?" He hopes His Boss is kidding,

"Top Secret!" she winks and then left Hiro.

"Boss! You are so KIND! I have been curious about it the whole day, and now you've decided not to tell me? Okay. That is GREAT!" He shouted sarcastically with his arm swinging up. But Mel didn't hear nor see him because she has entered the lobby by then, without looking back at him.

With annoyance still lingering in Hiro's chest, he hit the gas hard and left the Empire Apartment.

In no time, he arrived at his apartment. However, just as he opened the door, he receives a text message.

[MT] The boy's name is Bobby Adams. He's the son of the current President, Daniel Adams.

His mouth gaped. He was stunned.
