2 Chapter 2 | The Ride

After about 5 minutes of driving did I get the courage to actually look around. There, sitting next to me, was a girl about my age who looked just as beautiful as the man, watching me. I couldn't help but blush. She leaned over towards a box and pulled out some bandages. She started to move her hands close to my face, and I was too scared to move. No matter how hot these people were, they still were strangers. I was worried for nothing, I had forgotten about the blood on my forehead but now she was wrapping the bandages around my head. When she was finished, she smiled at me. I couldn't help but blush again, but the man in front just stared at us. "Do you have to flirt with every guy you see, Robyn?" He asked, as the girl gave him a pouty face. "Max, I was just taking care of his forehead!" She said. Her face was red, but I couldn't tell whether that was from embarrassment or anger. "And besides, I don't date guys anyway!" She said. I instantly deflated. The only girl who hasn't insulted me so far in my life was lesbian. Just my luck. The guy, Max, saw me and smirked. "She's not lesbain idiot, she just doesn't like guys, she says 'OH BOYS ARE SMELLY AND GROSS!'" He said, the last part with a girly, high pitched voice. Robyn rolled her eyes and then looked at me. "Don't listen to him, I have never said that, but he is true, I just don't like guys much." She said as Max parked the car and looked at her. "Because of our da.." He didn't finish the sentence before he saw Robyn's face and fell silent. A few seconds passed before she looked at me. "What's your name anyways?" She asked me, as I realized I hadn't told them my name. "Oh! I'm uh... Sam." I said as Robyn smiled at me. I was glad that she seemed happier compared to a few moments ago. "Uh, also I have a question..." I said, looking out the window nervously. "Why were those people... stinky?" I asked, not knowing any other way to describe them. I couldn't help feeling inferior when they both looked at me as if I was dumb. "Have you lived under a rock the past day dude?" Max asked, squinting his eyes. "In fact, what day was it that you last remember before your accident?" It took me a while to respond, remembering my sister and all. "Uh.... I think it was October 18th?" I answered. Robyn looked at her phone. "It's the 21st now. Anyways a lot of people didn't survive the first day, but you're lucky you had that car crash." She said. I looked at her weirdly. I knew she didn't mean it, but I wasn't lucky. My sister had died, and most likely my parents had too. I looked to the floor for a moment and then back to her. "Well you still haven't answered my question." I told them. "Oh my God, they're zombies idiot!" Max said, looking annoyed. "Ugh, haven't you seen a zombie movie before? How old are you, 12?" He asked me. "I'm 15!" I said defensively. Max just laughed. "You're so small and frail for a teenager." He kept laughing and I decided to change the subject. "So zombies?" I asked Robyn while Max continued laughing. "Zombies." She said.
