Arc 1: The Meeting - Chapter 39

It's a new day, and I'm already dreading what's about to happen today. I don't know who or what told the girls upon finding out what my newest cheat is and what it does.

Thou Shalt Not Die is the ability of Akiko Yosano from the series Bungo Stray Dog.

Thou Shalt Not Die allows Yosano to heal all kinds of external physical injuries or any sort for herself and others with the one condition that they must have near-fatal injuries. Therefore, in order for her ability to be used, the target must be injured enough to be half-dead.

It can also be used during direct combat, in which Yosano heals herself or others as they experience injuries. In some cases, Thou Shalt Not Die can be used for interrogation or torture purposes, in which Yosano heavily injures her opponent, heals them, and repeats the process until she is satisfied and gets the information she needs from them.

As always, Boss' modifications, where the limitations are removed. As in, if a target is too dismembered or blown to bits, the cheat still heals them by making the largest bits regenerate back to their original form at their peak condition, also being able to heal internal injuries and illnesses. Nor would I become exhausted from overusing this cheat. Also, it can be used to treat the mind, the soul, and all non-physical things.

As much as I want to say the Boss just wants to keep some limitations, I know it's because it matches the theme. I still need to make the target in mind for healing, to be half-dead or more, and the process will be painful.

I blame my Perfect Timing for making me get this cheat. But at least I have a cheat meant for healing, so there is no need to create a Nen ability for healing.

Fuck, I'm no masochist, so I may need to create a Nen ability to nullify the pain because I am not having that. I got multiple problems already before and after being a caretaker.

Well, that would be the case if I didn't get my two new godlike items today that solve that problem.

Supreme Relaxing Chair induces feelings of comfort, contentment, and relaxation for those sitting on it.

Then the other godlike item is Opened Can of WellCheers from Lobotomy Corporation. It is an Abnormality composed of a flashy grey soda vending machine and two humanoid guards that resemble shrimp, wearing gray overalls and yellows boots. The vending machine dispenses a free soda branded 'WellCheers' upon emptying the drink dock, effectively making a drink always available.

Each soda has its effects, but the Boss has made it, so any soda produced by this vending machine will have any effects I desire. For example, I can make it give me an orange soda to make me not be able to feel pain for an hour if I wanted to.

So together with the Supreme Relaxing Chair and any WellCheers soda. I am super relaxed right now.

By the way, crazy voices. Thanks for messaging the Boss to get me these two godlike items. I really need it for the long term. Also, the girls love the WellCheers soda but are limited to three per day, like with the Senzu Beans. No doubt they would go even crazier than they already are.

Also, did you guys know that when you're very deeply relaxed, you tend to ignore everything else around you? The Boss knew this would be a problem for me once I picked these two godlike items. So there is a failsafe where even if I'm incredibly relaxed, I would still have the motivation to get up and take care of the girls along with anything else.

Therefore, I can relax on the Supreme Relaxing Chair and drink a WellCheers soda one moment before rushing off to deal with whatever problem related to the girls.

Like right now, I was relaxing a minute ago and watching the girls doing their things in the tiny house because why not. It is not like the natives could leave this planet for another reality. They will never escape the girls' reaches as long they are here.

Now, I'm chasing after the girls as something triggered them to go on a warpath against the natives. It's only due to Boundary Manipulation that made it possible for me to catch up to them in time.

By the time I made it, the girls were about to kill Louise and Saito?! Louise managed to summon Saito after all?!

Holy shit, the girls are releasing lots of killing intent!

"Fourth mini-task: Prevent the deaths of Louise de la Valliere and Saito Hiraga for thirty minutes. Reward: 1-day vacation in any world of your picking." Ghost said to me, making itself visible in my sight. "The Boss has informed me that the designed protected targets should not be killed anytime soon, especially not when the girls are here. Again, this is optional for you to do, so you don't need to be too serious, Caretaker."

Oh, what the fuck, Boss?! You're asking for a miracle here! I can barely hold them back IF they are willing to be held back by me! Forget thirty minutes; I don't think I will be able to stop them for a minute! Also, not taking this seriously? Are you messing with me?! You say that, but I know it will be severe later on if I don't protect those two!

"Releasing the zeroth type restriction, deploying the dimensional interferencing imaginary magic circle, connecting to the inherent boundary, Tsukuyomi Unit, activation." I activated the Tsukuyomi Unit through the activation command, then had it cover Lousie, Saito, and me in a dome form.

I take out the One Holy Spear from my mindscape. Same with Fragarach, which already has a blade generated from the metal ball floating behind me. Afterward, Survival Kit was next, giving me a spray can that could put people to sleep upon spraying it at their faces. I did that to Lousie and Saito immediately because I didn't need any distractions from them.

I also take out the Knife of Disgraced One because I'm going to need it to cause any harm to the girls. Sure, the One Holy Spear should do the trick too, but it causes too much damage to the surroundings.

"Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine." I deploy the Domain Expansion, so my hits will always land.

"Jin...!" Nyarla snarled, causing a shiver down my spine. "If you know what's good for you, you will hand those two over to us. Right. Now."

Oh boy, this isn't good at all! Crazy voices; I have never seen her so furious! And this is the alter ego too! Not the eldritch ego! Which terrifies me more than it should.

"We're not going to kill them if that's what you're concerned about, Jin." Yor said to me softly.

I would have believed you if it wasn't for the mini-task mentioning deaths and how your facial expression is icy cold. If anything, you and the other two would do more than just kill them.

Back me up on this, crazy voices.

"Come on, Jin. We'll tell you why we want those two. Just give them to us first." Takamine's smile stretches on a creepy level of being an enormous smile that screams terror by looking at it.

Fuck, with a smile like that. I don't think I feel comfortable letting her give me a blowjob from this point on unless I get over it. Chances are, I might get over it.

"Sorry, no can do. Got a mini-task to protect these two behind me." I replied, hoping this would make the girls back off.

"Even more reason to kill them." Nyarla frowned, hatred filling her eyes. "Jin, trust me, and just let us deal with those two."

"Remember, Jin. Mini-tasks are optional. You don't need to do them." Yor try to reason with me. However, she had already started attacking the dome created by Tsukuyomi Unit.

"Jin, drop the barrier and let us have those two." Takamine gripped the outer layer of the dome in a way that she wanted to crush it to pieces.

"How about you girls tell me why the sudden needs to kill them?" I tighten my hold over my weapons, dreading having to really fight the girls while praying to anyone that's listening that the Tsukuyomi Unit will hold until the mini-task is completed.

Crazy voices, call the Boss! I need backup or something to deal with the girls! I mean, if I could, I won't have to worry about killing the girls—if that is even possible—by relying on my newest cheat: Thou Shalt Not Die would make it impossible for the girls to die at all.

But, what would happen if they decided enough was enough, then outright kill me?! Sure, I have many options to defend myself, but what happened after completing the mini-task, the girls still would be mad at me and would punish me afterward?!

Fuck! Now, Nyarla is kicking the barrier!

Also, what the fuck, Perfect Timing?! What do you mean right now is that all I could do is stall until the mini-task is completed?! How about the aftermath?! For fuck sake, I might give up on this mini-task if the way the girls act continues afterward! The reward is great, but I have to be alive to enjoy it! Or even if I did, I'd be back here with the girls, and they would still be mad at me!

Damn it, all I can do now is hope Tsukuyomi Unit holds up against these girls and pray their eldritch egos won't wake up from all this.

"Jin! Let us in!" Nyarla shouts at me, releasing a raw terrifying aura that causes my mind to shake.

Quickly, the Delayed Effect blocks it, and I channel the Boundary Manipulation onto the Tsukuyomi Unit to make it, so the girls are unable to damage it.

Has it not been thirty minutes yet?!

"Ghost, how much time has passed by now?!" I pray Ghost gives me good news.

"It has only been twenty minutes, Caretaker. Ten minutes left before the mini-task is completed." Ghost reported.

Oh fuck, I should have kept my mouth shut. Because the girls heard Ghost too; and now, they are putting extra effort into breaking the Tsukuyomi Unit. Nyarla is now throwing strong punches at the barrier, with Yor rapidly moving everywhere around the dome to find a weak point. Takamine begins to laugh evilly and simply increases her grip strength.

This is not good; crazy voices! Not good at all! Someone send help! Or better yet, tell the Boss to please inform me about the reason behind these mini-tasks! My fragile mind can't handle this. WellCheers soda and Supreme Relaxing Chair might not be enough!

"Oh, Jin! You'll regret this! HAHAHAHA!" Takamine laughs in pure madness. "We will punish you for denying us what we want! You heard me, Jin?! HAHAHA! YOU'LL REGRET THIS! HA!"

Fucking hell! This is Takamine's alter ego and not her eldritch ego! What kind of bullshit is this?! Shouldn't she be more normal-ish?! This is anything but ordinary!

I feel like crying, but I'm too scared the moment I do. The girls would finally break through the barrier and kill Lousie, and Saito, then torture me before killing me in the worse possible way.

Crazy voices! Send help! Beg the Boss! ANYTHING!
