26 Hunted that became Hunters are hunted again

Jason had set up traps all over the apartment. He knew that they wouldn't be enough to stop Cain but he wanted to at least slow him down or break up their forces.

David Cain ranked in the top 5 Assassins in the League of Assassins, maybe even in the top 3. He was able to beat Lady Shiva before she joined the League and was said to rival Deathstroke before he had his Super-Soldier Serum injected. But after both events, he had never beaten either one of them again. But that was not an insult to his skills since these two are the best assassins in the League.

And Jason knew it.

This was why Ballistic had just gotten a Techtronika SPT32 Grad Sniper Rifle for 21000 eddies and Ravager got herself some body armor. Jason wanted to upgrade Velocity as well but the only upgrades he could give her that would help with the upcoming fight would make her unable to fight in time so he could only give her a set of knives like his.

While Jason was still setting up the apartment, he got a phone call from an unknown number. But the number of people who had his phone number was only 3.

"Hello. Red Hood Lead Delivery. You call us, we deliver the lead right to your brain and heart. How can I help you?"

[Hmm. Funny, kid. Just wanted to let you know that I just landed.]

"Just you, Cain? Aren't you underestimating me and my crew just a little?"

[Haha. I'm not one of the top assassins for the League because I underestimate my targets, kid. I've brought a few of our grunts with us but that's not our main force. You have pissed off quite a few people and the League is also willing to spend quite a bit of money to kill you.]

"Oh. Mind giving me some hints?" Jason asked while checking the ammo in his Kyubi

[Sorry, kid. Can't do that. But I will tell you this. You and those girls you are with aren't going to survive the night.]

"Bring it, Cain!" Jason hung up the phone. He knew that Cain was just trying to get in his head. "Everyone! Living room, now!"

The girls quickly gathered in the room and saw Jason putting on his mask.

"Cain said he just landed. Which means that he is 20-30 minutes out. He also said that the League is getting help."

"So that means that the help will arrive first," Rose pointed out. "We don't know who it is so that means we can't prepare all too much."

"We have a couple of hints. Our biggest advantage is my little sister. She's a speedster which means they will either bring in another speedster or someone like Mr. Freeze to limit where she can fight."

"Probably both. Ballistic, you cover your sister and take out anyone trying to slow her down. Jason, you gotta provide suppressing fire and slow down their advance as much as possible. I'll take on anyone that gets too close," Rose gave the plan. "Velocity. Whether we win or lose depends on you. Hit hard and hit fast. Take out whoever they bring so you can cover us. No mercy!"

"Like the sound of that. We have the advantage since we blocked out most of the windows so they can't snipe us. Worst comes to pass, we will evac and regroup before counter-attacking."

"Roger!"

Velocity ran to the sofa and began checking out the surroundings using the Zetatech Bombus drone for recon and the various security cameras. Ballistic was in the temporary 'watchtower' above the elevator so she could zoom over to whichever side needed sniping.

Jason continued setting up the defense system around the apartment. While he was doing that, Rose walked up to him with her hand out.

"Give me 3."

"No!"

"Jason. I'm not going to argue with you. We need to all be at our best. I need the stimulants so my powers stay active in the fight. We can't risk them shutting off."

Jason wanted to continue arguing with her but knew that what she said was right. He, very reluctantly, bought her a needle filled with a mysterious liquid.

"This is Prime. This drug narrows the user's concentration down to a highly focused point and eliminates strenuous emotion, making the user extremely cold and rational. It lasts for a few hours. Your metabolism will reduce that to only an hour but it should be enough."

"So I'll be like my dad. Doesn't sound like the worst thing in the world."

Jason wanted to laugh at her joke but he felt afraid. In his last life, he had seen so many people close to him have their lives ruined because of drugs. That was why he kept 'forgetting' his medication when he upgraded himself.

Rose grabbed onto Jason's hand and gave it a small squeeze. Jason looked up to see Rose's faint smile.

"Don't worry about me. Do I really look that weak-willed to you?"

Jason couldn't help but smile at Rose's comment.

"If you were a bit more heroic, you'd be the best Green Lantern."

"And don't you forget it."

Rose kissed Jason's forehead before swallowing the Prime pill. Her pupils narrowed and her breathing became very even. Jason saw the change in Rose's expression. She went from the smiling and happy-go lucky girl he usually saw and seemed to turn into a ruthless killing machine.

'Even when she's killing, you could still see a small smile in her eyes. But now, they look nearly dead.'

Jason wanted to say something to Rose but Velocity gave out a yell.

"We got company. A group of just entered the building. Another group is scaling up the side. We have a air vehicle coming in form the east. And then there is the south where it seems like Cain has arrived early."

Jason walked over to Velocity to see who all was arriving. When he saw the different groups, he wanted to curse her luck.

"How the fuck did he get Waller, Thawne, and Savage to all come after us? Whatever. He has handed us potential allies as long as I use my cards right."
