20 Harvesting and Recruiting

The blonde woman woke up feeling groggy. She tried to move her arms but noticed that they were chained above her head. Felicity's head instantly cleared up. She looked around the room in a panic. She saw that she wasn't the only person inside the room.

A man that looked to have a large number of tumors and burn marks over his face was on the right wall in the room while an average-looking man with black hair was on the left side. The dup seemed to be in the same position Felicity imagined herself in.

'Shit! This is why you don't accept jobs going after Green Arrow. Now I gotta hear a whole hero speech.'

"Hey. Hey! Wake up!"

The man to the left was the first to wake up. He was also groggy at first but when he saw the situation he was in, he actually started laughing.

"Wow. I never thought someone would kidnap me of all people. Should I be blaming you, Ivo?"

Due to Felicity's yelling, the other man woke up.

"Hmm. Sorry, but unless the Justice League has started locking people up in dark dungeons, I have no idea what is going on, Morrow."

"Wait. Morrow as in the man who created the Red Family? Ivo who made Amazo? You two created some of the most powerful and dangerous androids to exist!"

"Good of you to catch on. But I don't believe that you have created any notable machines as we have. So it makes me wonder why you're in here with us."

"Because she has skills that I am interested in."

The door to the room opened. Jason walked into the room dramatically wearing his training clothes. Talia had forced him to participate in some sparring to see how much he had improved. And because all his skills came from chips, it was zero improvements.

"Who are you? And what skills do I have?"

Jason walked in front of Felicity and smiled at her. Unfortunately, the smile did not reach his ears and sent chills down Felicity's spine.

"Your hacking abilities. I'd say you're one of the top 10 hackers in the world. Sure you rank 9 or 10 out of the top 10 but you still make the list."

Felicity felt insulted. 'My skills are at least top 5, asshole,' but she knew better than to say that out loud to the man that had kidnapped her.

"So what do you want from us?" Ivo asked. "To build you the ultimate android? And she's supposed to check all the programming once we're done to make sure there are no traps that we planted in it?"

Jason chuckled.

'Of course, that is what they think I would want. That is what most normal people would want.'

"That's not what I need you guys for. I need your knowledge."

"So, what? You want us to be your tutors?" Morrow asked

Jason laughed at the question. It wasn't wrong but it also wasn't correct. Jason pulled out a needle gun before shooting each of the people in the room. The drugs in the needles put them all to sleep. Once they were all unconscious, Jason called in the League members Talia had let him borrow.

"Bring them to the lab. Make sure you hook them up properly. I don't want them to die before the 2 weeks are over."

Jason's plan for these 3 was very simple. They were there to help him flesh out his netrunner and techie builds. Felicity was an amazing hacker so that would help Jason to better understand daemons and netrunning in general. He wanted to master as much of it as he could since he knew that when he started letting others in on it, this would be the best way to protect himself and destroy others.

As for Ivo and Morrow, both of their skills lay in engineering. Ivo was especially great at creating bioware/biotech while Morrow's skill in mechanical engineering and robotics was hard to surpass. Jason was planning on using both their skills to not only create more powerful vehicles, weapons, and drones but to also create cyberware that could give actual powers. Or at least mimic them.

Morrow created the entire Red Tornado family who each had the ability to produce certain elemental effects. Even if Jason couldn't produce cyberware that copied those powers to their fullest, it would still give him a massive advantage over the normal cyberware he was planning on distributing.

Jason started walking down the halls to get started on the implants but he stopped in front of a door. He knew that behind this door were all of the failures. The ones that were unable to keep up with the training or failed on a mission.

They were kept here as examples and to be used for experiments. Even if the League of Assassins was evil, they didn't believe in waste.

Jason looked at the room while trying to decide if it was worth it. He knew that they would be extremely loyal if he rescued them and made them better but the question was how much better he could make them.

'Oh well. I have nothing better to do.'

Jason walked into the room. He saw that there were only 6 people inside but while he was looking over them, his attention instantly went over to two young women.

The first young woman had pale skin that looked practically white. She had red hair and was looking at Jason nervously.

The other young woman was a blonde. She was missing her right arm and right eye. But what made Jason really pay attention to her was the fact that despite her being the crippled one, she was standing in front of the other young girl.

"Cassandra? Carin? What are the both of you doing here?"

Cassandra and Carin were sisters that were training under Deathstroke along with Rose originally. But when Rose joined Talia with Jason, they became his only students. Carin was weak and barely suited for the job but due to her metagene and Cassandra helping her, she was able to barely hold out.

'But it looks like that has caught up to the sisters.'

Jason figured that either Cassandra was sent on an especially dangerous mission and ended up getting injured from that or that she had tried to help her sister and it ended up costing her, her own body. Either way, with Cassandra in such a state, she could no longer make up for her sister's weakness and they ended up here.

"Jason?"

Cassandra finally noticed that it was Jason who had entered the room. She already had to fight off several men that wanted to use them for experiments or just use their bodies as playthings so Cassandra kept up her guard.

Jason saw that she was cautious of him but he didn't care. She was smart to be that way.

"You can be wary of me but you should know your fate if you stay here. If you come with me, I can give you a second chance. A better chance."

"And if we fail?" Cassandra asked, knowing that he was right but also afraid of being thrown away again

"Then you simply fail. I have enough money to keep a couple of pets at home."

Cassandra wanted to retort but she knew that they really would be nothing more than someone's pets if they failed to make anything of themselves.

Cassandra stood up and pulled her sister behind her. The pair walked out of the room, closing the door behind them. They then followed Jason to his temporary lab and their second chance at life.
