Meredith was surprised to hear Tang Yu not mention Militech at all. 

She quickly realized that the situation was not developing in a bad direction. The real player in this game had now appeared, and even she was just a tool being utilized. 

However, she could accept the end result. 

Tang Yu used Militech to kill enemy forces within the company, while she used Tang Yu to cover up the ambush on Arasaka's higher-ups. 

When the dust settled, only the Valentinos had over a dozen gang members killed, and three Arasaka special action squad teams along with the commander, Caitlin, perished.

Only a win-win situation where the Valentinos and Arasaka were damaged was achieved.

Meredith, seeing the young man in front of her to be so capable, relaxed her stern expression significantly and calmly ordered, "Regroup. Today's Militech operation should be classified as top secret. Any leak will result in immediate termination!"

To Meredith, termination meant more than just dismissal—it was the company's old method of tying people's hands and feet and sinking them to the bottom of a lake.

To make them 'shut up' for good.

Under Meredith's command, the Militech armed personnel quickly started to assemble and line up in order.

A short while later, all Militech soldiers returned to their units, drones were retrieved into the armored vehicles, and the signal blockade was simultaneously lifted.

This meant that the trauma team would connect to the biological signals of the deceased Arasaka personnel at the site within three minutes. Caitlin was already shattered into pieces, and the other special duty team members with medical insurance would get trauma team assistance.

But they couldn't escape their ultimate fate, to be sent to the city morgue, waiting for their families to identify them, while also being eligible for a compensation payout from Arasaka.

After regrouping was complete, Meredith didn't immediately get into her AV and depart, instead turning her head to look towards Maine and the others.

"How do you want to deal with those five cyberpunks? Do you need me to take care of them for you?"

Knowing the young man before her to be a vicious fellow, she figured those few were also undoubtedly doomed.

Tang Yu also looked towards Maine and the others.

The sudden scrutiny made Maine and his companions tense up unconsciously.

It was clear that the two corporate executives were discussing their life and death with such a light tone, as if they were discussing slaughtering pigs or sheep.

This serious insult made the hot-tempered Rebecca want to pull out a gun and blast those two corporate dogs in the distance without a second thought!

Pilar quickly grabbed her sister Rebecca's hands tightly, preventing her from making any impulsive choices she might regret.

Rebecca struggled to break free, cursing vehemently, "They don't take us seriously at all. In their eyes, we are just tools, beasts of burden. I'm going to make them taste rage!"

Seemingly noticing the commotion amongst Maine and the others, the Arasaka elite squad immediately protected Tang Yu by raising their electromagnetic pulse guns towards them.

The blue arc of electricity crackling at the muzzle could turn someone into charred remains with one shot.

Tang Yu declined Meredith's 'help' with a hint of politeness, "There's no need to trouble Ms. Meredith. I'll handle those cyberpunks, and I believe they will never reveal our secrets."

Hearing Tang Yu's assurance, Meredith nodded in satisfaction and led her team onto the armored vehicle.

The Militech armed AVs started their engines and took responsibility for escorting.

As she was leaving,

Meredith rolled down the window and greeted Tang Yu, "It was a pleasure working with you. I hope there's a next time. Consider that Sandevistan a gift for our meeting."

Tang Yu flashed her a smile as bright as the sun, internally scoffing, "Thanks, make sure to keep that fine gun of yours safe and sound, waiting for me to come get it."

Having said that, Meredith Stout led her Militech elite squad to swiftly evacuate the area.

As for that cyberware, Meredith didn't care about it at all.

Experimental subjects like cyberpsycho James were easy to come by in the ranks of the New American troops. Those New American soldiers, eager to survive on the battlefield, willingly fitted themselves with experimental products developed by the Militech divisions.

Being experimental meant being cutting-edge, meant being powerful, which could save their lives in combat.

The prospect of turning into a cyberpsycho was, after all, a consideration only for those who made it back alive.

Besides, there were many types of inhibitor available on the market that could effectively suppress the toxicity of metals in cyberware and neural erosion.

What truly intrigued her was Tang Yu. His actions tonight had revealed that not everyone within Arasaka was in alignment.

Seated comfortably in the vehicle, Meredith took off her blood-stained right glove and flexed her fingers.

"Handsome fella, but your methods are cruel."

"It seems you're not loyal to Arasaka, but to power itself."

"Power... perhaps I can offer you more..."

Tang Yu watched as Meredith and her Militech squad departed, only then finding time to check on Maine and his crew.

When he turned his attention back to Maine and the others, he found themselves glaring at him, as if he had done some unspeakable evil that provoked universal indignation.

Especially the twin-tailed loli, rebecca, whose bell-like eyes stared at him as though she wished she could devour him whole to relieve her anger.

Tang Yu felt somewhat helpless; he'd stepped in at a critical moment to help, shouldn't he be receiving grateful thanks instead?

However, Tang Yu didn't dwell on it, as long as everyone was alive, that was what mattered.

Maine and his crew looked battered and bruised; Dorio had been shot in the shoulder, Pilar's arm was mangled, only Kiwi and Rebecca were in a better state, though also injured and bloodied.

Tang Yu ordered the Arasaka elite squad to leave the scene, as their escort mission was now over, and they could return to Arasaka Tower to report.

Following Tang Yu's directions, two black Arasaka armored AVs landed, picked up the four members of the elite squad, and immediately set off back to Arasaka Tower.

Tang Yu strolled nonchalantly towards Maine and the others.

Seeing Tang Yu approach, Rebecca wanted to raise her weapon at him, but was stopped by Maine's hand.

"Rebecca, he's not the enemy, at least not for now," he said.

Only then did Rebecca begrudgingly lower her weapon, watching Tang Yu with vigilance and irritation.

Even though Tang Yu had just saved them, it was he who had orchestrated the entire situation, putting Maine's team in grave danger.

Maine was much calmer, knowing that without Tang Yu's intervention, his team might have been wiped out there and then.

No matter how the situation was orchestrated before, Tang Yu had kept his end of the bargain and made a significant move, squaring off with the Militech for their sake.

Maine stepped forward and met Tang Yu's gaze, extending his large gorilla-like palm, "Thank you."

Tang Yu responded in kind, grasping that iron-lump-like gorilla hand, "Think nothing of it."

With that, the trap Tang Yu had laid for Susan Abernathy was effectively sprung.

The next drama would naturally unfold with his former boss Jenkins performing at the board meeting.

Even if it didn't kill Susan Abernathy, it was bound to cost her.
