23 Chapter 23

With insight from Yoshimura, Corven thought about what he plans to do, spending the morning preparing the shop for opening with Yoshimura.

When the clock struck 5, Corven opened up the store, heading towards the back to get out his menu sign, putting it next to the main counter.

With the kitchen having a great sized oven, and the room having plenty of space, its the perfect place for him to bake treats in bulk.

"I'll make 2 of the more popular pies and 3 cakes, to put in the display containers on the counter." says Corcen as he puts on his Apron.

Corven plans to make 2 chocolate cakes, with his grandmothers homemade strawberry sauce covered ontop, with a thin layer of whipped cream, and a light drizzle of melted dark chocolate ontop of the whipped cream(since its the best seller), a blueberry coffee cake, lightly layered in powdered sugar, his grandmothers popular peach cobbler, with his own homemade vanilla ice cream at the ready, an a sour apple pie, with cinnamon and whipped cream on top.

'Hopefully when i get this done, i won't get any other orders and can mess with the system for a minute.'

Getting the cakes and pies prepared takes Corven awhile, but when he finished, he puts them in the oven to let them cook, and as they do he starts making his Grandmothers homemade strawberry sauce in a large pot, cause it tends to run out quickly, and melting a pot of chocolate with a little water so it won't burn.

Adding a bowl full of freshly chopped strawberries, as well as a a cup of sugar, a table spoon of cinnamon, a cup of honey, and a cup of pineapple juice.

Waiting for it to boil, he slowly stirs it, waiting for it to thicken up.

Once its done, he pours some of it into a cooking tray, leaving the rest to simmer, making sure to coat it out evenly, using less than a quarter of the pot.

With the tray full, he puts the it into a deep freezer.

'Now with everything else done for now, Status.'

"Dangerous people really do give alot more than dangerous animals.." whispers Corven.

By gaining 500 EXP per ghoul kill, Corven managed to gain an extra 6 thousand EXP.

'I need to find a way to increase my knowledge and abilities, my power and defense are fine for now, but without proper training and knowledge, it won't be as much of a use as it could be.'

After thinking for a moment, Corven opens the drawing panel, and using the 3d model, he draws a description of him eating several pieces of meats, books, and other misc items, making a new ability with the description of:

[Consumption learning]- User gains knowledge of what is eaten.

[Penalty 1]- Knowledge may be unfiltered, allowing useless and important information to be mixed up.

[Penalty 2]- Too large amount of information may short circuit users brain.

[Penalty 3]- Knowledge may be fragmented.

[Penalty 4]- Knowledge isn't permanent and most may be lost over time.

[Penalty 5]- Only consumable items can be used to gain knowledge on.

With that the price is set at 8,045, Seeing it, corven accepts, gaining the skill almost immediately.

Walking over to a strawberry to test it, he grabs one and eats it.

Only after swallowing the food does Corven start to gain information about it, from the number of seeds it has on it, to the method it was grown with, even as far as its genetic structure.

With the amount of info gained, Corven started getting a headache, but it was only moderate thanks to the strawberry not being something advanced, aka a human brain.

'Thatd probably put me out of commission for a long time.. itd be best to start with small things so my mind can properly adjust as I add more, slowly working my way up to more difficult items, at least until I get another ability to help with the effects.' thinks Corven.

Thinking about what else he can try and eat for more knowledge on, Corven takes the cakes and pies out of the oven, walking out to the front and putting the pies in their display containers once they cool off.

After, he then puts the chocolate cakes ontop of a rail, and using the pot of melted chocolate, he slowly pours it on them, making sure to cover the cake tops and sides completely, leaving them with a smooth surface.

Next, he puts the cakes in a normal freezer for a few minutes, allowing the chocolate to freeze up, creating a chocolate crust around the cakes, then using his grandmothers strawberry sauce, he pours some ontop, allowing it to coat the top and leak on some sides of the cake, before coating it with whipped cream slightly, and then doing a couple light drizzle lines of melted chocolate ontop of the whipped cream.

Next he takes the blueberry coffee cake, and coats it lightly with the powdered sugar, and after hes done, he puts them in the display cases out front.

Next, he checks on the tray of strawberry sauce, and after making sure its frozen properly, using a knife, he cuts the frozen sauce into several square pieces, then he gently scrabes them up from the tray, doing his best not to break them, and finally, he puts them all on a plate, and puts them out front on the counter, with a little sign labeled "Free Treats".

With his Baking done, he takes off his apron for the time being, and makes himself a well deserved cup of coffee, while eating one of his frozen treats.
