19 The Talk, The Date, & The Mole

Darren turned to look at Lily when Tim left the room to give them both privacy but not before she told him they weren't done yet.

Lily sighed and turned to Darren and before she could speak and annoy him with questions, he spoke. "Where's Lee?"

Lily raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything aside an answer of his question, "Where else could he be? Doing what you should be doing if you don't have that thing around your ankles"

Darren rolled his eyes, he eyes the way Tim walked out into before opening his mouth to speak, careful not to be heard.

"What's new?" he asked.

Lily regarded him for a few seconds quietly, "There's nothing new, Ren. We still cannot find him"

"Why is it so hard? He's here in the country. Surely it's easy to track a royalty" Darren stated sarcastically.

"He's a lawyer. Surely he can manipulate things especially when he doesn't want to be disturbed."

"Fine. Just be sure to track him down as soon as possible"

"Why don't you just look for another lawyer? I know someone else Ren" she suggested which Darren did not accept. Why would he when Lily and Lee convinced him that the best is the one who may be doesn't want to be found? He wants the best.

"I don't settle for less. You told me he is the best and can win my case. That's it" Darren exclaimed lowly.

"But we cannot find him Ren! I don't have a lot of connections. Lee only has a few and it's nothing to do with the royal family. Where else should we seek?"

Feeling exasperated, Lily breathed deeply which Darren easily ignored. He wants that lawyer and he already lied to Tim who his lawyer is. So, if he's still staying in the house when the time comes he needs to do what he plans to do, Tim should see that his lawyer is that royal guy.

"We're wasting time here Ren. Can't you see that? The time spent on seeking him can be used to fight for your house arrest"

Fine. She has a point there but what good would it make if Darren goes to look for another lawyer and then ends up disappointing him? Meyers assured him he'll get his parents out of jail and his house arrest lifted off but he ended up doing just the opposite.

He cannot risk that again.

"I want him" Darren answered coldly.

And besides, isn't it better to spend a lot of days looking for a sure lawyer than going for the easy road of picking whoever he's not even sure he can rely on?

"You're relying on him too much"

"Because you told me about him! Those exaggerated statements! You told me he could handle this! That he could win -

"Yes we did Ren! But we didn't expect it will be this hard to look for him! He's in vacation for pete's sake! His family already informed us that he don't take cases when he's not in the office!" Lily intervened.

Darren glared and huffed in annoyance. Crossing his arms, he again started to sulk. Of course his signature thing to do when he cannot seem to get what he wants.

"Just. . . Just think about it Ren"

He didn't answer because what for? This conversation is useless. Pointless.

"Lee will update me if he has anything to tell today. And by the way, we will visit your parents tomorrow"

He just sat there. Quietly pretending he's not hearing anything although he's quite grateful that his bestfriends are regularly visiting his parents because he himself cannot.

He felt Lily was about to speak again when Tim came into view, knocking calmly on the wall. "I apologize for intruding but have you guys eaten? I made snacks"

Lily immediately stood up so Darren was quick to follow. "Let me examine it first. Be sure you didn't put any poison in it"

Tim chuckled and stared at the both of them, "Now I see why you two are fucking bestfriends"

"Could you stop cursing?" Lily requested annoyed but he only shook his head.

"Fuck no. It's who I fucking am miss"

When they all arrived at the dining, Tim served them a plate of carbonara which Darren doesn't even know he cooked.

"When did you cook this?"

"Last night before I went to sleep" Tim shrugged and poured their glasses juice.

"Hmm, good sauce however a little spicy. I'm not fond of spices" Lily critically said.

"I am" Tim answered back.

Darren wanted to open his mouth and speak but he feels like he shouldn't so he shut his mouth and just began eating. Surprisingly, the pasta tasted good. He sure is a good cook. He eyed Lily when she again started to talk.

"So, when are you leaving?"

Tim stared at her and grinned. Freshly and with no hint that he is bothered of the question. Like it's not hard to answer that and to cross her. Which is an easy thing to do for Darren because he always gets his way but for people who doesn't know Lily, she's kind of intimidating.

"I love staying here and besides I still have to take cutie out on a gorgeous and well planned date"

Darren coughed and started to choke on his food. Did Tim just say that?! This crazy arsehole!

Before he or Lily could respond, Tim hastily handed him his drink. "Damn cutie. I know I'm hella jaw dropping but please do not frickin' choke on your food"

Darren glared and accepted the glass of juice. Lily who's watching the scene unfold, opened her mouth to ask,

"Are you guys in a relationship?"

This time Darren spurted what he's been drinking out of pure shock and surprise. Did Lily just ask that?! This insane woman!

He glared at the both of them. Tim chuckled and handed him a napkin, where he got that, he doesn't know. He of course glared at him too before accepting it.

"Yeah, definitely in a relationship" Lily concluded.

Horrified at the idea but not entirely unpleasant, Darren scoffed. "Don't be ridiculous!"

"Well that might be the reason why he cannot leave you here alone. Right, stranger?" Lily shrugged and looked at him.

Tim laughed and nodded, "Yes yes, I am bound to him. I really should take him on a date. What do you think?"

Lily tilted her head and answered, "You should take note he's afraid of lobsters, hate stake, loves Italian cuisine and would rather go shopping than go on dreamy dates"

"And oh! He has a mole on his buttcheek!"

Darren's jaw literally dropped at what Lily just revealed! What on hell?! What?!

Tim and Lily both sniggered and high fived.

Okay, what's happening?! Huh?!
