11 The Police & The Stupid Ways

"Go wash up you're trembling. I'll handle it, okay?" Tim's voice was soft but serious and offered no room for defiance.

But Darren was far too nervous to do anything other than stand and wait for the authorities to check on him once they had noticed the alarm that rang for minutes before Tim can reach him and help him on his feet.

Unlike him, he was already dressed as nice and presentable as he could be. His black shirt that defined his muscles more to his maong pants that fitted him just right. Not too tight but not too loose. He also wore a watch Darren was sure was expensive seeing the all too familiar logo of the Elroy Golds.

For a second, Darren wondered Tim's background because he was well aware of how high-end and expensive Elroy Golds can be but he was brought back to the current dilemma at hand when he heard Police sirens from the distant that was fast approaching.

His heart began to thunder in his chest and he was beginning to sweat from panic, anxiety and mixed terror. Darren was all but terrified. The weight of not having a lawyer scaring him. What if he won't be able to defend himself? What if Tim would not be able to make up reasonable excuses? What if he cannot convince them that it was pure accident?

All questions and negativities swirling inside his mind and affecting his whole body so he just stood there. Lips quivering and tears threatening to fall for having no one at all.

"T-they're... t-they're g-gonna put me in j-jail" he stuttered out as he tried to hug his cold body with shaking hands.

He has plans! He had plans! He's gonna take his parents out of prison! He doesn't know how unless he figures out how to free himself from house arrest first but he will get them out.

But seeing him suddenly sliding off the floor, his foot slipping out the doorway causing the tether to alarm the security that he had breached his house arrest and should be dealt and investigated accordingly.

He cannot go to jail! He doesn't want to!

"I don't want... T-tim I can't" he looked up and saw him already staring down at him seriously but gently. Tim sighed and gave him a real smooth smile and for a second he relaxed but panic came back when the police sirens stopped as they arrived.

He gasped and tried to stepped back but Tim held him on his arms and massaged it soothingly.

"Relax cutie. I got this, alright?" Tim stated

"Why don't you wash up and when you come back down, they'll be gone." Tim had a tint of promise in his voice but he jumped startled when there was a rough yanked at the gates.

"Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. I'm going to jail. I can't, I c-can't go to jail. I can't -

"Cutie look at me. Look at me" Tim cut him off and tilted his chin. His soft hands cupped his cheeks and run his thumb over his cheekbones.

"Trust me I got this, okay? No one's going to put you to jail. I won't let them, alright? Now why don't you go change and relax. I'll call you when I'm done preparing us food after this" he said and smiled once more and Darren stared at him for seconds, seeking and finding comfort in his eyes and the soft and gentle hands on his cheek and his arms.

Tim's calmness on the matter was what Darren envied. His demeanor told as if he was used to dealing with securities, authorities and acted like he was secured in himself. That he wasn't afraid or scared at having to deal with the police.

Darren nodded and turned his back. The last thing he heard was Tim's voice roaring calmly. Softness and gentleness long gone and it was as if there was another Tim in his body.

It confuses him so much.

"Cutie?" a knock on Darren's bedroom door was heard. Darren's heart thumped in his chest.

Still thinking about what happened and stressing if Tim really got things on his control, if he managed to explain the truth or come up with better convincing statements.

He should call Lily and Lee soon to demand his lawyer.

"Cutie? Are you there?"

Darren bit his lip for a second before releasing a heavy and deep breath.

"C-coming" he spoke low, voice muffled with anxiety.

Slowly, Darren opened the door. Not quite meeting Tim's eyes as he tried to look around outside which isn't much when you consider Tim's muscular figure taking up almost the space of his wide doorway.

"Let's eat? I'm fuckin' famished" Tim's back to his usual self. Before Darren could even answer and ask about the details of his talk with the authorities, Tim was already walking away.

Soon as they both settled in the dining area and having put foods on their own plates and Darren not even bothering to open his nasty mouth when he saw a slightly burned hotdogs, he started asking questions.

"What happened? What did you tell them? Where are they? Did they believe you? Are they going -

"Don't worry about it. Just eat" Tim cut him off smoothly.

"But -

"Cutie just eat, alright? I got it fixed and later after you eat, you should contact your lawyer to update him matters at hand" The thumping of his chest came back with the slightest mention of his lawyer.

Should he tell Tim the truth that he doesn't have one? Or continue to wallow in pride and straight up lie?

"How did you even manage to convince them?" was what came out of his mouth.

Tim looked at him and smiled while shrugging.

"Well, it turns out fooling the shit out of it was convincing enough"

Darren huffed and rolled his eyes. Tim is Tim.

"Your stupid ways?" Darren sarcastically said, momentarily forgetting everything but the returning of their usual banter.

"But they helped you cutie" Tim winked at him and Darren answered by making a disgusted face.

"You're fucking welcome by the way" Tim added with a grin and Darren nearly stabbed him with the fork he's holding.

"Why are you always cussing?!" he asked frantically and Tim shrugged nonchalantly as he took a bit of hotdogs while staring at him. Yes, while staring straight at him and Darren unfortunately finds it hot.

"It's just fucking fuck me" Darren gave out an annoyed sigh.

"Asshole" Darren nastily called but as thick headed Tim was, he laughed.

"If that makes you feel better then of fucking course I am"

Darren glared one more time sharply. Sharper than he's ever glared at anyone.

Tim is Tim with his curses and idiotic self.
