7 Chapter 7

Mark and Jenny stayed with Sara at the hospital. Sara was devastated, she was also exhausted. She sat with Ruby.

She sat talking to Ruby,

"Do you know Ruby when you wake up I'm going to spoil you and Charlie. I'm going to be your best sister ever! Please come back to me." Tears rolled down her face. She thought to herself how was she going to tell them about their parents. She had to be strong for both of them.

She turned to them both,

"I'm so grateful for both of your support. I don't know what I would have done if I was on my own."

"There's no need Sara to be grateful, we are always here for you and you know you would do the same if anything like this would have happened to us" replied Jenny.

" I'm going to tell you something I've never told anyone before" Mark spoke.

"I've been forever grateful to your father Sara, my family owes him a lot."

Both Sara and Jenny looked at Mark.

"I don't understand what you mean". Asked Sara,

"Remember the time when I was really stressed last year? I wanted to be by myself all the time?"

"yes I remember" said Sara "when Jenny was upset thinking you didn't like her anymore and you told her your family was having financial difficulties".

"Your dad helped us out Sara. He loaned us some money and also helped us sort out all the mess created by my dad's partner. He had stolen a large amount of money from the company and he didn't pay any insurance premiums so we were not covered for any loses. Your dad was a god send for us Sara and saved us". More tears were shed by all of them.

"My dad always tried to help wherever he could I'm going to miss him loads. I miss him now. Do you know what he would say to me now? He'd say Sara your practically a grown woman and it's high time you stood on your feet and started to live your life! That's what he used to say when I asked him to buy me some ice cream on his way back from work" she laughed at her last remark about her dad.

She wished she could hear his voice once again.

Jonathan walked in holding coffees and sandwiches for everyone.

"come on you lot, you need to fuel up and boost your energies, otherwise you will get yourselves ill."

They all looked at him and smiled. "thank you Jonathan, that's very considerate of you". Answers Mark.

"yes thank you Jonathan but I don't think I can face food just yet!" Says Sara. She walks Ruby's bed and sat beside her on the chair. "please go ahead an eat you've all been here for ages and you all must be hungry.

Jenny coaxed Sara to take some coffee putting in loads of sugar for some energy, she kept refusing but finally took it when Jonathan smiled and said he wouldn't eat or drink if she didnt take the coffee. She smiled and thanked Jonathan and took it.

Just then panic strikened nurses rushed towards Charlies room. The machine went berserk! Something was wrong with Charlie.

Sara's cup of coffee fell to the floor as she ran out of the room towards Charlie.

"Don't you dare Charlie decide to leave us!" she was frustrated and her heart was exploding.

Jonathan came up behind and put his hand on her shoulder for some support.

" he will be OK Sara, the doctors will do their best."

"nothing seems to be going right! I've lost my mom and dad now Charlie is critical. I don't know how much more I can take!" she was frustrated.

The doctors and nurses were rushing around and finally after 15 minutes the monitors stopped beeping and all was back to normal. Charlie seemed to be stable.

Dr Antonio breathed a sign of relief.

" Dr what's happening with Charlie?" asked Jonathan.

"his breathing got obstructed but all is under control don't worry" he replied.
