20 Chapter Nineteen: Not A Date - February 5th 2027

So Kat let Katherine pick out the movie while he went and dished out the ice cream. First Kat got down two bowls and grabbed the ice ream scoop before getting the tub of chocolate ice cream and squeezing on a ton of carmel on them before putting away the ice cream. Kat then carried the two bowls into the living room where he found Katherine in her cute little red pony pajamas with a smile on her face.

"Let me guess, 'Prancing Pony Warriors'?" asked Kat as he approached hr with the two bowls.

"Number Four!" exclaimed Katherine with a smile as she took her bowl and Kat sat next to him.

"I can't believe they even made one of these let alone six. Why are we starting with number four thou?" asked Kat as he took the remote and hit play.

"Because I've seen all of the other ones like twenty times. What do you mean six this one just came out so how can there be two more?" asked Katherine as the previews began to play.

"Sorry can't tell it will ruin one of your birthday surprises." confessed Kat hoping that ends her questioning.

"Okay, well I haven't seen this one though. So please no talking." replied Katherine as the movie started.

Now because this was her favorite tv show Kat has also seen all of the episodes and the first three movies at least ten times. He actually got her the complete first season on dvd along with a sighted poster from all of the voices actors for her birthday in a little more then a month. You see he is secretly a fan of the show and when he was on his school trip last year he slipped away to the studio where they were recording a episode and asked them to sign a poster for her as well as even got the youngest voice actor who was sixteen's number.

Kat sat watching the movie as he debated on calling the girl up. She should be in the off season by now and if his research was right she was from down state so it wouldn't be that long of a drive. He really didn't get much time to talk to her before being thrown from the studio. The thought made him smile a bit though he knew deep down that he like Vixi and she loved him. So with a soft quite sigh he went back to watching the movie and eating his ice cream.

As for Katherine she shot a glance up at her brother seeing his smile made her think either he was enjoying the movie or her company. So once she had finished her ice cream and handed Kat her bowl for him to place with his empty one on the side table she snuggled in close to his side before slowly laying down with her head on his lap. Yet Kat was ready.

For shortly after Katherine laid her head on his lap she was out. The combination of hyping her up, feeding her milk and sugar caused her to crash so quick not even the movie could keep her awake. Now that doesn't mean Kat didn't finish watching the movie in the pretext that if anyone walked in she'd just fallen asleep and he didn't want to wake her.

In the end as the movie came to an end Kat clicked off the tv and carefully slide out from under Katherine's head before scooping her up and carrying her off to her bed where he tucked her in and even gave her a kiss goodnight on the forehead. Kat then retreated back down stairs to clean up the evidence of ice cream as well as the rest of the dinner dishes from earlier. It was as he was doing the dishes that his mother made it home.

"Is Katherine asleep?" softly asked Kat's mother as she walked over to him. "You'll have to tell me your secret one of these days. I can never get her to bed this early nor without a fight."

"It's nothing mom I'm glade you had a shorter shift today." replied Kat before giving her a hug. "I just wish you didn't have to work so much. You know I can always go out a get a weekend job and work after school."

"We're not going to discuss this again, your education is important and besides who would watch your sister? We can't afford a sitter and I know that's really hurt your social life son I'm sorry." replied his very tired mother.

"I wont push because I know you're tired but I know for a fact that Vixi wouldn't mind watching Katherine and would more then likely do it for free. I just hate to see you working too hard and rarely getting to see us except for breakfast and bedtime. So please think over my offer." replied Kat with a smile.

"Let's just call it a night and I will give it one more thought before giving you my answer." sighed Kat's mother as she turned to leave.

"Okay, I'll just finish up the dishes here and then head to bed I promise." replied Kat before turning back to the dirty dishes. He was tired but he also knew his mother worked too much to do everything so he tries to clean up as much as possible when he can get a chance. Thus once the dishes were done he moved on to whipping down the counters and cleaning the stove. Kat wanted to have the kitchen look amazing for when his mother woke up. It wasn't like he had to go anywhere tomorrow or do anything though he might try and get Katherine to finally clean her room.

Finally at about eleven forty-five pm Kat yawned and looked at his work before sluggishly and quietly walking to his bedroom before flopping on his bed. He was out like a light before his head had even hit the pillow. Maybe his mother was right it would be too much for him to hold down a job, his good grades and keeping the house clean.
