3 Chapter Two 1/2: Smile

Alphonce P.O.V.

Flashback*

"I hated it there, I hate the village and I hate madam Everdeen!!! I want to run away, no I will run away from them!!!" I thought as I ran towards the forest.

No one wants me there, and I never even wanted to be there in the first place so it's best for everyone!!!

Suddenly my thoughts were interrupted as I hit something really hard dead on and fell backwards on to the ground. I heard a low deep snort, a sound that froze me on the spot, the sound of the devil - a wild boar.

I just couldn't believe my luck! *note the sarcasm* yes I am sarcastic even in a life or death situation, I can't help it it's just who I am~ well it's the end of me.

"heh~ he~"

I tried to just laugh it off to get rid of my fear but it did nothing but increase it. Well I guess this is where I die. At the age of 7, an orphaned village boy runs into the forest where he is met to his end by a humongous boar. What a great way to end this amazing life!

I shut my eyes for I could no longer even keep them open to face my death… I waited 1 second, 2 seconds… 5 seconds. But the boar never came. Suddenly I heard a squeal coming from just in front of me.

I opened my eyes to find a warrior, a hero!!! Okay I may be exaggerating but I do not when I say that he did save my life. A grown man from our village died because of a wild boar just as big if not smaller than this one!!! He pierced it straight from its mouth to the other end, it still struggled but its attempts were in vain for it could not possibly survive that.

I looked back at my savior, surprised to see that it was only a child my age. His skin toned / darkened from being under the sun for long periods of time. His hair tied back a bit messy but the good kind. And not even a drop of sweat.

I sat there still overwhelmed by what just happened till he looked at me and held out his hand to help me up.

Alphonce: "Thank you…"

He nodded his head and began to walk away.

Alphonce: "umm… can I come with you?!"

I kept my head lowered ashamed of how weak I was. Then I felt his hand tap my shoulder.

?: ". . . one condition. . . smile for me?"

I looked up at him, and laughed a bit to see his flushed face. I couldn't help the smile that crept up to my face and ran with all my might towards him.

Alphonce: "So what are you gonna do with the boar?"

?: ". . . "

Alphonce: ". . . "

?: "… dinner… "

Alphonce: "… oh." grrrooowwwlll~

? "…!... hahaha!!!"

Alphonce: "hehehe~"
