The world is a desolate and bleak place. The six seas all filled with fiending pirates who do nothing but plunder, assassins who want all not but money. There are only about ten thousand people in the entire world which are named prodigies because of their innate talent to wield magic. In all of these six seas there is one in which things started changing, where someone was born who changed the tides of the world
The wind blows gently on a sunny day, rustling the leaves of the trees on the small island. Jay, a young man with short black hair and faded sides, slowly opens his eyes and groggily sits up. He looks around, taking in his surroundings.
???: "Huh... Where..?"
He stands up and stretches, scanning the island for any sign of life. The island is small, surrounded by the clear blue sea, with rocky cliffs jutting up on one side. Jay notices that there are a few palm trees scattered around the island and some strange-looking flowers that he's never seen before.
???: Where am I?
The young man begins walking around, he searches the island for anyone or anything. The island this man is on has a very small size, there's no way a town could be built here.
???: "What's that?"
As he wanders around, he spots a figure in the distance. It's a slim, malnourished-looking young man standing over a grave, his eyes fixed on the name engraved on the tombstone: Lyndon.
Jay approaches cautiously, rustling the leaves underfoot.
Mysterious Person: "Hm? Is anyone there?"
His eyes lock on to the young man, having noticed this, the young man stands up.
Mysterious Person: "Jay?"
Jay is taken aback. He doesn't recognize the young man at all.
Jay: "You know who I am?"
The Mysterious Person looks surprised.
Mysterious Man: "Y-You don't remember me? Dang, you must have received brain damage from the crash."
Jay scowls.
Jay: "You calling me stupid?"
The young man chuckles.
Mysterious Man: "Heh, guess some thing never change. My names Addison, Addison Savage.
Jay: "Addison... Savage? Nope, doesn't ring a bell."
Addison looks disappointed and turns back to the tombstone.
Jay: "Who is that?"
Addison: Man.. He doesn't even remember his best friend.. I guess it's better I don't tell him. "He was one of us. Believe it or not, there were dozens of us, but then the storm appeared, it made almost all of the crew and prisoners disappear. We made it out alive, but Lyndon died once the ship crashed into this island."
Jay: That sounds horrible. "Can we fix up the boat and leave?"
Addison crouches down and puts a rose on the grave.
Addison: "I went to school for a couple of years so I knew how to build myself a rowboat, I was also able to build another because I thought Lyndon would have lived."
Jay: "I'm sorry.."
Addison: "It's fine, but before you head off.. Let me tell you why we're here."
We are test subjects for some sort of organization. They barely feed us, and give us the worst living conditions.. Well, they did.. We're free now. I don't care if you don't believe me but, We and all the others that were being tested on are some sort of subjects to a divine being. They are probably still looking for us. The hooded men told us that if we can harness our magic abilities to the fullest, we could become as strong as the Warlords.. Heh.. But I doubt we would ever make it that high.
Jay: "Wait.. Magic..?" I thought only around ten thousand of the entire world's population could use magic..
Addison puts his hand up, some sort of ice crystal begins to form on his hand.
Addison: "Yes, all of us are magic users, so we can survive off in the world by our own, I don't know how well your physical abilities are, and since you forgot your memory, you probably can't use magic yet.. Just stay alert and don't die."
Jay stays silent, he's in quite a shock from all of this information.
Addison: "Alright, I'll be going now."
Jay: "Wait! Where are you gonna go? Where even are we?"
Addison sighs.
Addison: "This is the Bronze Sea. I suggest you go to Redwin, it's a small town standing over the water. It's located at the Viper's Sanctum."
Jay: "Vi..per's Sanctu..m?"
Addison sighs again.
Addison: "Dammit. Alright here's my map, use it to find Redwin, we will meet again, I just know it. Stay alive old friend."
Addison said no more as he walked over to his boat and began setting off. Jay unrolls a map, the size of it shocks him.
Jay: Woah! This thing is huge, it must be a map to this entire province... Alright lets see here..
Jay takes a close look at the map, he finds the location of Redwin, it is surrounded by giant rock formations that reach the clouds. These formations are called "The Viper's Teeth". After inspecting the map, Jay walks over to his boat and begins to get ready.
Jay hops out of the rowboat and pushes it out of the sand as a starting boost, quickly hopping back on once it begins building speed. Jay has set off on a quest so grand it will for ever change how the world works.
Jay's heart was pounding as he paddled his way through the Bronze Sea. The thought of being a test subject to a divine being, and having magical abilities, was still hard to process. He couldn't remember anything about his past, but now he knew that he was part of a larger group of people who shared similar experiences.
As he sailed further away from the island, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The sea was vast and unpredictable, and he was all alone with no one to turn to for help. He wondered how many other test subjects had managed to escape and survive like Addison and him.
Hours passed by as Jay rowed his boat, with only the sound of the waves crashing against the boat to keep him company. He felt exhausted and his arms were sore from paddling for so long. As he approached the Viper's Teeth, he was greeted by a breathtaking sight. The towering rock formations reached high into the clouds, and the sun cast a golden glow upon the sea below.
Jay spotted the small town of Redwin nestled among the rocks, and he knew that his journey was far from over. He took a deep breath and focused on his goal, determined to find out more about his past and the organization that had held him captive.
