2 Rose Amongst The Daises

   Yesterday a stranger with green cat eyes was let into the gates by Alexander. They were carried into the infirmary in Alex's jacket and suffered from hypothermia and had multiple bruises. Thankfully he was not bit or bled on but he was still scared.

      Alex sighed and came into the infirmary to check on the stranger he brought in. " they are in good shape, no bites or sign of infection, but they won't talk to us and they are still trembling ", the woman said softly as Alex nodded and slowly headed in noticing the person sitting in the window, their blanket on the floor. He slowly walked but already seeing their small body trembling and shivering quite violently like they were permanently cold and scared. " how are you?...", Alex asked softly as his red eyes stared at the person seeing both their arms and legs wrapped in bandages the only things showing was their  toes,heels,fingers and face as their neck was also covered in bandages. After receiving no response he walked up triggering the person to swiftly turn their head towards him and stare at him with nervous and shaken eyes as he then noticed their red hair. Their hair was not orange or a bright red, It was a blood red like his hair was stained with blood and it didn't even look dyed which made him intrigued as he got closer. The person slid and pressed up against the window staring at Alex until the person looked up and at his red eyes, remembering them from last night as the eyes that brought him here. Their eyes were both terrifying yet gorgeous as Alex sighed and headed for the door but the stranger would grip his arm.

    "Blake A-....A-Ackerman..", The stranger said, their voice was soft and shaken as the he hugged his arm making alex surprised as he softly said. " Blake~ i can stay if you want me to", but blake would shake his head and let go before limping to his bed and hiding under the covers. Alex took this as a sign to leave so he did and sighed as he closed the door behind him leaving his jacket with the boy so he swiftly ran for his house, passing by a old broken down bakery as he did but soon ran up and soon into his house slamming the door behind him.

     He sat on his couch sighing as he ruffled his hair. Alex found himself thinking about those eyes, those green beautiful eyes that's pupils were as thin as a needles. " where would you get those eyes?, where is he from?, where are his parents? ", he though about all of this as he rubbed his eyes feeling himself lose sleep everytime just working on the possibly of spreading their town further and gaining more supplies since the weather is making it harder for their crops to go and making it harder to spot zombies and leave the walls for Fishing or hunting. He was so backed up that he has no time to fall in love or relax unless his sister took over for him but suddenly his mind snapped to blake hugging his arm and his caused him to crack a smile as he began to drift off.

    Alex woke up hours later to his sister banging at his door and he'd swiftly sit up and stumble over to the door, opening it up and she immediately exclaimed. " THE RED HEAD ESCAPED! ", And would become wide awake as he grabbed his pistol off the coffee table and chased her to the gate where it was open and blood trailed outside of it, flashlights would be pointed towards a blake that was at least half a mile outside of the gate but was limping as everyone was too scared to follow since the sun was setting but Alex chased him. Alex ran swiftly towards him as blake coughed and stumbled to get away but Alex swiftly grabbed the limping blake in his second jacket and held him as he ran back hearing something chasing him as he ran back towards the gate yelling for them to close it while blake began to cry feeling scared as he saw the zombies chasing them from over Alex's shoulder. Alex would shoot them as they began to close the gates, shilo yelling for her brother to hurry as he ran as fast as he could feeling his lungs burn from the freezing air and his legs tremble but blake would grab his gun and yell for him to focus on running as blake shot the chasing zombies in the head with what was left in the clip till they slid into the gate and it slammed shut behind them. Shilo swiftly ran over and checked her brother before she yelled, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN HIM KILLED!", as Alex shakingly gasped and shilo exclaimed " you could have gotten us all killed?! They could have gotten into the walls!!". Blake backed up with tears turning down his face as Alex's stare softened watching blake shakingly stumble to his feet to only slip and fall and weakly get up and limp away with shilo yelling after him. " YOU BETTER RUN AND KEEP RUNNING YOU DUMBASS", before holding her trembling and panting brother who gripped his chest and watched blake go before watching everything go black.

     He woke up with a soft gasp and a shiver as he sat up feeling a breeze on his chest, looking down and noticing that he was shirtless and he looked under the blanket to find himself completely naked and he looked around to find his sister asleep by his bed. " what happened? ", he mumbled softly before a folded pile of clothes at the end of the bed caught his attention and he immediately got up and put them on begging to god that shilo won't wake up as he stretched and looked at his sister who shot awake at the sound of him fixing his zipper and she immediately stood up and hugged him. " you're okay! ", she exclaimed as Alex patted her confused and she'd notice his expression and say. " That red head ran out the gates and you grabbed and ran back towards the gate but zombies chased you and he took your gun and shot at them before you slid into the gate and it just barely closed...you passed out from the lack of oxygen while i yelled at him to run away and he did.....that coward", She said seeming to have a hatred towards blake but Alex swiftly headed for the door. " where'd he head to?!...we can't leave him in the cold", Alex would say softly which surprised shilo who protested against helping that psychotic chilly pepper but Alex would head outside and into the streets calling for blake but having no answer so he searched with shilo and found him sleeping in the snow behind a house as he shivered, his tears frozen against his face but jolted awake feeling the presence of shilo and alex which caused him to stumbled to get away but Alex would snatch him up and into his arms despite his kicking and weak yelping. 

     Blake hid under Alex's blankets on his bed while shilo tried to scold him but Alex told her to leave it to him so she begrudgingly left the room and he closed and locked the door behind her. His attention immediately on blake who still shivered under the covers and he softly said. " my people could have died..",in a calm tone and blake would softly saying, " it's not my fault you chased me...you could have closed those gates and let the zombies overtake me", but alex would shake his head explaining that he couldn't just let that happen trying to raise his voice over Blake's but blake would yell. " why do you care for me?! What do you want from me?! ", Blake was well aware of the dangers of overly nice people but alex would sternly saying. " if you really wanted to die then why won't you look me in the eye ", and blake would fall silent but there would be a hand on his face that turned it towards Alex's, his thumb rubbing the frozen tears from his eyes as he flinched and slapped his hand away. " I don't know you please don't touch me ", Blake said nervously as his he hid his puffy eyes under the blanket. Alex sighed as he pushed Blake's boundaries and apologized but blake said nothing back so he left the room to talk to shilo but the second he left that room blake slammed the door and locked it surprising Alex and startling Shilo who slammed on the door and yelled. " YOU SLY SON OF A!", by alex would pull her away and sigh leaning against the door and begging for blake to open it to only have no answer so he sighed and let shilo go home before sleeping on the couch.
