1 Cat Eyed Stranger

The first morning of the month and it's snowing early. There is a walled off town named "cosmos" or also called "comet" or "moon town" best known for they're gorgeous nights and beautiful festivals. The kids ran around the streets, throwing snowballs and chasing cute fluffy dogs while the grown ups mingled and watched, laughs and chatter filling the white streets. In a house near the loud streets held a man that slowly opened his eyes and sat up, ruffling his pure white hair and staring at his curtains which light peeked through.
"Mmmm~...new day new life". He said softly croaking as he stretched and jumped up,putting on his pants, turtle neck and fluffy winter jacket before heading out of the house and down to the tavern,dodging stray snowballs that the rascals for kids tossed.
He walked down the sidewalk waving and greeting the elders and teens and they all seemed to know him as he asked one of the elders that rocked slowly in their chair. " where's m.m?", and they would nod their head towards the door of the tavern and he would nod and head inside. The tavern all greeted him as he entered and he smiled and waved, slowly walking up to the bar, he was met by a woman that stood about 6'0 to his 6'3. Her raven black hair almost touched the ground but her skin was a soft brown that glowed as she smiled from behind the bar.
"Hello lucy, how's work?", The man asked smiling back as he sat down at the bar staring up at her. " what's up alex, to be honest some people haven't left this bar since 6 pm yesterday", She said in her usual soft and motherly voice as she poured him a spiked hot chocolate with extra peppermint and he would take a sip and sigh in relief.
He looked around as a pink haired girl came up behind him and hugged his neck, her soft giggling filling Alex's ear. She smiled at lucy and lucy would wave at her before turning and helping another person at the bar.
"Heyo Alexander!", She said squeezing his neck and causing him to cough softly,setting his cup down as she sat down beside him. "So where's ya sister?", She asked looking around hopefully but Alex would chuckle and stare at her with tired eyes. " She isn't here cause she knows you're gonna try to hit on her", He said before finishing his hot chocolate.
He relaxed while m.m groaned and rolled her purple eyes and pulled her pink hair mumbling out. " whyyyyyy? I just wanna take her out", but alex would chuckle again at her usual childish and whiney behaviour and said. " Everyone calls you the horn dog for a reason, she believes you're only trying to get into her pants", and m.m would sigh and stare at him rather tired and upset. " I have seen people naked and "slept with them" but i never let them into MY pants", she seemed rather uncomfortable about that subject and that would cause alex to quite down before standing up and leaving m.m to talk with lucy.
He left the tavern and let out a cold huff of fog before heading down the street and towards his sister's house catching a couple laughing together. It caused him to sigh once more. " i want that warm embrace on a cold night ", he thought finding it rather cheesy as he winced at his own thoughts before stopping in front of a old but cute cottage. He knocked on the door and stepped back with his hands held together behind his back but he didn't need to wait long as a women about 5'8 with black hair and gold eyes opened the door and stood there in the door way smiling slightly at the sight of alex. She invited him in as she turned around her long hair falling to her lower back as he entered and closed the door behind him, the warmth making him already sweat in his winter jacket which he took off and put on the rack. "Welcome alex, you better not have told m.m that i was hiding here", she said jokingly as she snickered and pulled out a chair for him which he sat in. "She questioned where you were, i told her you were avoiding her ", he said bluntly,his red eyes meeting shilo's golden ones, hanging half lided. Come to think of it, they looked completely different with shilo having black hair, gold eyes, tannish skin, and rounder features while alex had white hair,red eyes,peach pale skin and sharper features that seemed round at certain angels. " I'm not avoiding her just rejecting her company", shilo said softly setting down a cup of warm coffee infront of him but having already had the hot chocolate he simply traced the rim with his finger.
They talked for hours forgetting about the time and reminiscing about the world before the outbreak. They forgot they were even in the apocalypse as memories filled their minds and distracted them until the sun began to set. " So how about you? You in love yet?", shilo would ask taking her empty cup and alex's cold cup of coffee into the kitchen while alex groans and replies. " i haven't found anyone ", and shilo would sigh and walk back in saying. " look you need to find someone, i can set you up with someone", but alex would shake his head and groan at the thought of dating one of her friends. " shilo i just don't find anyone here worth pursuing", he said bluntly making shilo just rub her temples and glare at her stubborn brother but got an idea. " tonight lucy is holding a party at the tavern for the celebration of our expansion, so let's go and you can finally get a girlfriend", She exclaimed as alex groaned at his stubborn sister as she forced him to his feet and pulled him out of the house with their jackets in hand.
They would arrive at the tavern,the sound of music and talking inside as the two watched people kiss on the porch. " i don't know about this shilo ", Alex said backing up but shilo would shove him forward and into the tavern, them both stumbling into the now decorated tavern. Alex looked up at the hanging bright lights and colorful bottles that had candles in them, illuminating the room with bright colors as music played and people sang and chattered. Before shilo could step up to the bar tho she would immediately caught by m.m who smirked and said. " hey shi~ can i buy you a drink?", and shilo would sigh and stared at her with a almost glaring stare before saying. "Fine..", leaving her ambivert brother there as she walked to the bar, slapping m.m's hand away from her waist and m.m would give Alex the thumbs up and alex would do the same. He'd look around at the people talking as everyone was already in their groups and had their partners making alex rather lonely as people bonded and danced together.
He stared at everyone tugging on his turtle neck and walking forward and towards the bar keeping his head down and nervously waving to the people that greeted him, rejecting their attempts at getting him in their social groups. He sighed and stood at the bar asking for a whiskey on the rocks and Lucy would slide him a glass on the house making him smile and thank her. Gripping and sipping the cup he sighed and downed it in one gulp hoping the liquor would distract him from the loneliness that he felt there and hid so well but soon someone would bust in yelling for alex and it would cause him to whip around.
"SOMEONE'S AT THE GATE! THERE'S A SURVIVOR AT THE GATE!", the girl yelled as the music was cut and the girl dragged alex who ran with her towards the gate, the people in the tavern following and curious of who it was. He felt his heart pound as the cold air made it hard to breath but his stomach had a feeling that he should go faster so he ran up to the gate that the people crowded around and demanded for them to open it and they did. The gate would open slowly as alex watched a pale and red nosed body fall infront of him, shivering and trembling as he dragged the body into his arms. Suddenly his eyes locked with the bodies as their hair laid messily around them, their emerald yet peridot like eyes met his red ones and the person's pupils were practically thin lines like a cats that dilated as alex wrapped him in his jacket and carried their almost lifeless body in his arms. "WE NEED HELP!", Alex yelled as he ran swiftly to the infirmary ignoring the burning feeling in his lungs and the tears that ran down his face from the pain.
