1 CHAPTER ZERO

I woke up feeling weird. You know the feeling that you have no idea why you're in a place or doing something? Like something more important and exciting should be happening, but it just isn't. I feel like that now. I ignore it for now and go through a normal morning routine that any 15 year old boy does in the morning. It consisted of waking up at 4 o'clock in the morning, watching memes for half an hour, playing video games for another half an hour, pretending to be asleep to avoid my mother who did nothing wrong but I just don't feel like talking to people ever, getting dressed, brushing my hair for 30 seconds, putting on my shoes, and leaving the house to walk to school. I picked up breakfast on the way at Chick-fil-A as always and continued to school. School was the same as always. I had average grades even though I was very smart. I had the most creative and scientific mind of everyone I knew. Except my awesome chemistry teacher, Mr. May. He blows stuff up on a regular basis, talks about memes, and weebs out with me and my friends on the newest anime. Yeah, he watches anime! And yes, I do to. I love anime, books, mythology, psychology, physics, theoretical science, biology, medicine, and most of all is general relativity. I just love to learn how things work, and why this does that. Anyway, I'm getting off topic. Where was I? Oh, yes, school! Nothing happened at school. Wait. There was something. What was it? Oh, right! After school was over, I died. Yeah, I have a friend named Amy who I found out I really liked a year ago. I always wanted to ask her out, but I never did, I'm just too much a coward to ask out a girl I like. Anyway, after school, I was walking home as always. I was reading about Greek mythology, and I noticed Amy about ten feet in front of me. We were walking over a wooden bridge, and I walked up next to her. I was about to say hi when we heard a snapping sound. Then the bridge collapsed. We were over 30 feet deep river. Me, Amy, and another woman all fell into the water. I quickly was extremely disoriented, and felt my head hit something. It was a rock. I was bleeding quite a bit from the head. I knew i was bleeding out quickly. I looked to the shore and knew my only way to live is to get to shore quickly and try to stop the bleeding. But then I saw Amy she also feel in and seems to be unconscious. I don't know if she fainted or hit her head too, but I knew I had to save her. I swam over to her as fast as possible and grabbed her by the waist. I swam up and up till finally we surfaced. I could see the shore not to far away, so I swam over to it with Amy. I see there are already people calling the paramedics. That's good. We reach the shore and I drag Amy up with me. I check her breathing. She isn't. I start CPR as fast as possible. After a minute, she spits out some water and starts breathing she looks to be slowly waking up. As I'm sitting back about to wait for the ambulance I hear a scream. I look back to the river to see the other woman that fell in with us. "HELP! MY LEG IS BROKEN AND I CANT SWIM!" Then she starts sinking slowly, trying hard to stay floating but can't do much with a broken leg. I immediately dive in after her. I reach her fairly quickly and dive down to pull her back to the surface. As I'm bringing her back up, a random rock hits me very quickly moving down stream. It hit in the same spot as the previous injury! I start to bleed more and more. We get up to the surface of the water and start to swim to the shore. By this time my vision is starting to darken. We reach the shore safely and the paramedics are finally here. They already have Amy in an ambulance, checking to see if she's ok. They help me and the woman to land and rush us to the ambulances. I'm on a stretcher, but I barley notice. All I can see is that Amy and the woman are ok. I give Amy a smile and a weak thumbs up. She looks worried. Then everything faded to black.

I am still in complete darkness. I don't know how long I've been here, or how long I'm staying, but I'm still here. After a wile, a sudden flash of white light blinds me, and I hear a voice.

"Hello, Cupid, my boy."

As my vision clears I see a man who's age could be anywhere between 19 and 90. He appeared young one instance and you blink and he's old.

"Who-who are you?" I asked.

"Why, young child, I'm God." said "God.

This confused me. Why am I in front of God? Why is it so bright? Does this mean I'm dead?

"So your God?"

"Yes, and to answer your questions, you are dead, it's bright because this is heaven, or I should say the entrance to heaven, and yes, you have passed."

"Will you judge me now, or something? I don't fully know how this works."

"I suppose I should judge you shouldn't I? Now normally we start with your life, but I will only see it. It would take too long for you to see it, so I will be watching it for a small wile. After that, we will both see the scene of your death, and the events that led up to it."

Then he sat down in a lotus position and his eyes glossed over. I could see images flashing on his eyes, almost like a reflection, but I couldn't make anything out as is was moving so fast. After a little over fifteen minutes his eyes went back to normal and he stood up and looked at me.

"Ok, I'm all caught up, now we can start with your passing scene. And before we start, I would like to congratulate you so far. Your life was very pure, and had very few sins. You always helped people, and were always polite. I admire both these things the most."

"Thank you."

Then God came to stand next to me. He waved his hand and a large ball of what looked like mercury appeared out of thin air. Wait, is there even air here? I don't think I have been breathing. I'm getting off topic. After the bass appeared, it started to flatten into a circular sheet that was very thin. Then the screen started shimmering with color. After a few seconds, the colors became clearer and I could see myself walking on a bridge behind Amy. It was then apparent that I noticed her and started picking up pace to talk to her. All of a sudden, the bridge collapsed and Amy, the woman, and I fell in. You could see me hit my head then rescue Amy, then go back to rescue the woman. That's when something came flying at me at high speeds. The image moves for a second to show a nearby building being excavated. It seems that the thing that hit my head was flying debris from the building. Then it went back to me saving the woman and getting put onto a stretcher. Then the image faded to black. I looked over to see God had a small tear going from down his eye.

"Thank you, my child. You were able to save the life of your friend Amy. If you had stopped there, I can assure you would have been fine and lived, but then you went back to save a woman you don't even know. Why, son, did you go back knowing full well that you were bleeding out?" asked God.

"Well, she needed saving. I can never watch someone in need without helping, especially in a situation where life and death are at stake. I suppose you could say that it's just who I am."

"Thank you again. For cases like this where a person saves another at the cost of their life we give them another option."

"What do you mean 'another option'?"

"You can still come and live in heaven with me of corse, but you have another choice as well. I will allow you to be reborn into another world with a total of five wishes. This world can't be your old world of corse. If I were to send you back to your world your soul would just return here because is would recognize its old world and know it has no body to keep it there. Now, do you want to go to heaven with me, or reincarnate in a world I choose to match you?"

"I would like to reincarnate if you don't mind."

"Ok then, do you have any questions, or would you like to just get to your wishes."

"First off, why five wishes?"

"How it works is that if you are chosen for reincarnation, you get three wishes and one extra for every life saved in your final moments. The maximum amount I can give is ten wishes, however extra lives saved are converted into luck."

"I see. Well then, could you give me some time to think over my wishes?"

"Sure, but I can only give you a maximum of three hours. If your stay any longer, your soul would be stuck here and you could not reincarnate."

"Ok, I will think over my wishes for now."

I then sat down on the ground, or whatever was holding me up. It looked like clouds and kind of felt like an extremely soft bed. Anyway, as I was thinking of my wishes, I decided to ask God a few more questions.

"So um, God, may I ask you another question or two?"

"Sure, ask away."

"First off, do you have any real name other than your various titles?"

"Hmm? I don't think I have. I suppose, sense I was born alone, and I was the first of the Gods to be born, I was never given a name. All the minor Gods just called me 'God' or 'The Prime'."

"Then is it alright if I give you a name? I know the creation shouldn't name the creator, but I feel it unfair that everyone else in the world has a name but the most important one."

"I suppose that's alright. You know, you are possibly the most odd human I've ever met. Most don't care for others, and the ones who do don't think of me as an individual like them."

"Ok then, what sort of name should you have? Hmmm. How about Jason?"

"I like it! Jason represents a healer and a kind, loving person. It suits me very nicely. Thank you Cupid. Oh, on the topic of names, for thanks for giving me one, I will give you the choice of your next name. I can't change the last name, but I can influence the choosing for your first name."

"I would like to keep Cupid if thats fine with you."

"Alright, now you should focus on your wishes. Don't want to slip up and end up with a useless wish."

"Alright, but first, may I know about the next world I will be traveling to?"

"Ok, the world you will be reborn in is a world filled with magical abilities and superhuman powers. For your wishes, you should most likely choose wishes to keep you alive. I believe an author from your world was inspired by this world and made an almost exact copy called 'One Punch Man'. I believe you loved this comic and tv show, which is why I chose it for you."

"Ok, thank you."

As I sat back down, I thought to myself about what I would want from my wishes. If I need to stay alive, I might as well take a little inspiration from my old world.

After about two hours of thinking, I finally stood up to tell Jason my wishes.

"Ok, I'm done and I would like to tell you my wishes and reincarnate."

"Ok, lets go one at a time so I can fully understand what you want from your wishes."

"Wish number one is I would like a system like interface to be imprinted into my mind, allowing me to store items, see my condition in the form of a status, buy items and abilities from pieces of fiction from my old world, and a quest system to gain strength and abilities."

"That works, I can do all these things for your first wish. What would be your second wish?"

"I would like for my second wish to be to have intellect even greater than Tony Stark, as well as the ability to split my consciousness into different segments so I can think about multiple problems at once."

"I can do this, what is your third wish?"

"For my third wish, I have chosen the ability to never die. I want regenerative abilities that surpass both Deadpool and Wolverine. I also want the ability to never fail, unlike Wolverine's. Not to be rude, I don't really want to see you here for a wile. I also want pain nullification to go with the regeneration."

"This can also be done. You will still age, but much slower. What will be your fourth wish?"

"I want my fourth wish to be the ability to create invincible barriers that I can move and choose the shape of."

"Ok, but you should know there is one man who can break them if he uses all his power. What's your final wish?"

"For my last and final wish, I wish to be able to have my body to adapt to survive in any environment. I want to be able to live without air, food, water, sleep, and whatever else."

"Ok, now that I have all 5 of your wishes, there is one last thing I would like to ask you. Would you like to make any changes to your appearance?"

"Oh, I didn't know that was an option. Ok then, I would like silver eyes that have a small shine to them. I would also like to be tall. As tall as I can be without having extremely odd proportions."

"Ok, how does 8'5 sound?"

"That is even better than I expected." Hmm, I'll be really tall. Good thing too, One Punch Man is full of super tall guys.

"I'll also give you whiteish grey hair to go with your eyes. Now that thats settled, do you have any questions or comments to say before your departure?"

"I don't have any questions, but I would like to say it has been an honor and a pleasure to meet you. If I get the chance, I would like to meet you again. Without dying preferably."

"Ok then off you go."

He waved his hand in a nonchalant way in my direction. All of a sudden there was a pulling force in my gut and everything started to go dark, the white room fading into blackness. As he was about to disappear, God said something as if he almost forgot to tell me.

"Oh yeah I forgot, you will get your wishes as part of the system. They will be in a package I left you."

"Thank you for tellin..."

Then everything faded to black.
