The river emptied into a lake. They continued to follow the shore, with Em leading them forward.

“We’re almost there! This is Arnath’s lake! It feels so good to be home again.” Em said with an excited whoop.

“Arnath lives in this lake?”

She nodded, and pointed to a small island in the distance. “He and my Larissa live in a cave underneath that island.”

Both Tuxtax and Rixa nervously backed away from the shore line.

Em merely rolled her eyes and laughed. “They won’t hurt you, I promise! Now come on! Let’s go.”
