20 It's your own loss for not joining...

After careful consideration, he truly thought that this idea would work. After all, the cultivator world lacked entertainment. It would be impossible for Shen Long to introduce technology and electronics neither for a few obvious reasons. First, Shen Long would need to set up power stations to supply electricity; then he would need to educate his peers about electronics; then, he would need to construct mobile phones and other devices.

Even though Shen Long studied in a prestigious academy, he was still a teenager. Manufacturing complicated things like this was impossible for him. With his limited knowledge, he could at most make a motor if he had all the materials. However, these materials won't be in the cultivator world; plus, a motor really won't count as an "entertainment". At least, for Shen Long, it wasn't.

So, he decided to introduce his favourite sports - basketball - to the cultivator world. Concept of basketball is fairly simple as its main objective is to put the ball through the hoop. Although, of course, it's easier said than done. Shen Long was confident that he could craft the basketball hoops and the basketball.

As it was already night time, the shops in the alleys were already closed. So, Shen Long's plan would have to be postponed to tomorrow. He decided to go to bed immediately, to wake up earlier. However, with his brain being this active, sleeping was near impossible.

Shen Long was extremely impressed at himself as he started to imagine every disciple of Daoist Fireblade queuing up to play basketball. He continued to praise himself - his so-called "heavenly intelligence". Since he was young, he had always believed that he was favoured by the heaven as he called himself the "heaven's child."

Of course, despite his shamelessness, he didn't dare to walk around Hanwu Academy to call himself that. He also didn't know that this was actually very disrespectful towards the heaven, as supreme beings like Gods reside there.

However, Shen Long could actually call himself that now. This was because he was baptized on Earth, after his sudden enlightenment. His soul received an enormous transformation, and his fate had been rewritten. Shen Long was fated to have a good fortune , but ultimately, the joruney to become an invincible cultivator depended on how Shen Long decided to walk his path. Fortune itself was not enough to guarantee success; it was merely a factor.

Every celestial immortal was bestowed with great fortune, yet they could only walk this far down the path of cultivation. Were they not intelligent, hardworking, talented enough? Of course they were. Yet some still couldn't get past the barrier of transcendence, to become an emperor, to ascend to the God Realm. Shen Long's dream to become the best cultivator was extremely difficult; even becoming a celestial immortal was already hard enough.

Yes, it's true that Shen Long cultivated daily until reaching his limit, repeated strengthening himself; but this was the same for every other cultivator. Yet, Shen Long's advancement speed was so much quicker than others even though their effort was the same. Talent and comprehension ability were also crazily important.

Shen Long, luckily, had way more knowledge than other cultivators. With correct usage, his battle prowess could be greatly increased. His limited knowledge on the laws of the universe - even simple ones like Newton' s third law(reaction) - would allow him to grasp the Daos much easier. He could also, potentially, develop the electronic products with helps of talented alchemists, constructors, manufacturers as he already had ideas on inventions. It's just that he lacked skills to recreate these items.

Especially in the future, when he was able to return home, he could even teleport skilled workers from Earth to the cultivator world. That, however, required him to bind Earth first, and humans on Earth would also need to be at least in Foundation Establishment. Shen Long would have to bring back Qi Manuals to Earth, but Daoist Fireblade would probably lend a hand.

When that happens, Shen Long would definitely have his own ultimate trump card. With a bunch of high-skilled workers, Shen Long would even be able to establish his own kingdom. But in the current situation, introducing basketball to the cultivator world was the best he could do.

It wasn't long until the Sun rose again. Shen Long immediately got up and headed to the allay to purchase his material - to start his project. He was slightly surprised at his own strength as he started making the hoop. Without using a hammer or nails, he was able to "glue" the two components together using brute force.

Even if he wanted a hammer, or any basic crafting materials, there wasn't any in the cultivation world anyway. There wasn't a need for them after all, and the buildings, furnitures here were built by cultivators who embarked on the Dao of Construct. Things like these could be easily created, just by their will - and the object would be formed. However, the worker must have a thorough understanding of the object, or he must have the blueprint.

Hence, Shen Long could only make everything by himself. As he used to play basketball back on Earth, he was quite familiar with the size of the hoop, ball and the board. Although it may not be 100% precise and accurate, it was not too far off.

He finished quite rapidly, everything in an hour. The ball he made was not particularly bouncy, but it would do the job. Shen Long then started writing out the rules on a blank sheet with his shitty calligraphy. It was quite simple yet it covered everything.

Now, he just needed to find an area of open space, and drew the lines of the court before everything was ready. He immediately went to Sister Qingyu and asked her where he could find an open space, and Qingyu kindly led Shen Long to an area near the mission hall.

Shen Long used his Qi to draw the lines on the ground, then he moved the hoop to the court. After a while, it was all finished. All he needed was people now. Shen Long began to shout loudly to attract other disciples.

"Guys!!! Is anyone bored? Come join me to play basketball! This game is easy to play and it's extremely fun! I will teach you all! It's free as well!! Come! Don't be shy!! I don't bite!!" Shen Long shouted as he held the ball in his hand.

Shen Long did well - on attracting others' attention - but they only gave him a murderous stare, and no one showed any interest in joining Shen Long for a game of basketball.

Shen Long continued to shout furiously, but finally came to a halt after twenty minutes. Shen Long decided to just play by himself as no one seemed to care about him.

"People are just missing out... It's your own loss for not joining. Hmph! " Shen Long consoled himself as he practised his shooting. To his surprise, his control over the ball had actually improved, and his accuracy was also much higher now compared than before. This was probably due to the improved co-ordination and control over his body due to the fact that he was a cultivator.

After realising how he improved so much, his excitement grew. He was actually able to dunk, despite being only 5'11. He continued to play by himself, but this actually attracted even more attention from the crowd.

The crowd grew bigger and bigger, until one disciple decided to ask Shen Long to join him. Shen Long was slightly surprised as he looked at the crowd and the boy's request. He gladly taught him the basic rules as well as showing him the rulebook he made. He then showed him how to shoot and dribble.

As cultivators' comprehension ability were generally quite high, they easily understood. They started to play a proper basketball game. Shen Long was, obviously, much better than everyone else, which caused others to respect his skills. Even the crowd was starting to get intrigued by the game as more and more people joined in and watched.

As Shen Long and 9 other disciples played, the news of this completely new game - basketball - spread like a wildfire in the palace. The crowd continued to grow in size while Shen Long was completely immersed in the game.

Every time he took a shot and scored, or showed off his dribbling skills, the crowd would cheer like proper fans. This made Shen Long felt even more confident as he continued to destroy everyone else. However, his opponents were not angry at all, showing extremely good sportsmanship.

Shen Long was like a God to everyone else. His accuracy, skills, passing abilities were all above everyone else and everyone admired him as they watched.

"Shen Long! Shen Long! Shen Long!" A chant could be heard as the basketball game continued.
