13 012 - Endeavor (Ni Tian)

Faced against the ferocious bear, standing at a height of 4 meters, possessing sharp claws that could slice through any metal, Ni Tian's sweat trickling down her face.

'How can I fight that?!', she was still injured, and as soon as she woke up she was forced to fight.

Ni Tian cursed at her own predicament and luck.

'Which bastard cursed me!?', Ni Tian angrily thinks.

She looked at the bear, only to realize she really was in deep trouble, the sun peering from the entrance of the cave shining on the back of the bear.

The sheet glare of the sun rays would make Ni Tian unable to see properly.

Ni Tian once again cursed her fate. Everything was starting to go downhill for her.

'Tch!', clicking her teeth, Ni Tian begins to try to think of a way out of this situation.

But that didn't last for long.

The ferocious bear began moving towards her. Ni Tian took a step back.

Seeing this, the bear instantly jumped towards her, dashing through the air.

'So fast!' The beast accelerated towards Ni Tian, its claws gleaming under the sun.

In a moment of panic, Ni Tian moved to the left, barely dodging the bear's strike.

BOOOM!

The cave started to rattle.

The massive strength of the bear caused a small crater to form where it struck. Dust filling the air.

Ni Tian, not losing this opportunity dashes towards the entrance of the cave.

ROOOARRR!

A deafening sound could be heard from the direction behind her. Faint galloping sounds echoed from the cave, accelerating every second.

'Shit! Ni Tian panicked seeing the beast catch up to her.

This was the first time she had ever seen such a ferocious beast. 'It must at least be a second-tier beast!'

Beasts were naturally stronger than humans, able to dominate in strength against their human counterparts at the same level.

Beast tiers generally went something like this:

First Tier = Peak Mortal Tier

Second Tier = Peak Body Nourishment Realm

Third Tier = Peak Qi Gathering Realm

And so on…

Beasts cultivated differently than humans, instead of gathering the power of heaven and earth and condensing a dantian, they would instead rely on the purity of their bloodlines to develop powers and strength.

Their form of power could be said to be a gift from the heavens, a gift from birth.

Unlike humans, a beasts future was determined at birth, such was the fairness of heaven and earth.

Knowing this, Ni Tian who was only at the early stages of the Body Nourishment Realm knew she couldn't defeat this beast, even to the point of not being sure she could outrun it!

Luckily Ni Tian had some rest just before, managing to heal somewhat with the vitality of a Body Nourishment Realm cultivator.

Still, this didn't seem to be enough.

As she continued to run, clouds began gathering above her head. Forming a dark cluster of waves.

Crackle!

Thunder exploded forth, the clouds were lit up by the lightning.

Ni Tian looked up while running, chains of lightning could be seen in the clouds.

'Heaven really wants me dead...', as Ni Tian ran, rain began falling from the heavens, starting as a light drizzle.

Ni Tian looked back, the bear was still hot on her trail, not disturbed by the sudden storm.

'Tch!' clicking her tongue, she pushed forwards, weaving through the trees.

Ni Tian suddenly felt a presence behind her, instinctly rolling out of the way.

BOOM!

"Argh!"

The bear had caught up.

Although she dodged the strike, the shockwave from the attack pushed her onto the ground.

Ni Tian struggled to get up, grasping her arm which bore the forefront of the shockwave.

She began to stagger backwards, keeping her eyes where the bear was.

The began to put itself upright, standing on its hind legs. Its ginormous form reaching the trees.

A low growl could be heard from the beast as it approached Ni Tian. Despair quickly filled Ni Tian's eyes. Her arms began to shake, her legs began to give out.

She stared at her upcoming death.

The bear was now just above her, staring down at her. Ridicule could be seen from its eyes. It was having fun.

Tears began to well up in Ni Tian's eyes.

She would never get to see her sister, never fulfil her dreams, and never live to her mother's expectations.

Time seemed to stop as the bear reached out to her, drool escaping from its mouth.

His claws were only a foot away...

Crackle! Boom!
