10 009 - Control

Lei Ao sat up. He looked at his surroundings. He looked at the dead bodies. He remembered the way he brutally killed them. How he had felt nothing, not even an ounce of regret while killing them. He had not cared if they surrendered, nor if they were scared. He just went and killed them.

'Sigh...'

Lei Ao walked up and approached one of the bodies. He crouched down and touch the pool of blood on the ground, rubbing his fingers together.

He had done this.

Lei Ao began to slowly walk back towards the camp.

He reflected on what he had done. He had let the spirit of the tiger take over him once again.

His brutality, once he activated the skill, was not something to scoff at. It made him forget about the consequences of his actions. Forget about what he believed in. It made him lose any empathy and sympathy he felt.

It made him into a beast, a killer who cared not what it killed.

He once again looked at the corpses.

'Sigh..., I really need to do something about this...', I walked up to an empty spot.

I started digging, digging a hole. He would use this to bury the bodies and pay respect to the ones he brutally murdered...

A few hours later.

He walked towards the camp with the sun shining on his back. He needed power. Power to control himself. Power to act, to be who he truly wants.

With a new resolution, he took a confident step forwards. A smile rose on his face, only to quickly go down.

'That bitch, she really knocked me out!'

Lei Ao now angrily walked back towards the camp.

-----------------------------------------------------

In an underground place, hidden beneath the camp. Rows upon rows of chained up humans could be seen. All walking, monotonously and slowly deeper into the underground. A quiet hymn could be heard echoing in the chamber.

Red crystals could be seen hanging from the ceiling, reflecting the dim light of the torches. Strange marking could be seen drawn onto the bodies of the humans. They all possessed lifeless eyes as they continued walking deeper into the chamber.

At the core of the chamber, sounds of metal clacking loudly could be heard. Beings wearing black hoods could be seen detaching the metal bindings off the prisoned humans. Guiding them onto a pulsating red formation.

The lifeless expressions of the humans were still apparent throughout the whole ordeal.

When 10 of the lifeless humans were brought onto the formation, the beings wearing black hoods began chanting undecipherable hymns.

The pulsating formation began to spin and contract. When the formation reached the feet of the outermost human, a black hooded figure holding a golden staff began walking towards the formation.

He brought the staff up with two hands and slammed into the ground. Bam!

"Ohhh Forgotten Demon, oh merciful one, we offer thee the souls of these young calves! We offer you the blood of the living!"

The formation lit a deep crimson colour, black mist rose from each vertex of the formation, spiralling towards the offerings.

When the black mist touched the bodies of the humans, the skin corroded away, leaving the flesh and muscles underneath.

Blood gushed onto the formation, the prisoners jerking back and forth under the torment of the mist.

The black mist congregating towards the lump of flesh, burning away the flesh and bones of the living until a deep crimson coloured orb was left floating in the centre of the formation.

The black-hooded figure holding the staff walked forwards, and collected the orb, bringing it back to a podium.

There he placed the blood coloured orb amongst a pile.

A pile of the same blood coloured orbs.

Lei Ao made it back to camp when the sun was nearly directly above him. He had taken his time.

Lei Ao decided that he would go collect his rewards from the achievements hall after having been stalled by unfortunate events the previous day.

The camp was still deadly silent, only the movement of messengers could be seen on the road. Everyone else was yet to be seen.

According to Lei Ao's memory, groups of soldiers were to be sent every day into the mountains for training, making the camp relatively empty until a new batch of soldiers arrived.

Ignoring this, Lei Ao headed towards the centre of the camp where the achievements hall was located.
