9 008 - Not as planned

"N…Ni Tian!", stutters the white-haired girl.

She stares at Lei Ao's deathly smile, scared that she may be the next victim of this brutal beast.

'Why is she scared? I just saved her, this is not like the scripts!?', Lei Ao faced with this unnatural reaction from Ni Tian was confused. He had saved her, wasn't she supposed to fall in love with him, to thank him for his deeds? Why did she keep her guard up?

What Lei Ao didn't realize, was the massive killing intent that was oozing from his body.

It was too terrifying.

"What's wrong?", Lei Ao asks while tilting his head.

Caught off by the sudden movement of Lei Ao, Ni Tian quickly dashes back, sweat could be seen trickling down her forehead, she focused her attention on Lei Ao, trying to predict his next move.

Lei Ao's face was filled with confusion, he turned around searching for what the girl was scared of.

Ni Tian's POV:

Sweat trickled down my forehead, running past my eyes and onto my nose, before falling on the ground.

I was nervous. I could feel the danger of the monster in front of me. He had appeared out of nowhere, brutally slaughtering 5 people in an instant.

Now, he was looking at me.

His blood-covered face, his sapphire blue eyes, peering at me, seemingly staring at my soul. No, staring at his prey.

My body shivered. This is the end.

"What's wrong?", the monster speaks to me. His sudden move forces me backwards. At any moment he could kill me.

I had realised. He was playing with me. Playing with his prey before he would kill them. His innocent demeanour. His frightful killing intent. Each reminded me of crazy killers I had met in the past.

Always unpredictable, but they each had one thing in common, their thirst for blood.

And this killer's thirst for blood was the highest I had ever seen.

I clench my teeth, waiting for my death, I kept my focus on the beast. I had to dodge, whatever it was, I had to live longer.

Then suddenly, he turned his head around. Leaving him vulnerable.

I had to. I clenched my teeth and go for it.

I dash forward, skidding across the ground. I take a step forward, planting my foot on the ground.

"Heuh!"

I throw a palm to his face.

Lei Ao turned around, trying to figure what had scared the girl so much. He checked the bushes, the trees and even the canopy, but there was nothing. Confused, he begins to turn around.

Bam!

He turned around, only to get knocked unconscious, only catching a glimpse of the girl who had just hit his face.

'What the fuck just happened...'

His world begins to darken.

Ni Tian's POV:

Bam!

'I did it! I got him!', my palm connected. I had succeeded. I glance at his face.

A thunderous feeling overcame my body. The monster was looking straight at me. His sapphire blue eyes were staring deep into mine.

It really was too terrifying, the sheer killing intent weakened my legs.

I had to run.

Run before that monster got up and kills me.

I dash back, trying not to fall. My breathing was haggard from the previous fight. My wounds searing with pain. I had to live.

I pushed on, deeper into the forest.

I escaped.

A few hours later, when the sun could be seen peering from the horizon, a body lay under a tree.

Caw! Caw!

The cry of ravens next to the body was deafening.

The body twitched, its eyes slowly opening up.

'What happened...?'

The sun rising up from the horizon began to shine on his face through the canopy. He grabbed his head, grunted and sat up.

He looked at the sun.

'Sigh... It really was all bullshit...'
